Capital One bank sucks. The only “bank” that doesn’t allow online international wires from my BUSINESS account after hours. I’m firing them today.

I went to the Capital One Bank on 6th Avenue and West 4th Street, NY today and had a great experience with teller Destiny. She helped me with currency conversion in U.S. dollars to be deposited into my checking account. Destiny meticulously checked out the currency rates and told be how it all worked. I appreciated her pleasant attitude, knowledge and diligence in assisting me.

Another week without having any money, no atm, destitute and bankrupt poverty stricken banking at it's finest! I guess having no access to cash here is a wonderful way to save, unfortunately there are many services and other things in this neighborhood which require cash, l wish businesses would accept iou's on Capital One stationary with an explanation that this Capital One's atm is not working ,the sympathetic cashier at the W4th Market Place and Deli understands and accepts me using a bankcard to buy a cup of coffee because he knows this bank is a failure. The bank itself smells, it's filthy and unkempt, reminiscent of a Koch era subway station from the 1970's When New York City was bankrupt. The atms are locked at night as they are only open during banking hours. The atms are often broken and Capital One customers have to withdraw money from cash back at the CVS on Washington Place and 6th Avenue or the Chase Bank immediately across the street from this branch and pay substantial atm fees, failing that customers have to wait in line for a long time along with many other Capital One customers who need to fill out withdrawal slips and get money from two very harried tellers who have to fend off very angry and impatient customers who have been waiting for a very long time. This branch once fully staffed with managers and several employees at their desks now consists of a skeleton crew of two overwhelmed tellers and a sadistic security guard who laughs and and then scolds and threatens customers who punch the non working atms in fits of rage.Nothing is quite so useless and worthless or pathetic as a bank without money. This branch is something out of Dickens,Dostoievski or Kafka, it's like something out of Henry Mayhew's London Labour and London Poor, Jack London's People of the Abyss or NYC's and Greenwhich Villages own Jacob Riis's how the Other Half Lives. This branch is a true slum bank. I'm aware of all the literary references in this review, l'm a writer and l am poor. This bank wasn't always so dysfunctional or dismal. I've been banking here at this location for decades, when it was EAB, then North Fork. Before the pandemic it was once a fully functioning bank, it has been a shadow of it's former self ever since the end of lockdown when businesses in this neighborhood opened and resumed operations. It's dreadful and heartbreaking to see how far this branch has fallen, it's tragic that Capital One customers in the West Village no longer have a functioning bank, perhaps it's days are numbered, l can't imagine how much longer it can stay open at this level of substandard service. Maybe it's time to call Andrew Berman at Village Preservation and draft a petition to save this historic bank which has served so many artists and writers in Greenwhich Village, l wonder what wonderful plays, novels art shows and other important cultural events in the life of the village this bank once financed. It's sad to see it in this state of disrepair and impending doom, it's completely unfair for the tellers and the security guard who work here. Capital One needs to urgently address this needy underprivileged bank that is so sorely neglected. If Capital One is frightened by the homeless people who plague this neighborhood and don't want them sleeping in the atm foyer, is it too much to ask for a security guard at night? Baring that is it too much to ask for a clean bank that doesn't smell and is fully staffed? This bank is in urgent need of attention and to keep it in its current decrepit state is completely unfair to both Capital One employees and customers, Capital One do SOMETHING @ The time to pay attention to this bank is NOW!! It's really sad and hard for me to let go however l'm sick of not having any pocket money or access to the money in my account, yes l'm aware that most transactions are with a card, however as archaic as it may be there are businesses in this neighborhood that only take CASH

Capital one is worst Bank Branch and ATM service wise. I can barely find any branch and this branch is worst one their ATM machine doesn’t work 7 days a week and sometimes their door doesn’t open. Totally unacceptable. I would not recommend anyone having an account with Capital One. Absolutely not!!

Idky they removed the security person from there it made it easier for others. At this point just remove the 24hrs sign if it isn’t 24hrs anymore. Ugh!

There are always homeless people or loiterers watching you withdraw cash at the ATMs, during both day and night. Also, the door won't open when you swipe your bank card.

The 6th Avenue/ West 4th Street location is becoming unusable on weekends and after hours. The ATM enclosure has become a haven for homeless people. While I sympathize with their needs for shelter, it is not a comfortable situation for anyone to access or deposit funds. There is no other CapOne in the vicinity. Please post a guard in off hours!

BEWARE DONT NOT USE CAPITAL ONE credit cards as well as MASTER CARD they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CUSTOMERS!!,,, After almost one month of being jerked around by them as Well as RAYMOUR & FLANIGAN nothing has been resolved each time I have reached out to Raymour & Flanagan they were rude and not helpful basically telling me I'm stuck with the defective mattress and when I reached out to Capital One They also were rude And not helpful at all. Each time I called they never made notes to my account each agent you speak to tells you a different story. Also asking me to upload photos and documents to them after I did that they told me MASTER CARD doesn't accept pictures and for me to take the King size mattress to another place so they can write a letter stating it was defective. So tonight I contacted MASTER CARD they switched me to 3 different agents who in turn connected me to CAPITAL ONE I asked why would you connect me to them. The agent from CAPITAL ONE told me my case is closed and to contact the merchant myself. The same merchant whom I have a problem with which is why I contacted my credit card company. So much for standing behind your customer! CAPITAL ONE told me Raymour showed then a paper stating I signed and said everything was in great condition which is a lie and if they did submit a paper stating that it is forged. Which is illegal to say the least. They also said they offered me store credit but they never did. Needless to say at this point I want my money back and would never give them another penny. So as of now CAPITAL ONE charged me $1183.54 as well as RAYMOUR &FLANIGAN Sent me a bill for the same amount. Buyer beware STAY AWAY FROM RAYMOUR & FLANIGANS And I would think twice before you use MASTER CARD OR CAPITAL ONE. VERY VERY BAD BUSINESS !!!! Lesson here is CAPITAL ONE NOR MASTER CARD stand behind their customers...... STAY AWAY
