i've been a citibank client for 28 years. the new citibank branch at 2553 broadway is AWFUL. Customer service is terrible. I opened a savings account with a personal banker for the promotional rate savings rate in April 2023. I discovered in July that i received no interest instead of the promotional rate. I met with the branch manager twice. Each time, she promised she would correct the error. She did not. And she does not return calls or emails. The branch is filled with clients who are angry with the poor service. This Citibank branch and branch manager is THE WORST. AVOID.

I could not find my debit card and decided to go to this branch to withdraw some cash. I provided my U.S. Passport and my checkbook, and the teller took forever to complete my transaction. First she asked for my SSN, then when she saw my checkbook said she didn't need it. I confirmed the withdrawal amount and signed for the withdrawal on the signature pad. Then she hands me a post-it and asks for my New York Address. So I gave her my California DL for proof of address matching my checks. Then I wrote my New York Address on the post-it (unsure what this is needed for and what it will prove for my identity). She was so rude and incompetent. She mumbled something in Spanish to her co-worker. Very unprofessional. Citibank needs to do something about their employees customer service and competency in verifying a person's identity. English should be spoken in a bank in the U.S.A. when the customers being served are English speaking. And if you have something bad to say, don't be a coward and please say it to my face in a language I understand. 'Murica!

This Citibank has a serious problem with aggressive panhandlers. I have gone to the ATM in broad daylight and witnessed a woman going down the line at the ATM, looking at people's bank account information, touching them to get their attention, and asking them for money. I have also been during the evening and been asked for money from a homeless woman who had apparently set up camp in the store, and by a man who was standing directly by the door outside. I wish security guards were present for more of the time to protect customers.
