We dropped in after a long day of travel and the owner/coach, Tom, was very welcoming and accommodating. He and his staff are enthusiastic about the place and CrossFit in general. They are working hard to make the place better than they found it. They have lots of drop-ins, so creating a good culture there has got to be tough, but I thought the place was great. Lots of equipment options and they've told us that there's dedicated lifting space downstairs and we're going to check it out tomorrow. The place is far from pristine like some newer gyms, but this has character and a garage gym feel and I love it. Thanks Tom!

I dropped in to CrossFit Hell’s Kitchen while on a girl’s trip to NYC. Tim was quick to reply to my drop-in request, and made sure I had all the information I needed before I showed up. Once there, I got the same treatment I would expect at my home gym. Tim helped me find a good scale for the workout, and pushed me throughout the WOD, just like my coaches back home. I highly recommend CFHK to anyone looking for a friendly space to drop-in!

Very rude people. Couldn’t drop in because I didn’t sign the waiver in advance (this takes 1-2 minutes tops I’ve done it before). Did not offer to sign me into next class. What a joke. Every other CrossFit I’ve been to is welcoming and nice. Take your business elsewhere.

I spent a week in New York and dropped in at Crossfit Hell's Kitchen. My experience has been very positive since the very beginning when connecting with Anthony via email. The classes were very challenging and it was really lots of fun with some furry friends keeping us company while we were working out!A great experience and I will definitely come back when visiting New York next time!

Place ok, didn’t find any locker room nor shower. Bathroom could be cleaner.Hence, really pricey for a drop in.Good advice from Anthony.

Pretty disappointed. For drop in you have to email ahead of time, communication was poor, coach was late, can’t do open gym, and wasn’t impressed by the coaching. Wasn’t worth my $35

The space and equipment were what I’d expect for NYC. Great programming. But zero coaching. Even for the 2 RM bench press (nobody had spotters) and 2 RM deadlift, nada. Disappointing for a $35 drop in fee.

This is the worst drop in experience I've ever had and I travel a lot so that's saying something. The owner, Anthony, coached the class and it seems like he doesn't enjoy his job anymore. Even though two heavy lifts were programmed that day (shoulder press and back squat) there was no demo or discussion of standards with these movements. There was no class warmup. He basically said warmup on your own. He was on his phone instead of coaching. Even little things, like he didn't introduce visitors. Heck, he didn't even introduce himself when we got there. It feels like he is just phoning it in. There's just no enthusiasm at all. The gym itself is in a really cool space and the giant fan helps cooling in the summer but the experience is just bad. I've never experienced anything like that before, it's just bad coaching and gym ownership. The gym must depend on drop in business to survive because there's no way they have regulars.

Everyone was very welcoming and would 100% go back next time we're in NYC.

Seriously, what an a****** the owner is, I show up 10 minutes before class and asking I can drop in he says no because I don't have an account and it takes more than 10Minutes to set up. His words were well it takes more than 10 minutes and then you'll be late. Not because they're full or anything just because it may take more than 10 minutes, and no attempt to be friendly or anything. And this was a 10am class with like 5 people in it, it wasn't busy. Hey how about you work with me and try to get me through it and I'll be a few minutes late. I've been doing CrossFit for 13 years and this is the rudest individual I've ever encountered. I travel frequently and have never had an issue dropping in anywhere in any city or country. Don't come here.

Nice enough gym, kinda dirty but good location downtown. Not really friendly or welcoming, but they’re probably burnt out on drop-in athletes? I love going to gyms on vacation and talking with locals, but nobody seemed interested. Also the $35 drop in fee seemed pretty steep. All good; was here for a workout and got a solid Murph in.

Great facilities and programming, awful environment. I don't know if it was just a bad morning, but this was by far the worst drop in experience I've ever had at a gym. The coach asked for my name when I came in, and after that didn't say a single word to me for the rest of the workout. Not one member or anyone in the building acknowledged me, explained the workout, or walked through the warmup. When the workout was done the coach moved right to the next class without a word. I felt like a ghost while I was there. I'm definitely looking for a different gym next time I'm in town.

Nice box to drop-in while in NYC. The fee is 35usd, you should register online and pay in advance. They also have a cute dog.Coach Anthony provided good explanations while leading the class. There are no showers though, and the bathroom could be improved, it was very dirty and not well kept. Other than that it's a nice place.
