Impossible to reach pharmacist by phone. Personnel are increasingly removed from the public they are meant to serve. Do better. Not everyone is able to walk into the pharmacy.

The CVS at 253 1st Ave (between 14th and 15th) is hellish. The self-checkout kiosks (that you are forced to use) never, ever work, so you have to waste an extra ten minutes or so being "taught" to use garbage technology that, of course, doesn't work again the next time you are there. The pharmacy there is constant chaos and misinformation. The misinformation is very dangerous for people who have been given prescriptions. I do not doubt that deaths have occurred because the workers in the pharmacy are so consistently inept. That pharmacy really needs to be shut down. Now I know: hell on earth is only three blocks from my apartment.

The dingy, dreary atmosphere is bad enough. The shoplifting got to the point that many things are behind plexiglass and you have to wait for someone to unlock the cabinets. For the most part, the staff are pretty good. But management is beyond lazy. There was a not inexpensive item that I had seen on the website and in the app as being in stock in this store. When I made the mistake of going in the next day (after checking again that it was supposedly in stock), I saw that the spot on the shelf where it would be (behind the plexiglass - the printed label had the name of it and the correct price) was empty. The manager told me that the items had been delivered to the store the day before, but nobody had bothered to put into the system yet. When I asked if I could buy one right then, because I had come out of my way for this, he refused. He oh so generously offered to call me when it's ready, so that I could run around at his convenience. Hard pass. He literally preferred that I spend my money elsewhere. So did the ironically named "Customer Service" phone operator. I got yessed to death and assured that my concerns would be passed along. But nobody ever got in touch with me about this. That's why I won't even consider shopping there for anything important or expensive. If I can't find it at Duane Reade or somewhere else nearby, I'd rather order from a national retailer than support this local dumpster fire of a business.

TERRIBLE customer service! Charged me for photos and only gave me half, there was a gracious man who worked there who was reprinting it for me and trying to help, but when I went back to pick them up, the workers were terrible. Will absolutely never print photos here again. What awful customer service.

Today I urgently needed a prescription. Arrived to stand in line where after a 10 minute wait, there was an announcement/ the pharmacy would close between 1:30 and 2:00. Made it up to the counter before 1:30 only to be told to come back after 2:00. Returned at 2:00 to be told there would be a 10 minute wait. It's 2:30 and my name was just called to pick up the prescription. Try hiring some additional staff so you don't close for lunch and can actually process prescriptions in a timely way.

It's an ok CVS with variety of selection and reasonable price for Manhattan. The staff totally weirds me out big time. There's an African guy ask me about my job and want to give me his resume. A Muslim girl very short greet me at the front ask about my top then says its revealing. I am fully cover. She probably means its tight on me. So weirddd the staff there.

This review is for the pharmacy which is typically overwhelmed. The line is long and there are bags of prescriptions piled up all over the place. Do not recommend getting a flu vaccine there as despite having an appointment and checking in via mobile on arrival was not able to get an answer on when I could be seen for more than 15 minutes. Spent another 20 minutes waiting before I gave up. Go to the well organized Walgreens on 4th Ave instead.

This is the WORST PHARMACY EVER!! These people are lazy and useless!! Anyone who gives them more than one star is lying!! I went to get my medication and the couldn’t find it… maybe if they would have checked the draws they would have found it! And this is not the 1st time that this happened!! CVS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!

Half the merch is locked up and requires an associate to grab. Screw you cvs.
