The people who work here are really nice and the place is clean and well-lit, but the prices are outrageous.

The location at 578 Third Avenue NY NY 10016, has a known(Manager is aware)Rodent issue. At this point instead of taking proper precautions this establishment now has a cat. When you enter the location it smells like a zoo not a supermarket…Buyers Beware!

I want to preface this review with one very, very important point: I love the staff here. Are they the nicest -- I mean, no. But I don't really expect any staff in NYC to be "the nicest," let alone mildly nice. But every time I strike up a conversation with one of the checkout clerks or the people stocking shelves, they're always cool and they all have a good sense of humor. So, I love them. I want to make that clear. The reason why I'm giving this place one star is simple: their prices are BEYOND insulting. I truly don't know how they're still in business. Items are anywhere between 50% to 150% more expensive than anywhere else (I'm not joking). They're charging bodega prices at a supermarket and they know they can get away with it because West Village has no options for grocery stores. It's price gauging and it's not cool. The chain needs some accountability so that's why I'm leaving a public review. If I were you, I'd walk down to Brooklyn Fare or just order online. If you're just buying for yourself a few items here and there, you'll be fine. But if you want to buy groceries for a few days, you'll be spending a lot of money for very basic offerings.

Not only is the store extremely expensive, it's just overpriced. Everything they sell is about 25% more than any other store in the area. And if that wasn't bad enough, everything rings up costing even more than it's marked. Every shopping trip I go on has at least one item that charges me $.50 to two dollars more than it was marked. I stopped going to the store for 10 years because there are so many other great options in the area. I highly recommend not shopping in D'Agostino's considering a tiny can of Campbell's chicken noodle original soup is almost 4 dollars. They're disgusting.

OK, this place used to get one or two stars from me - but there is a new manager, and he has the right ideas....so I am going to give it a chance! Early signs are that he gets it....fingers crossed...
