Out of stock often, sketchy location. I called in the morning to confirm a prescription was received, they said they would fill it, went in later that day, said it was on back order and no one had talked to anyone that had called.

Please stay away from this pharmacy. I am not only a provider myself but am a patient there too. Many, many issues with getting prescriptions filled as well as the pharmacists and employees that assist pharmacy staff are nasty and unpleasant. Seems like they take great joy in arguing with the customer/patient. They are slow, inconsistent and there is always an issue with the prescription to be filled. My advise, find a local pharmacy and support local business over this poorly run/managed, pharmacy chain. As a side note, my husband was picking up a prescription for me and noticed a guy shoplifting, filling his back pack with various items. When my husband, who is NYPD axillary reported to the front counter, they told him basically we will not stop them, they can have whatever they want.

Take your prescriptions elsewhere! The pharmacy is the worst. Pharmacists are pleasant but appear to be overworked and staff is rude. They also rarely pick up the phone when you call with an issue with your prescription (which is frequently delayed).

West Fourth Street Duane Reade Pharmacist, Lori Ann Foster Centeno discovered a major problem with a new prescription I was picking up. When she checked it against my other prescriptions she found it had the potential for producing an extremely harmful side effect and suggested I check with my physician. The problem arose because the physician who wrote the original prescription was not associated with my primary hospital. And his med was not on their chart. Ms. Centeno's professionalism, and attention to detail saved me from a potentially serious medical problem. Thanks to Duane Reade for hiring a careful and concerned staff.

Everyone who works at the store is very nice and helpful. But this is the prison Duane Reade. 90% of the products are under lock and key. You have to find an associate or whatever they're called these days to unlock the doors so you can get your deodorant or hair pins out. From the minute you walk in the door, this incredibly loud thing beeps at you. It just about took my head off. This Hass to be hurting sales. But frankly who cares? Just another corporate behemoth squeezing out the profits but too cheap to hire an in-store shrink person. Bye-bye

False advertisement: they have a sign that says covid vaccine today - it’s a lie

Plan on waiting a long time for your vaccine appointment. Showed up early with all the paperwork done. Still haven’t been seen and it is 20 minutes after my appointment time. They are not busy.

This is about one particular pharmacist and doesn't reflect my experience with the store employees. The store associates are very helpful but there is one pharmacist who is totally unprofessional and slow. I picked up an Rx and bought a couple of other items. She took a couple minutes to come over to me and then proceeded to pick up the Duane Reade phone (not her own) and take a personal call. She informed the other person that there was now "a rush of patients" (me and one other man) and she thought she'd have a break - it was 9:30am, they open at 9. I can tell you now that she will be in a suburb of new york on the 13th and got engaged to her Persian boyfriend. I learned all this while she threw my purchases into a bag on the floor. Congrats to you. It took 10 minutes longer than needed.

The Duane Reade by Walgreens located at 4 West 4th Street in the NoHo, Greenwich Village, East Village and West Village neighborhoods is in the heart of of NYU territory. This corner location appears to be quite small on the outside, but when you re inside, the store is actually very big and pleasant. The shelves are usually very well stocked, and the staff is actually quite pleasant.Unfortunately because of the COVID-19 aka CoronaVirus Pandemic, there are virtually no NYU students around, and it is like a ghost town. Can you imagine NYC, “The City That Never Sleeps”, now appears to be “The City That Never Wakes Up”. Not only is NYU Territories empty, but the entire nyc is empty.
