Regardless of the food but I feel I had to share this to avoid creating the wrong expectations. To give you details in order …We got to the place , me and my husband made the long line, that took a long time to move and one of the employees came outside asking which group had 3 people to sit them. The crazy thing is that the people that were group of 3 that arrived last minute got seated immediately and the employee didn’t follow the line order.I just feel it’s very disrespectful to play with peoples time like that. Aside from not taking any reservations. If you like to take the risk , I’m sure you’ll go the first time and probably never return for the wait. It’s 2024 people and they don’t take reservationsNot to forget it was raining too on all the time we waited.

Waited over an hour outside (watched multiple groups of people who "knew" someone inside form a separate line and get in before us). After an hour and a half, we finally made it inside. The service started off strong but there's only 2 waiters - the host and another waiter servicing the entire front room. With pasta at $40, I was expecting a larger portion and more flavor. The Cesar salad ($27) was 6 pieces of romaine lettuce and nothing to write home about. They also charge a $10 "splitting" fee when sharing plates...Best part of our meal was the homemade limoncello at the end. Unfortunately, I'm satisfied I experienced it but, sadly, NOT worth the hype of 1k reviews and wait time. Save yourself some time and $ and check out another NYC Italian favorite.

Very pleasant and authentic place. The pasta was delicious! But so expensive that I had to cut my stay in New York short by a week...

Never a bad meal. Linguine Vongole is perfect for Fridays in Lent or anytime. Wine list is good, but could use a little help. Solid

Emilio’s is wonderful! Grew up in NY going to amazing Italian restaurants in the city. Then we’ve lived in CA and now FLA and we come to NYC and go right to Emilio’s!

Stepping into Emilio's Ballato, one is immediately enveloped by an atmosphere redolent of a bygone era, a culinary time capsule nestled amidst the ceaseless hustle of New York's streets. The occasion? A friend's birthday—a celebration demanding an establishment of not just repute, but of soul. Guided to our seats in the back, a secluded enclave offering respite and privacy, the stage was set for an evening of epicurean delights. The spaghetti and meatballs—a dish so often relegated to the realm of the mundane—here, is elevated to an art form. Each strand of pasta, a golden thread in the rich tapestry of Italian cuisine, danced with a sauce that sang of tomatoes kissed by the Mediterranean sun, while the meatballs, those tender spheres of gastronomic joy, nestled within like pearls. It was as if nonna herself was behind the scenes, orchestrating this symphony of flavors with a maestro's touch.Yet, in a plot twist befitting a culinary Coen Brothers' narrative, Emilio's Ballato eschews the amber nectar of beer. A bold stance, akin to a trattoria in the heart of Rome deciding against serving pasta. This decision, daring as it may seem in a city awash with craft beer aficionados, lends an air of authenticity to the experience. It challenges the patron to dive deeper into the Italian viticultural tradition, exploring the vast tableau of wines that Italy has to offer. In essence, Emilio's Ballato is not merely a restaurant; it is a testament to the enduring allure of Italian cuisine, unyielding in its commitment to tradition in the face of modernity. The absence of beer not withstanding, it remains a beacon for those in pursuit of culinary authenticity, a place where the spaghetti and meatballs are not just a meal, but a journey through the heart of Italy itself.

I’m sad to have to say it’s just not worth the hype at allllllllll to me. I don’t know if it’s because they know they’re hyped up so they don’t feel the need to cater to people, or they only care when famous people come in, but the older woman waitresses the least accommodating/lazy/rude and couldn’t care less other than to just take your order cause she has to. There’s no ambiance, and you just feel like the least important person in the room even though you’re a paying customer. My experience just was not enjoyable and i won’t be recommending/ be returning

Once you taste the food, you understand why they have such pride in it! The absolute best ravioli I've ever had in my life.

We were disappointed with the food. We were hoping at least one of the dish would have stood out to us. But none was spectacular. We really wanted to like this place..but the shrimp linguine was sour not sure if they overdid it with the lemon sauce? The prices were steeped too..$38 for a plate of linguine that didn’t meet standard was disappointing. we had better linguine that costs less! Wanted to send it back but decided not to. We were thinking about taking family there but not sure anymore due to underwhelming dishes.
