This so called grocery store is price gauging I don’t know how anyone can afford shopping there. The managers are rude and some of the food is spoiled. I feel the lower East side needs a better grocery store than this.Everything is way over priced.Thank god for Trader Joe’s and Target…Terrible store

I have visited this store maybe 15-20 times since I moved here. My only concern, which I must list first, is some of the pricing. While the produce is semi-affordable, things like ice cream, popcorn, and cereal seem to be about double what I might pay in an average grocery store (granted, this is New York!). The team members, however, are great. I haven't dealt with management, but the associates have all been so friendly and helpful to me. I've never had an issue bringing in reusable shopping bags as one reviewer states. Sometimes I bring my backpack in and they don't stop me. There may be some privilege involved there, but I have assumed bag check was optional and that any bags not checked are subject to search, which is fair. Shoplifting is an element that drives prices up, so instituting safeguards to curb it makes sense to me. Believe me, I'm all for anything that might help make it more affordable to shop here more consistently.

I tried to shop here after doing my grocery shopping at another store. I needed to buy a few more items the store was out of. When I entered, I was stopped by the security guard who told me I had to check in all my bags. I decided not to go in because I was in a rush and there were a bunch of people checking in their bags and strollers/carts. Not sure why they would pay a security guard to check in/out bags. I have never seen other groceries store do this. Probably won't shop here again.

This store must be broke. It's EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!!! The saddest thing is it's the ONLY store nearby. A bag of Oreida Fries cost $9.96 and the shelves are OVERSTOCK I'm quite sure there are a lot of expired food. And getting assistance that a whole completely different topic. Sad that there's no STOP AND SHOP, FOOD TOWN or KEY FOODS nearby. Happy shopping and GOOD LUCK

I suggest a boycott of this store. Tried to take my own personal shopping bags at the door. No explanation. Why? I have shopped her for 20 years and what--do I now look suspect? I believe in recycling and reusing. Don't make me pay for your bags. Don't put someone at the door like security who cannot explain what he is doing. Makes NO sense. I'll stick with Trader Joe's and Fine Fair!

it has become way to expensive to shop here.but sometimes they throw sales.the workers are friendly & very helpful if you need anything.UPDATE:::12/15/23I don't understand why there are two or three cashier's especially when the store be kinda full.sometimes you want to do a quick run in and out and you can't because the line be long with 2 or 3 cashier if you're lucky.

This store consistently overcharges relative to the posted prices on the shelves. Beyond this being fraudulent practice, checkout process becomes extremely long as most customers need to dispute at least one item on their bill.

I've been shopping when it was first called co-op Supermarket in the 70s.Then FineFare now Metro Acres. I never had issues with any cashier ever. My complaint goes to a manager. My husband and I went shopping on Sunday. I saw the syrup was on sale $3.99 so i grabbed a bottle. While checking the receipt at home I noticed they charged me full price. I went on Tuesday with the receipt, while there I decided to shop some more I gave the cashier the receipt to show the error she said its not on sale so she showed the manager and he stood there doing nothing. There was a long line so I ran to get the sale sign the manager took it out of my hands and took his time coming back to the register. He was angry and told me next time bring the bottle back. I asked why he said its says it on the receipt. and if I keep talking he wasn't going to honor it. I told him he cant do that he said yes he can. I said The customers always right he said no I said yes he said NOT TO ME!! I showed them both the flyer where it shows the syrup on sale. I said you should've known it was on sale he said he didn't have to. The receipt says "All returns must be accompanied by a receipt. I guess he doesnt know how to read. There is no phone to contact corporate because I would!!

Shopping at this store is the most unpleasant experience. Most of the staff are not only unfriendly but actually rude. Almost every visit, at least one item was priced incorrectly. I've only found one manager to be friendly and helpful. He's gone out of his way to order out of stock items, assists in finding products and addresses issues with mispriced items. We are lucky to have a TJ's on the corner, so I can limit my visits to Metro Acres. The dichotomy between Metro Acres and Trader Joe's would make an interesting case study of business management. The staff at Metro Acres are rude and unfriendly (with a few exceptions) while at Trader Joes nearly all the staff go out of there way to be helpful, friendly, not to much they have much better prices. Can you imagine a cashier at Metro Acres asking "were you able to find everything you were looking for?"

Great supermarket. I started coming here because of how fresh everything is and the better quality they have. I noticed since I started shopping here food last longer and tastes better. Everything is clean friendly staff and cashiers.

Metro Acres Market has one important aspect-Location, location, location. On certain levels they've managed to provide prescient alternatives to their off label brand- parade- as well as staying open till 10 all week.

I have purchased pork from this super market several times and it was bad. It , smelled like it had been sitting for long time. I finally brought it back and asked for a refund because I was sick of it. I scanned the meat area to see if it was clean. Of course there was pork chops laying out on the cutting counter. Initially I didn't have the receipt. I gave the manager the meat back and asked for a refund. He said he can not do anything for me without it. I said I spoke to you while I was here yesterday. You clearly remember me. It's all the original packaging. He said no. I later returned with my receipt and he still refused to give me my refund. He said I didn't have the item with me when he took it from me earlier. (As you can see in the photo). Then he proceeded to tell me because I took his picture and pictures of the store he would not give me a refund. He then asked me to leave which I did and he called the cops on me. I waited for them to arrive even after the store closed. I'm definitely reporting them to the BBB and health department.

Only use cash!!!I used my card here and was charged $50 more! Didn't notice till I got home. Went back and complained and was told that mistakes can happen. No credit. No refund. No apology. This supermarket sells products that are about to expire with a mark up. Their meats are absolutely disgusting and will be rotten one day after purchase.Stay clear and go to trader Joe's for fresh foods. This place is only good for canned goods and a few other items.
