I try to shop local, so I stopped in for the first time recently during a stretch of severely cold whether to see whether they had jackets for our 50-pound pup. They did have a good selection, but none just right for our boy. The man helping said he would look downstairs to see if there were any more jackets down there. In the meantime, I asked the owner whether they carried prescription diet foods. The owner then took the time to ask questions about my pet and his current situation. The other employee returned with a jacket that fit well, looked great, and was priced competitively. I didn't think I would have luck with the jacket, so I was happy to get this for the cold weather. I was very surprised and even happier when the owner then threw in a $30 bag of high quality kibble to try as an alternative to the major supplier brand. This man hadn't seen me before and couldn't know whether I'd ever return again. With service and kindness like this, he can be sure that Furry Rascals is our new favorite local pet store.

This is a tiny shop but well worth the visit. They have a lot of quality wet foods for cats and freeze dried options.I was able to pick up some harder to find wet food brands like Rawz and Koha and Instinct. Rawz and Instinct doesn't put gums into their foods so if your cat is sensitive to them this shop is good place to shop.Dry food options is slim pickings as they don't have too many to choose from however they do carry Origen brand dry cat food.Dog side is always larger and more robust than cat which was also quality. They have a small section of toys and grooming supplies.Bonus is the manger is quite friendly (the store cat) and very adorable. If I'm not mistaken the cat is a Ragdoll/Norwegian Forest mix. I was able to pet the cat and was given plenty of affections from him. This shop is a local one in the southern end of Washington Heights off the corner of 158th and Broadway.

Great store for your pets. They provide great recommendations if you can’t find exactly what you’re in need for your pet.

I went for a cage and they had what I needed. Furry rascals is a decent pet store. They have almost any pet supply you would need and a decent variety of pets for sale.

Sent my son to buy dog food real quick and the price clearly says $16 but he charged my son $18 and said price changed. This isn’t my first time going here. But it will be my last. Don’t like people taking advantage of others especially the young. Wanted to support our local stores but not at my expense

Good healthy cat foods available and there are cats in the store so that is a huge plus. I love to meet other peoples cats.I hear they have free delivery and it would of been nice to receive but they don't pick up their phone! How else can I place an order if the only form of communication is a phone that nobody picks up? genuinely upset that I can't rely on them for the services they advertise. I am hopeful something changes in the future.

My cat was vomiting for a day and a half and I came into the store hoping for a solution. The cashier (owner?) suggested a few items which worked perfectly. I’m so grateful that he helped me avoid a costly visit to the vet!
