Excellent service. Very caring and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this neighborhood pharmacy over the Chain pharmacies in the area.

I've been a client for three decades - there is nowhere else I would ever consider going to for prescriptions, shots, or pharmacy purchases. Ivan's is an oasis of small town goodness and care/compassion in the midst of a cold cruel city. I am so grateful to Ivan, Carmen, Khan, and the entire staff for their kindness, efficiency and continual good cheer. They put the 'neighbor' in 'neighborhood'.

After 50 plus years of painful arms and egg-sized lumps from a flu shot, Ivan bet me that I wouldn’t get a “ lump” post flu vaccination.YOU WON, Ivan. And this from a retired physician who gave no less than thousands of flu shots in a 35 year career.Congrats.Everyone, RUN, don’t WALK, to get your immunizations at Ivan.PS. Did I mention it was also the most painless vaccination I’ve ever had in 71 years.Bertha Bauer, MDAddendum: Just had RSV which some patients say is a tough vaccine due to headache. Again, nothing. No pain, no side effects due tomIvan using the Pfizer over Glaxo vaccine. Stupendous .

This place is great! I needed to buy expensive medication, without insurance, for my dog. The price at Duane Reade $500, reduced to $170 with a coupon from GoodRx. One of the pharmacists at Duane Reade pulled me aside and told me to go to Ivan Pharmacy, where the same exact medication was $60. Ivan got me the prescription quickly and efficiently, and at less than half the price of the chain pharmacy. Definitely going back, and already told my vet so she can send her other patients there. Thank you!

The gold standard. Ivan know his customers by name, greets you and will bring out your prescription when he sees you walk in the door. He is knowledgeable about your prescriptions and has the latest vaccine information... and he has a great touch giving vaccinations. Honestly, going in to Ivan's feels like I'm in a small, friendly neighborhood instead of a big city. Ivan also has a great children's book selection and nice small gift items. His staff is great too. Enjoying getting medicine was never something I expected but I do!

I don't often write reviews, but in this case I will sacrifice some of my privacy in the interest of the public good. I am a recipient of traditional Medicare. I just left Ivan Pharmacy with 180 pills to control my blood pressure--a 90 day supply. The cost to me was $45. An hour earlier I had gone across the street from my apartment to CVS Pharmacy on Amsterdam Ave to get the prescription filled. The price there was a bit over $200 for a 60 day supply. This illustrates why we need the government to be able to negotiate the cost of prescription drugs for Medicare recipients. Such regulation would save taxpayers and beneficiaries billions of dollars a year. It also illustrates why large pharmacies like CVS should be heavily taxed. Transfer your prescriptions from CVS to Ivan Pharmacy and save.Ivan Pharmacy is also an outstanding neighborhood retailer for quality children's literature, art supplies and toys. It's a great place to shop for that present for the birthday party coming up soon.Make-up, medical supplies, underwear, socks, water bottles and so many other miscellaneous items are available at Ivan Pharmacy. Shop local!

Unethical and morally compromised. Ivan refuses to fill insulin prescriptions for type 1 diabetics. I don't know how he is not shut down for such behavior. 0 stars.

If 0 stars were available I'd choose that as an option. I went here to get my Covid Bivalent vaccine. The pharmacist could not have been more rude and obnoxious. First he was running late, which is fine I understand in this city everyone is running late. However when it was finally my turn, he didn't even want to answer simple questions like possible side effects (I guess I could just google those... but then again, why be a pharmacist if you don't want to answer...). Next he was extracting the liquid into the needle and talking to someone behind a tall counter (I prayed he was paying attention). Here's the really great part though, as he's about to jab me ... I instinctively moved back at the site of a needle. Instead of being nice he raised his voice at me and said "I HAVE 6 OTHER PEOPLE AFTER YOU" and without any further hesitation jabbed me.I didn't need him to hold my hand, but if my reflex at seeing a needle is to move back a bit, and I didn't even say a word, his was to be rude. Maybe this isn't the right profession for ya bud.I guess that's the kind of service/world/city we live in...Just thought a private pharmacy would treat you better than a big chain store (boy I was wrong!).In short? Go somewhere else.
