February 2024 by yanelis olivencia
Went to gotham because my dog had an ear infection on the 12th and Dr. Mansfield was quite nice and accommodating and did check koko very well. So I scheduled a follow up with Dr. Bryant for a recheck on the 6th of February. Unfortunately Koko got really sick after her appointment on the 12th so I took her to Bondvet and they diagnosed her with diabetes. I started the treatment process with them but Koko wasn’t eating a lot and I tried everything to get her to eat. So when the recheck came up I told Dr. Bryant about Kokos most recent history and overall medical history just to be told that I should put her down! I felt as if she was not listening to me. I tried to show her that I had a glucose meter so that I could be taught how to use it by Dr. Bryant but every time I tried to mention it I was cut off and told that if I can’t afford Kokos treatment I should put her down. I had Kokos medication for her other illness, cushings and Koko was on insulin but she was eating so little I was scared to give her full doses. I felt so hopeless and judged for doing what I can.Anyway, we are now in Florida and Koko has eaten full meals and has been getting full doses of insulin and planning to start trilostane soon.

Thumbs down to Dr Mansfield. Professionalism sucks. And should be questioned. Her level of empathy to owners and their animals is a 0. Its all about the money. Beware of ... Code of ethics need to be reevaluated

So today I went to go to the vetenarian to get my cat her vaccines. When I walked in a heard a very strange noise, almost like a growl but it sounded different. I was a little startled but figured it was just a large dog, everything seemed normal until the veterinarian told me to follow her… what I saw next I cannot even put into words, this was single handedly the most villainous, frightful and just down right pernicious thing I have ever seen: I will attach a photo to show what I saw but I am still in shock. Fortunately, I later found out that they ended up saving the Gorilla, so I will definitely be returning. This is an experience I will never forget.

I am so grateful to the staff at Gotham for fitting our dog into the schedule this morning. Phoebe had broken one of her claws and was clearly in pain. Dr Bonnie Brown made her full so much better. I can’t thank her enough.

Whether I'm dealing with an emergency (a sick pup) or an annual visit, I always receive prompt, professional, courteous service for my dog. Dr. Brown works to make both my dog and me feel comfortable. Her knowledge and care reassure me that my dog is in the best hands. Gotham Veterinary overall has great service with afforable prices.

Just had the worst experience here. Kosovsky was the vet. I asked her very basic questions about safety of anesthesia for my cat and necessity of x-rays, and her tone was very condescending and she was short of details or explanation. She came out the gate arguing. I found this so insulting. The price for a consult was already $375 so one would think that price includes a comprehensive discussion with the doctor but apparently that's too much to ask.I'd stay away. She treated me like garbage.

We found Gotham Veterinary Center vets careful, compassionate, and informative as they treated our older cat Danny Boy's final illness, which was a sudden medical emergency. Gotham is reasonably priced for New York City, and they are accessible. We have used them before and will use them again.

My two dogs are now 14 years old and going strong. We're grateful to Gotham Vet Center for their years of care and skill. When our male seemed to have developed a serious illness a few months ago, Dr. Bryant was wonderful -- with him and with me and my obsessive questions. She's a great doctor: both knowledgable and kind. And Arlo has recovered and is doing great.

Have had 2 or 3 appointments since transferring my cat’s care here. My most recent appointment I did not have the best experience with Dr. Mansfield. There were gaps in my cats vaccination schedule from that transfer of care and things getting lost in translation. Her demeanor was extremely condescending and came off rude as if she were upset with me for being non-compliant when I did not realize I had been. I was able to get my cat the vaccines and tests that she needed in this annual visit but her demeanor during the process was extremely off putting. My prior experiences were fine, the front desk staff are lovely and the wait time to be seen has consistently been moderate (10-20 minutes). Will be back but will request a different provider.

Gotham staff are nice and they handle emergencies well, but this is definitely only a vet to use if you’re able to be very involved in tracking your vet’s health- for example, they had listed vaccines incorrectly for my pet, they shared test results for a different dog, and when we went for an annual checkup the vet basically didn’t do anything, just answered my questions. They are cheaper than other vets in the area, but you’ll be making it up with your own time…

After taking in a stray cat, I booked a wellness appointment with Dr. Bryant for the last appointment the next day. The whole staff were very gracious and understanding and checked myself and the cat in quick and efficiently. We found out almost immediately he had ear mites, they drew blood for lab work, and did a full wellness check. We left with a new cat to love, the proper medication and guide to distribute them, and lab work done (with results that did come in the very next day - super fast!). Dr. Bryant is very professional, to the point, and great with animals. I highly recommend this place for long term and short-term veterinary care. The staff are friendly, love animals, and want to care for your pet! Thank you, Dr. Bryant and your wonderful staff!

My bully rescue dog was a patient at GVC for 2+ years while we lived in the area. We went in for everything from annual check ups, emergencies/injuries, stool samples, to nail trims. He does not have any long term medical conditions so I cannot speak to that. The team was always responsive and helpful, we were always able to be seen promptly. We did go through 3(?) different doctors during our time there, although all the doctors were wonderful and knowledgable. My dog is a nervous guy who doesn't love being handled but the vets, techs, and assistants were always able to provide a caring and professional touch.
