This is a good place for steak. I highly recommend picking out your own steak (Wagyu) from the reach in refrigerator. Mixed reviews about the service....some people are pleasant & others don't really want to be there. Try the peppercorn sauce with your steak. A bottle of Two Island cab goes well with the steak. The grapes come from Australia and the processing is done in Bali. I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area & frequently visit Napa. I was surprised by the flavor of this wine.

Gourmet Garbage would be a more appropriate name. This place is overpriced and cares nothing about customers satisfaction. I purchased a bag of tangerines for $7.99 that sells at Trader Joe’s for $3.49 and 3 were rotten. I threw a couple out and went back with one and they wouldn’t give me an exchange. Not even a single orange ! This is not an isolated incident Many of their items are not only double the price but ring up incorrectly at checkout. A bag of carrots which cost $3.99 at Trader Joe’s cost $6.99 and rang up as $7.99. The employees are overworked and their disgruntled attitude spills over on to the customers. I live nearby and have shopped there for many years out of convenience. They know me and still don’t care. Avoid shopping here unless absolutely necessary.

ok it's handy if you live nearby but way overpriced for the quality especially for the produce.. feel like they are taking advantage of the lack of supermarkets in the area and need a reality /price check, just cos people in the neighborhood pay a lot for rent doesn't mean you can fleece them, seriously.. I don't mind the self checkout, however it exists because they quickly laid off their staff without a care.. let's see how long they last.. can't fault the staff they are super nice

Needs better management at 585 hudson Location. I can't personally speak on other store locations but personally this store doesn't care about employees mental health I was terminated for crying I needed SUPPORT NOT DISCIPLINED. Never have I ever been written up or had a warnings for anything. my floor manager was presented downstairs in a room full of cameras. Couldn't she have seen that I needed help of course it wasn't no phone extension on the wall so how was I able to call I did the right thing and presented myself to two managers currently on the floor and what did I get sent home early and fired on my day off but I drove into work my next work shift and I'm fired had me working until? the store opens to fire me ‼️ that wasting my gas and my sleep I could've stayed home plus my explanation of getting fired wasn't a clear one just this isn't working out an incident that not even on me I'm getting fired ‼️‼️ I was wanted to let customers know how the management is at Gourmet Garage west village..

Welcome to our neighborhood in the West Village. Our sidewalk is not your garbage dump all day long. None of the other supermarkets in the area - D'Agostino and Brooklyn Fare - do that.

I don't know who owns this business but the manager or clerk (maybe the owner) that was working this morning, a very friendly black man, went out of his way to help my family when my 5 year old daughter face planted this morning on the sidewalk out front and I noticed they were open so ran in for help. He brought us ice and paper towels and was so kind and thoughtful. She was bleeding a lot but ultimately ok. I was so appreciative of his kindness and generosity and wanted to let this business know that this man is a gem! And if he is reading this THANK YOU! Sasha is doing just fine (few chipped teeth and a cut up lip and her face is pretty banged up). Wishing you all the best - this business is lucky to have you

Terrible! Everything about it has gone downhill except the prices. The automated checkout machines were the final nail in the coffin. Why can’t they employ 4 or 5 people for a pleasant checkout experience. The lottery ticket machine…. Come on, really? The lettuce in the salad bar looked like a swamp. The Krispy Creme kiosk is nice, but it doesn’t belong in Gourmet Garage. Trader Joe’s is a fraction of the price, far better quality of food and a pleasant experience. I don’t think GG will be open too much longer.

There’s two gourmet garages close to soho. This one is actually in soho, the other is closer to Tribeca. My only gripe is this one does not have any sushi.

This past Friday I bought salmon here. I was awake all night with 4 bouts of diarrhea from eating it. Worse, the person with whom I shared the salmon dinner had to drive to Rhode Island the next morning and he had to stop twice beside the road on I-84 to soil the highway with this horrendous "past its prime" salmon. Not a pretty sight for motorists driving by who were busy screaming at him.Thank god he had the NY Post with him, about the only time that worthless rag was good for anything. So avoid their salmon unless having dysentery appeals to you.
