Surely the worst grocery store on the east side. Ridiculously overpriced (cheapest eggs are $5/dozen!) Incompetent and rude staff. Highly limited selection. Save yourself the agita (and a boat load of money) and go to Trader Joe’s 6 blocks down

I don't know how this place has anything other 1 star. I only come here if I need something in a pinch and I can't find it anywhere else nearby, for less. Food quality (e.g., produce) seems poor. Prices are obscene (huge markups on pretty much everything, even compared to other UES groceries). Easily the worst grocery store I've ever been to. Not even close.

Selection is decent (which is really their only positive). Food quality (e.g., produce, bread) seems poor. Mislabeled Prices, low quality meats & produce, prices about the same as a 24hr bodega. They’ve turned the plastic bag ban into a profit. The law is $0.05 per paper bag. Ask for paper bags and they charge 5x that, each, because “they have handles”…. Looking at the receipt on my way out always leaves me furious.(I know it’s not a lot of money, just makes my blood boil that they can get away with this)Trust me, if you can walk a few more blocks, go to Trader Joe’s on 60th.If you want to spend that much money on quality groceries at least go to Whole Foods/ Morton Williams and get your money’s worth!

Cashier refused to bag the groceries, then refused to give me a full receipt, then complained about me to the customer behind me.

Spotlessly clean and a genuinely polite crew always makes for a nice surprise.

Easily the worst Gristedes in all of NYC. Whether it be the check-out clerks blatantly ignoring you OR overcharging for items as priced on the shelves, expect to be disappointed and taken advantage of by this fcking AWFUL GRISTEDES (you are just a grocery store..... get it tg....)

$13 dollars for a box of coffee filters. How does this place stay in business? I avoid this place, and am reminded why when I make the mistake of needing coffee filters.

We went here to buy some drinks and I was delighted to see how clean the supermarket was. Of course, I wasn't so happy with the prices. Everything now feels so expensive because it is. I'm glad to see that they are stocking the shelves. They do have senior discount days which helps seniors so that is nice. I am glad that the staff is attentive as well. Keep it up. But I don't like that there isn't a lot of variety of the items. Hard to find mixed salad. That shouldn't be. Make a little variety and I'll be happier!

Convenient but pricey. Only go there when we are too lazy to go anywhere else.

I gave this place more than a try to convince myself it is a convenient place, my trials ended up with one try that I will never step in this place again.I have bought a whole watermelon with $26 that was yellow and rotten inside. The $26 went into the garbage.See the photo attached. The most expensive watermelon and the worst one.Not to mention how many times the strawberries were bad as well as sweet peppers.I will never step down into this place again, I gave it more than a try because it is the closest grocery store to my home.
