I have been shopping at H Mart whenever I am in NYC. It is amazing how this store utilizes every inch to stock rice, vegetables, meat, fish, packaged noodles, snacks, tea, fruits, frozen foods and prepared food (banchan) plus cookware. What is more amazing is how they constantly restock the shelves. There is a freezer stocked with individual packages of ice cream bars mostly from Korea, if you want to pick up quick snacks. Some kimbap, triangle shaped rice rolls filled with various fillings are by the cashier. It can be overwhelming to shop with so many other shoppers and narrow aisles. I bought their ready to eat vegetables in one package for $12.95 - it had mushrooms, radish, carrots, soy bean sprouts, cooked radish, cucumbers, bracken (fiddlehead) plus gochujang sauce. At the cashier, look down and I grabbed Lotte xylitol chewing gums. While lines can be long, their cashier is fast and efficient that the lines move quickly. So be ready to pay as soon as you line up.

This is a Korean oriented Asian supermarket. It has all the ingredients, fresh vegetables/fruit, and meat options one would want. The main challenge is that the walkways are a bit narrow but it does the job for the shoppers.

More like 3.5I would say the H Mart at this location is smaller than the one around East Village / NYU. This location doesn't have the designated hot food and fried chicken section as the other one which I'm ok with. This H Mart wins with its convenient location right in the middle of Koreatown close to all the restaurants and major transportation. The store is packed from to ceiling with myriad of all kinds of items: produce, drinks, prepared food / banchan, canned goods, nuts, snacks, ramen, frozen food and household items. On the flip side, with them optimizing every square inch of the spaces for packing in all the goodies. It could get a bit cramped when there are a lot people inside. They also have a prepared food section in the front by the checkout registers - a great variety of mochis, walnut cake (that looks just like actual walnuts! Haha), shrimp / macaroni salad, sushi, etc.

If you're around Korea Town and looking for a place to grab groceries, essentials, grab and go cold food, candiess, sweets and more - this is the spot. I walked because I had time to kill and walked out with yummy egg omelet and jelly dessert snacks! The store itself is small (more longer than wide) but they carry most Asian (or Korean/Japanese/Chinese) things you need for your home or your stay in the city! Lots of noodles, fruits, snacks, candies. Kitchen supplies, skincare, fish, kimchi etc.I walked out with a large Korean egg omelet that I would take with me on my flight (like having some type of asian protein with me when traveling) and some jelly dessert snacks! Service was quick and easy! Would come back again for more items next time!

This is a small market with great variety and the prices are very reasonable. When you enter on the left you will find rice, milk, yogurt, prepared meals, pickled veggies, kimchi, sauces, beverages, and an extensive fresh produce section. In the next aisle you’ll find dry spices, snacks section, freezers with ice cream, fruit pops, mochi, mandoo, frozen boba, meats, and seafood. In the last aisle is an extensive Ramyeon section. There is so much more but it was a bit crowded so I didn’t fully explore everything. I was specifically looking for the ingredients I needed to make tteokbokki at home. I grabbed everything except I forgot the fish cakes. Definitely need to go back. I also grabbed some banana milk, chapagetti jjajang noodles, samgyeopsal, buldak carbonara, and pocky. All of my groceries totaled only $48. I will definitely be back to stock up on more of my favorites. The first thing I made when I arrived back home were the chapagetti Jjajang noodles with cubed samgyeopsal and egg. I added a bit of gochujang for a bit of spice. It was so delicious. I also made the carbonara noodles. We washed down the savory meal with banana milk. It was the perfect comfort meal.

They wouldn't let me walk in while drinking my boba. No drinks allowed in a supermarket, really???

Brought matcha ice cream in the mart and it was so good. I went with my friend and her mom a while back and look at all the different items that they sell.

This location does not have hot food. With that being said, it has a wide range of Asian/Korean staples. I think their freezer section is top tier and has a wide range of vegetables and frozen foods, especially their selection of dumplings. Their ramen selection was lacking for me, but that is forgiven (they had the ramen I was looking for). They take cash, card, and contactless pay options. The store is very clean, stocked (nicely), and bright.

Nice staffHowever, you have a very little space to circulate and the market is always full. Not really convenient but it's well located in the center so we can not ask more

A great store if Asian food is on your shopping list, endless options for whatnot, from simple instant noodle soups, fresh beggies and fruits to complex and rare to find ingredients needed to get your Asian dish the deserved attention. Everything was great, incl. The NewYork style not smiling check out clerk.
