Feels like this location has taken a dive post pandemic. Home Depot used to have very knowledgeable and helpful people working for them, but I visited recently and the quality of their newer employees is pretty bad. Some are barely employable and don't seem to want to do their jobs. They really should have just paid more to retain their older and more qualified staff, cause the newer, cheaper employees are detrimental to the company. Maybe it's good for their stock price and ceo pay, but it's bad for their customers and their brand reputation. Overheard one guy complaining loudly to his buddies right after another customer asked him where something was; basically told the customer why was he asking him where a plumbing item was when he was standing near the paint section. Later, my cashier was busy complaining about the company and his drug use to his friends instead of ringing people up. Home Depot is quickly becoming more like McDonalds and the people running things need to wake up.

Love that you can order online and pick up your purchase in a locker with a code they send you. I bought this Hamilton Beach effective clothes steamer that works great on hard to iron clothes.

This is my go-to for my DIY projects. I always find what I'm looking for, the store is easy to navigate and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The only con would be their lack of automatic doors - which for disabled folks, elderly and moms with strollers, is not ideal.

I bought $3287 worth of merchandise last month. I had to return unused items still unopened in perfect condition. The clerk named MONIQUE at the return desk accused me of having used them and 'borrowing' tools. WTF? Never coming to this location again.

1. Ordered paint with particular color 2. Spent $6 to go to and from store via bud 3. Arrive home, paint is white, not particular color 4. Called customer service, need to return gallon in person; (no apologies offered) 5. Pay another $6 to go to and from store 6. Needed to re-explain situation at customer service (again, no apologies offered) 7. Paint department mixes paint Conclusion? 1. In NYC, we don't have time for mistakes like this 2. Home Depot Customer Service is pitiable!

Good Home Depot with good plant section. Staff is generally helpful. Great that they open early if items are needed before a job.

My husband and I have attempted to use Home Depot for our apartment renovations and have had a very poor experience. First, we ordered toilets from the store. Our initial order never arrived and we found out it was canceled because FedEx declined to receive the package because it arrived at their facility damaged. Why weren't new toilets automatically sent? On our second attempt at ordering the toilets, we were told they would arrive on a Sunday. When they hadn't arrived, we called to find out that the order hadn't gone through. Again, no explanation as to why. Upon our third attempt at ordering the toilets, only one toilet arrived safely and the other was AGAIN damaged and rejected by FedEx. Yesterday, we placed the order for the FOURTH time and we were told that Home Depot couldn't get us the toilet we selected until next Thursday. Our second issue involved the in-store window treatments. Upon completion of the measurements for the window treatments, the men handed us a card that said to visit your 59th Street location when the measurements were entered into the system. Yesterday, we received a call saying the measurements were in and that we should visit your store. Today, we visited your 59th Street and Third Ave. store and were told they "couldn't find our measurements." Subsequently, we were told that the 23rd Street store has our measurements and they couldn't be transferred to the store we were currently sitting in. Our sales associate tried to call the 23rd Street store and was not able to retrieve the measurements. Therefore, we left the store very disappointed in another Home Depot service.

If you have ever shopped at Home Depot you are likely to already know they are generally unhelpful in the store and you shop there when you dont need any help, you just want to pick something up. What I didn't know until today is that ordering plants online from Home Depot is more than a waste of time. I tried to cancel my order five days in advance and was told I could not - I was told to refuse the delivery. I waited all day on the delivery date but they didn't show up. They showed up the next day and left the plants on my doorstep without having had rung my bell. Look at the photos to see what I ordered and what I received - the pics say it better than I can so I'll leave it with do yourself a favor and don't order online plants from Home Depot the product is poor and there is a great deal of trouble around receiving and returning it.

Amazing Home Depot. Some of the kindest and most helpful staff I've come across. Organized and clean. 10/10.

I've visited this store on several occasions and met many of your staff, but this transaction was really superior. I went to purchase a rug in person because online gave a limited selection. There were many to chose from and in various price ranges. Titi (sp) was the first person to help me. He very casually walked over and assisted me moving all the suspended rugs even after telling him I was only window shopping today. Titi pointed out the stock numbers I would need when ordering. I went back about a week later and Joe assisted me. There were several complications that he either solved or found the right person that could solve the issue. One problem being that the order number would not scan at the checkout. Damaris (sp) knew everything that was going on. She knew how to process the item and more importantly, how to have it debited through my husband's Home Depot account in another state. When I finally could set a delivery date, I spoke with Sharon in Customer Service. She had some trouble locating the rug on the computer and had to make a few trips to find it so it would be delivered. Thank you for having such knowledgeable and persistent staff who take such pride in what they do.

Do not buy major appliances through Home Depot in Manhattan. We bought a washing machine. The third party HD used for our delivery and installation (Temco) is borderline non functional. It is the only third part HD uses in Manhattan for delivery and installation. We needed a certificate of insurance for the unit to be delivered and asked a week in advance for it. The woman working in Temco's office could not follow simple directions and filled out the COI wrong three times (seriously it just needs two types of insurance marked and our names and the building name). Then she stopped relying to emails for 24 hours. Our delivery came and left because we could not accept delivery without the COI. The delivery driver refused to reach out to the front desk for us. I spent approximately two hours on the phone with HD for the first attempt. The delivery was rescheduled to the following Wednesday (thank goodness bc it took until Tuesday to get the proper COI after getting a HD manager involved). Our delivery driver called 30 minutes before and asked what he was supposed to be doing for us because he did not have any other units on his truck. They literally forgot our washer at the warehouse. We called HD again and were told the next delivery date would be two weeks from now. We asked if it was possible to have it moved up to which HD said they would call Temco. I told the associate that they would not answer the phone and that when she got to be caller number one it would hang up on her, to which she was a bit rude about. 15 minutes later she comes back and was like "you were so right." She then escalated the issue to management. A week later they moved up our delivery date by one day. They showed up to the apartment at 8am, to which when then had to beg the building to let them in because deliveries are not accepted till 9 but of course we had no idea when they would be showing up and could not inform them of the 9am start time because they don't answer their phone. Then they installed the washing machine incorrectly. They hooked up the hot to cold and we had to pull the washing machine completely out of the closet and reattach the hoses and put in back in. Throughout this entire process HD told me once the delivery was complete they would offer me compensation for this experience. I called and they offered me $150. I said I thought given prolonged issues (it took us an entire month to have the unit delivered) I thought it was worth more. I was told I needed to speak to a store manager, who was supposed to give me a call back but never did. I called back again a week later and spoke with Alex in Resolutions. He began by asking me how much I wanted. I obviously was taken aback and explained the situation and asked how much he thought was fair. He made me give a number to which I said $300. He said he was willing to give $200 after listening to "my side of the story." (I was literally like what?? My side of the story? This experience is completely documented and there are no sides-- it quite literally took a month to receive and was installed incorrectly). I accepted the $200 (yes, I literally had to haggle with him. At which point he said he "didn't like to play games"). His entire tone suggested that he was the aggrieved party, and I was just like I'm asking for what I was told by your associates to ask for multiple times along the way for my trouble! He then told me the $200 would be refunded back to the account, processed the refund and then told me I would have to go to the store to receive the refund. I asked if I could just have a gift card instead and he told me that it had already processed and there was nothing he could do. I said that I never expected to have to go to the store and that it was out of my way and would obviously be more time out of day on top of the 6+ hours I had already spent on this. He said he "had done everything I asked." And I honestly said come on, it's obvious I didn't expect to have to go to the store and it's fair I'

My boyfriend took me here to get my first plant and I was really shocked by how large the section was. The woman who assisted us, Shauna was extremelyKnowledgeable and helpful. She took care of us the whole way through helping choose a plant that will live in low light and still fulfill My aesthetic requirements. She helped us find a stylish and large enough pot. She even walked us throw the steps as she repotted the plant. Before we left she gave me a run down on how to care for and help my first plant thrive. She really did her job and happily which is so rare to find in New York City. You can tell she has a special interest in plants and was genuinely personable. Thank you Shauna

I am here to get paint for the home of my dreams. I picked out some paint colors and wanted samples to test. At the paint desk the older gentleman said " we hate doing paint samples" and ty something standing next to his associate actually laughed. Well don't give me snark - tell your company Home Depot you don't want to do paint samples and stop telling your customers your job sucks. I was excited to do this - and you made me so sad with your attitude. He left the paint and walked away without event saying anything and passed it to his coworker Ty to finish. Here is a hint - I'll go to Sherwin Williams on 30th and 2nd in the future since they are in the business of selling paint. Home Depot don't offer services if your employees intend to complain the whole time and make the buyers feel like crap.
