I go out of my way to bring my items to Housing Works. Every time I've gone I have also checked around; there is always something interesting. A warm place, sometimes with a long line, seems more upscale than similar companies. Great mission.

I recently donated some books here and the process was quick and smooth. The staff were kind to me throughout.

Housing works was wonderful at one time, but not now. Mush of the clothing is pretty cheesy and there are no bargains at all. Many items are more expensive than the department stores. It's Salvation Army clothing at Madison Ave prices. And you have to suffer with the horrible, loud music.

Eye-caching Artwork & Merchandise displayed as you walk-in to Housing Works on 2nd Avenue, definitely gives a good feeling that our donating items would be taking care for customer to shop. Awesome windows displays as well. Highly recommended this location.

Interesting items here- unfortunately I didn't find anything to buy, but I just went to look. Everyone is friendly here so that's great. There are a few locations of housing works - 90th and 2nd and Flatiron and Gramercy area. I think this one's the best items. You can also go to their website for their auctions: It's definitely a nice store to look around and I appreciate thrift stores!! My husband usually has better luck than I do, but I am not giving up!

Im from out of state and I went out of my way to find this particular store. The prices are higher than expected and the variety of items offered is limited. Staff is friendly, so that's a plus. Overall, stop by if you're in the area, but don't go out of your way. You won't find a diamond in the rough at this place, and if by chance you do, you won't be able to afford it.

Huge huge thank you to Bella who was amazing today! She had such good energy and was beyond helpful and efficient while the store was swarmed on a Sunday. Fab prices and great selection -- everything was unique and tasteful in great condition.

Often I find good value items of clothing and housewares and books and DVDs/CDs. I'm happy to shop resale and help support a worthy cause.

Staff is friendly and helpful, whether when you're dropping items off or shopping. As a shopper, this store is very organized and well curated. You can tell it's a popular store with the many patrons that visit on a daily. Happy to know that I can shop and donate to help a good cause.

They’re very selective with what they take for donation, not being clear on the phone with what they take. Staff is not friendly when it comes to donation.
