Its very organized but most things that you would like or be interested in has a sold tag on it already One time the a blue couch that i was interested in was sold for a week and just stayed just for show to bring traffic Prices definitely went up and thats not the definition of vintage thrifted nor close to but a trend

Overall very disappointing, they have raised their prices - $55 for a wool sweater in good condition, but nothing special ?? These are DONATIONS, HW is not paying for one single item, and some things are damaged, but they do not appear to check seriously. Since the Goodwill on 72nd Street and the 96th Street Salvation Army have closed, everyone donates to HW so there are mountains of donations but no improvements. One really wonders who is making money from all of these high prices ??

The store is well organized and clean. They seem to have some decent things. But I thought the jewelry was overpriced for what it was. Mostly damaged or in some way not desirable.

Their prices are asinine for a thrift store! $25 for a belt , $350 for a mirror , $50 for a shirt and more. It’s like they’re selling new things for those prices but they’re not! Crazy

I enjoy the search of finding treasures. Home works offers a collective selection of things. I usually find vintage fashion. On my way out, I stop to Organized my buys, when I noticed Miles Davis, Kind of Blue CD. JUST WAITING FOR ME!

I was here looking for some last minute clothes after losing luggage to the airport and what kind of thrift store sells used button ups for 40$??? I’ve been to other nyc thrift stores but the prices here are so high you’re better off just buying new clothes! Awful!

I arrived at 4:59 to donate items and a woman behind the door in all black would not let me in to simply drop off items (that are heavy and I carried multiple blocks). I showed her my phone, the time, and she just stood there until it was 5 pm with a smug look on her face. For a place that runs on donations, you would think your employees would have more courtesy. An experience like that is enough to deter someone from donating to this place again.

I am a CD collector but limited funds for stuff other than essential items. Until recently the CDs were $1 a piece. After their big spring sale last week, I go in and the CDs are $2 each. Okay I said, I am cool with a sleight increase in price and I am okay with charging for per CD for example in sets of two and three. But when you charge $10 and $15 for a single or double CD for some of them, it is disappointing. Yes I understand the monies go to programs to help those with HIV and who are homeless. But that with the increase in costs of records and DVDs also at that location, I feel they are catering to the upper class who live in the neighborhood, not other middle class and working class people. Plus management and some of the staff are arrogant which upsets me more!

This thrift store is alright, but suffers from some major drawbacks. The biggest is that the prices are extremely high as well as inconsistent with quality. Fast fashion items and extremely cheap home goods are often priced the same or higher than the item would have been new. Other nicer quality items are priced even higher despite being damaged (today I saw a Gap merino sweater priced at $40 even though it was covered in holes). More subjectively, I'd say that the style of items trends toward what appeals to older generations, so I personally have to hunt pretty hard to find stuff I like. On a plus side, there's pretty good turnover so there's new stuff every time you go!

if there were a Zero rating, i would give this shop an even lesser rate. the manager is rude, unhelpful and just plain mean and nasty.the prices are extremely high, and what isn't priced the manager guesses at a price. she quoted me $25 for a pair of jeans that i then found the same pair on the rack in a different size for $5, She did the same thing with a different item i found. Shop retail or on ebay--you'll at least know you're not being taken advantage of.finally, every retailer in the city and in the world that offers racks of clothing offers a bathroom for customers. i wanted to shop further but was told the facilities were for employees only. This is a travesty. i left because i needed to use a bathroom.i bought a couple of things, but i assure you there are too many great second-hand stores in NYC to ever subject myself to this manager again. i remember pre-covid when a couple of girlfriends and i would make a beeline for this store every Saturday and buy all kinds of great finds. Now the choices are not good and not in good shape. This manager needs a manager! none of us will be backThis business may be dependent of donors, but it is as dependent on customers--she needs to realize this and get an attitude adjustment.THUMBS DOWN!!!

A big CD and record buyer. The prices are cheaper than other thrift stores. But my three stars are that some CDs put for sale are missing CDs. I am not sure if the sellers(hope not) or others buyers rip off the CDs. Still a good find for other stuff

Wouldn't take my donations today even though I had big cart full of them outside the door a full five minutes before closing time. Website says they're open until 7 pm and when you call (which I did before I went), an outgoing phone message says donation hours are until 7 pm. There were three employees inside and they walked away to the back of the store to avoid having to tell me to my face why they wouldn't do their job for an additional three minutes, which is all it would have taken to complete the donation process. Don't tell the public one thing and then do another. I know people are busy and have other places to be. We all do. I will be giving my donations elsewhere.

Really great for house decor, accent pieces and maybe even the shoes if you’re lucky. Other than that the clothing selection isn’t the largest but they do have some quality pieces here.
