Very impressive selection of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses etc. All in the 25-50$ range from what I saw. Love the social mission! Not a great shop if you’re looking to thrift for “stuff” — mostly clothes here

Their best selection was of furniture and homewares. Not a ton of apparel, mostly modern not vintage. Excellent shoe selection!

Good place. Some decent clothes and very good prices actually. Really cool furniture inside. I might come back and get something for my apartment. Good men's section of clothes. Spacious inside and the store breathes a little.

I'm speaking to the selection, prices and experience of the housing works thrift store, not their mission or charity. Absolutely everything here is overpriced except for maybe glassware. This is a place you could maybe find a deal on a mirror or a frame, but as of today there is a desk "marked down" to $970 near the display window. Dresses that are factory seconds go for $40, dirty shoes for $50+ Their paperback books are cheap but hardcover and art books? Forget it. This is a place to go if you want to feel warm and fuzzy about your shopping, not to get a good deal. If you are looking for truly cheap clothes and housewares, check out the salvation army half a block down 23rd street. I do believe the housing works charity helps people and the money goes to a good place. It just doesn't correspond to a good shopping experience in the store.

Thrift store supporting the fight against HIV.

They will price an item for more than it originally costs. How do I know this? I have seen items with the original tags still on them priced by housing works for more than the original cost. Other items are priced higher at housing works than they are on luxury consignment websites. This is not a “thrift shop”

Housing Works is already one of the greatest organizations and enterprises to ever grace New York City. From Health Care to Housing, Mental Heath to Substance Abuse & Harm Reduction services, Covid-19 Vaccinations and Boosters, and the great Health Homes program, Charles King and his team of dedicated people at Housing Works have done more for people living with HIV than...well, anyone. Part of their funding mechanisms come from operating Book Stores and Thrift Stores, with the proceeds and profits being redirected into direct client services, like health care and housing. The Housing Works thrift stores have a reputation for having very high end, high quality merchandise at competitive prices (for New York, at least) and the store in The Gramercy section of Manhattan, 157 East 23rd Street to be pricise, is a perfect example. Fantastic place to shop for quality goods, while knowing the proceeds and profits are going to the most worthy of causes. So, 10 Stars! 5 stars for the Organization and 5 more for the store on East 23rd Street.

A smaller, less stocked version of the Chelsea store -- but good finds nonetheless. The store's modest size allows for a "quick" shopping trip where you won't be overwhelmed with everything, everywhere. I was able to grab two belts (Iman Global, Fairwin Tactical) and an animal print blouse that just so happens to pair well with the Iman belt. I didn't even realize it until later on, I was just grabbing a cute #BNWOT $5 belt! __ IG: @DCthriftish I #thrift and I know things. #DCthriftish #DCgarb #DCpoptags #DCfashion

This Housing works thrift shop is filled with a very large collection of extremely useful household items such as utensils, chairs, tables, cabinets, sofas, paintings and some clothing as well. They have many famous brands and the prices are also quite good. They also have an Auction website

Use to be a good place for jewelry until the managers starting stealing and putting stuff in their pockets. Not cool i have seen it first hand. It never ends pathetic stealing donations. Before they hit the floors .
