AT LEAST 1 THIEF AT THIS LOCATION. They stole my dads social security check. He went to deposit the check and teller took it to the back and told him it was done. Only after he asked for a receipt does she go back inside and come out with a hand written note. He realizes the next day that the balance she wrote was incorrect and goes back to see her. He asks about the check he gave her. She refers him to the manager who tells dad that they couldnt find a check but to give him a couple of days and they will find it. He see the manager day later and the manager tells dad to talk to the teller. The teller then tells dad that he didnt come in to deposit a check but only to get the balance on the account. Dad tells them thats nonsense check your surveillance system. They had no response. We contact US Treasury and was advised check was cashed (into a account that doesnt belong to us) Check was dated 11/8/23. Dad went to deposit it 11/10. The check showed cashed 11/13. Treasury will of course reimburse eventually as we claimed the check was stolen. I am going through corporate now to raise hell for wasting our time. I am curious how the branch manager will explain this to his superiors as he didnt seem like he had much to say to Dad. In the meantime we withdrew everything before anything else mysteriously disappears. Just visit this branch at 150 Canal Street NYC and you can see most employees dont have identification badges. The tellers have no ID on the table. You have no idea who you are dealing with here. Same with 800 customer service, impossible to get employee ID or last name or some way of finding same person on the phone. I did finally bully an employee ID number out of the last person. Its like they think they are selling vegetables on the street.

These "wealth centers" are supposed to retain and serve the remaining individual clients of HSBC? Apparently, the Bowery branch is being renovated, but there was no explanation from any of the staff, or from any signs. There was a long wait for service. There was a sign-in sheet, which was full and not replaced. Poor communication about what was going on. Poor service; poor attitudes. The only reason I stayed with HSBC after they closed almost all their branches was the prospect of great customer service. It isn't happening here. I will look for another bank.

Despite having to wait, i have to acknowledge that this is the only HSBC branch where the people were professional and actually helped me with my transactions. It is unfortunate to see the bank struggle and close down the majority of its branches.

Great service provided at this location. Teller was fast moving when I pay my credit card payment at the counter. I had a question about my checking account, a banker help me promptly and resolve my issue. Extremely satisfied with my service

I highly recommend going to this bank to everyone. I would specifically go to one banker, Shirley. I have been banking with HSBC within Chinatown for several years now. She is very personable and is very efficient every time, she is very good at recognizing faces. I have also recommended a few of my friends and family who are looking to open accounts to ask for Shirley.
