An amazing home, with an amazing community of residents. Truly a microcosm of some of the most amazing people that you will ever meet. In addition, the facilities and staff are great! They have the residents needs to heart, and are always there to help when you need them the most! International House should be at the top of your list if you’re a student or young working professional that is coming to NYC

The best two years of my life. I made the most beautiful memories with the most amazing people. I-house is like having a big family living in a big mansion facing the Hudson River. They have different options - from dorms to studios to one-bedroom, two-bedroom private and shared apartments. Rent includes all utilities. Though you have to pay $500 for food. They have roof top, a theater, a pub, a game room, study rooms, music rooms... the list goes on. They also organize great events and invite esteemed speakers and artists. The park next door is an additional advantage. The staff is super friendly. I specifically loved Anita ma'am. She's super helpful. You cannot miss this experience if you are planning to study at a school in NYC or working in the city. Highly recommend.

Honestly, I don't know where to start. I lived in the ihouse for almost two years; ihouse made my NYC experience million times better with such an environment where I felt welcomed and surrounded by international students just like me. It should be called WeHouse, not Ihouse. Until next time!PS. the furniture were a bit old for the south building.

Applied and rejected for admission without any real reason. Please clarify to students who are applying if your resident capacity is full. Their website has no indications of what type of room is actually available and if there is even still space. I wasted my time and a 100 dollar fee.

I stayed at i-House for two months during summer '22 after struggling with finding housing for weeks. The admissions people literally saved me when I was struggling the most. Special thanks to Anita <3The location is perfect for interns working in Midtown. It only took me 30 min to reach the office by subway. The area is not the safest, but i never felt like I was in danger. Just avoid the park late at night. There's plenty to do around 116th, where Columbia is located. The apartment i shared with two other roommates was perfect. I had the most amazing view from my window, and the "small" room was bigger than I expected. The kitchen was big and there was enough room for everyone's belongings. The people working there are all kind and will help you with everything. The food is affordable, and there are plenty of healthy and vegan options. They also organize activities, and they often give away free Broadway tickets! There's a strict guest policy, but I appreciated the safety it ensured.Thank you, i-house!!

Had a great time in I-House last year, everything is nearly perfect. However, this year’s Sunday welcoming dinner had a serious setback. I heard from some of my Taiwanese friends who are staying there that none of the Taiwanese were contacted to represent Taiwan and hold its flag into the hall for waving and displaying. Never thought that a Taiwanese flag would be a political sensitive object in the States. No one should be denied their right to represent their nation. I-House, you could do better!

Safe, convenient, and cheap housing for international student. The rent covers utilities and access to other public amenities like the gym, study center, pub, game room etc. Multiple programs organised through out the year ranging from in-house parties, socials, festival themed celebrations to heavily subsidized outdoor trips to Broadway shows, our station visits, and other tours.A good proportion of residents get the financial aid. Plus the fellowship program is out of the world.

Pros:--The buildings are in ok condition consider their age.--Front desk people are so nice!--Somewhat close to Columbia, but really close to MMS.Cons:--Try to avoid the guys whose first name starts with K and works in the Admissions office. He will blame you for his errors and mistakes. So try to not work with him. The only ihouse employee who is not willing to help.--ihouse will charge you at the first you move in for the money you may not spend, be prepared with your money.-Be prepared with extra money before you arrive, cause you do not know when they will kick you out.Good luck to you all!

Claremont Entrance Security Guards were thorough and prepared for new arrival of summer interns. Unloading was easy… and on this day… found street parking a few car lengths away from loading/unloading zone.Program Director greeted everyone! The building appears to well kept, entryways clear of clutter and facilities personnel all around.

I have been renting rooms in the US for six years since I was an undergraduate. I have to say that iHouse is the best place to live in. The relatively cheap room prices, clean and convenient food, 24-hour study rooms, sports facilities and entertainment rooms fulfilled all my fantasies about the accommodation environment as a student. Before I moved here, I rented a room in the neighborhood at almost double the price of the room, and sometimes had to endure the noise of roommates bringing people home at midnight, rude doormen and public facilities that were not maintained by anyone. Then I applied for iHouse, and I have to say that this is the best choice I made during my whole master's period. The food in iHouse is also healthy, and my enteritis has been relieved a lot since I came here. It is a pity that I can only stay in iHouse for 6 months. Due to the pressure of my graduation thesis, I didn't know too many people from IH in the last semester, but I still would like to recommend this wonderful place to everyone. I have to say there may be two problems here. One is that COVID-19 prevention in the South building is not very strict, and people on my floor sometimes borrow fever reducers from the group. It was a bit of a worry because we shared the bathroom on the same floor with the same gender people, so I often need to take off-peak showers to avoid being in a mask-free environment with other people around me. Another problem is that the heating on the 9th / 10th floor is a bit too hot.

It's iconic. Lived near the top floor, with a direct view of Grant's Tomb and Riverside Park. It was inexpensive by Manhattan standards. Room was not air-conditioned, so the hottest summer on record was a tough one. Fortunately, the practice rooms downstairs were cool, so I just practiced more. I remember they offered fun things for people to do, like dance lessons.

Lamentable. The noise makers are at it again: it's not even 7am and there's a man blowing leaves - actually nothing since there are no leaves on the side walk. ALL THEY DO IS MAKE NOISE ALL THE TIME. How SELFISH and INCONSIDERATE to their students and to their neighbors.
