It's about centering, strengthening your inner self, alleviating suffering, and increasing compassion for self and all around you. What's not to appreciate?

I attended a two-night Catskills Weekend Getaway and had a largely peaceful, introspective experience. The building I stayed in is newly-constructed, and the room was tastefully furnished and spotless. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The vegetarian food provided was inventive and largely tasted great. If I have one complaint it's that the main temple wasn't open/available often for silent, individual meditation on our own time. After finding the temple was locked a couple times, I inquired and was told that the "public hours for the Temple are Friday-Monday from 1:30-4pm" and that it was otherwise open during classes/prayers only. I had anticipated having more access to the meditation area. The room was also a bit warm during the classes. That said, I did enjoy both classes; the teachers seemed genuine and I felt re-inspired to take up a more consistent meditation practice. Luckily we had great weather, so I was able to take advantage of lovely grounds and various walking trails. Overall I had a nice time, and I left with a sense of appreciation for the weekend getaway.

Kmc is my favorite place to spend time. Teachings, teachers & community are welcoming. It’s like jumping into a bath of peace each class. It’s a miracle that NYrs can find peace of mind right in the city! I always walk away with practical ways to apply the teachings.

This place is my refuge from all the craziness! I never thought I’d find a place that made me feel so included and supported. The teachings are unbelievable and the people are my extended family! If you never thought true happiness was possible, this place will prove you wrong!

A great place to visit for learning to see life from a new and freer perspective. Glad I stopped by for a class, and I am looking forward to seeing more from their center. The instructor was superb!

After reading a review response from the center that the atrium (open space) was indeed open (and reasoned that the person must have come during renovation), I attempted to visit the atrium and was not only denied access but was treated with condescending, sarcastic, and hostile behavior by three women at the desk who seemed to enjoy the sense of bullying. When offering to share the review response stating that the atrium was opened, the main woman interrupted to claim that it doesn’t matter what the center said, she’s the one running the show today and that she’s not going to “argue.”When leaving, all three women said “have a great day” waving their hands sarcastically, emphasizing the rhetoric behavior intended as hostility. After this experience, I echo what a previous review has mentioned. They clearly only care about making money and have lost the sense of meaning in a meditation center. Ego is running this show, and I would not recommend anyone, including those paying for classes, to attend this center if you’re attempting growth in enlightenment. In a city that needs an open space for clarity, spirituality, love, and belonging, this center is anything but.

I went to this center to learn about happiness a while back. It was a multi-part series. About halfway through the class, it turns out that Geshe Kelsang (the founder) had died. Anyway, that made me read his obituary and go on a deep dive to research this organization. It turns out that this organization (as well as Shambhala) are cults. Please do your homework before going here. I believe they are dangerous. Suffice it to say I never went back after my last class.
