This bank has have to be the Fisher-Price of banking. I've been only banking here for little over a month and it has become a complete nightmare. It took me 3 visits to the location to finally receive my bank card which was crazy. Then they froze my account for a week over a wire transfer and still hasn't released my money. I wouldn't let my enemy bank here and is looking to with draw all funds asap.

Update #2: I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Finance Authority. On the top everything explained below, I use my phone for my work, as a Medical Interpreter. I have to put my phone in the Airplane mode in order to work. Today is the second day that I am using my phone calling for their assistance, instead of working. The situation I'm in is very difficult. I cannot access my money in my KeyBank checking account, and I am losing money for not working. Updates: When finally someone answered, he hanged up on me before I had a chance to explain to him that the Fraud Hotline suggested to call the branch as the only way to lift the restriction. The representative that hanged up on me told me the only way to lift the restriction is to wait for the investigation to be completed. I tried to explain to him that it must be another option available for me to access my money faster....he hanged up on me. I rarely complain but the ignorance of the Manhattan branch is beyond my comprehension. The restriction on my account - due to some fraudulent transactions - wasn't supposed to leave me without access to my money. Can't use my debit card. Can't use Zelle. The fraud department called you earlier today (02/07/2024), you did not answer their call. The fraud department representative sent an email asking for you to contact me. Nothing, no response. After calling more than dozen times, I was able to reach Elizabeth, who said she'll call me in a few minutes. Five hours later, no call. I called back, whoever answered my call was rude and showed complete lack of respect, understanding and empathy, she was not interested in helping me. She put me on hold. I am still on hold.

Took over a week to open an estate account even though they had all of the info required. Did not call back as they promised and the branch doesn't answer the phone.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!! OK. So there's no way to give negative stars, but this bank definitely deserves less than zero stars. I went there to close out the last of my unemployment benefits and although I brought the paperwork THEY had sent me listing the amount in the account and two government ID's, they claimed they didn't have the funds and I would have to call unemployment to get them. The number they gave me to call was the Key Bank number not unemployment! They have been using the cash to make money and are making as difficult as possible to get it out. To say they are useless and passive aggressive is giving them too much credit. DO NOT BANK AT KEY BANK!!! You have a better chance of getting your money back from a televangelist or your deadbeat brother in law.

Worst service ever . My company set up an account for the business . Next day comes and we can't withdraw any of the companies funds . We found out there was an issue with the paperwork we sent the correct documents over to the bank . Then today we come back in to withdraw our funds and it's the same problem . now the company has lost a lot money for contracts that we have pending . Please don't use this bank they know nothing about nothing when problems arise . Especially if you're doing business. They will have you open an account but when it's time to get your money it's a problem . We met With the branch manager and nothing was done . I've learned my lesson I'll never bank here again .

I did have an excellent customer service as well!!! I don't get the rattle from others. Moreover, people should be very careful on writing people's names. Negative comments are not helpful at all.

Go to any other bank you can find. Do not waste your energy on this place. If there isn't another bank in your area, you would do better to put your money in a sock rather than this place. They sent me a flyer about a special deal that if I opened an account with a certain amount of money, and then added more to the account within 2-3 months I would get $500. Sounded great! I transferred the money from my main bank account. Then after getting cleared, I tried to add the extra money. Got a message that the 2nd transfer did not go through and that they were freezing the account because of possible fraud or something. So, I couldn't add the money and I couldn't get the "deal". (Possibly part of a scan on their part). Last week I went to close out the account. Their records showed that it was closed back in May. They promised to look into it and call me the next day. NO CALL BACK. I went there and they said a check would be cut for me once they got clearance. They said they would call me in two days to verify. NO CALL BACK. An employee at the bank told me on the side that they frequently have people coming in frustrated with their BS and screw ups. No only do they not know what they are doing, they BS you to get you out the door and then not keep their word. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. I intend to go there tomorrow (my 3rd trip there) to speak to the manager and rip them a new A-hole. Especially Elizabeth who is the teller that lied to me both times. They pissed off the WRONG GUY!

This is a scam, not a bank. I signed up for an account using a $200 sign-up promotion that they were then unable to honor, even though employees of the branch came in person to my workplace (a neighborhood coffee shop) promoting the bonus to us directly on multiple occasions. Meanwhile, the person who created my account entered my name incorrectly, which somehow resulted -not in external transfers and payments being immediately rejected as you might expect- but displaying as processed for up to a week, then being reversed. So since this employee's mistake cost me reversed charge fees and late fees on bills that I paid on time but had returned days later, having this account has been very expensive for me. All the while, I thought that at least the bonus would cover the cost of their incompetency, but it turns out there never was a bonus, just a scam.

I stopped in this branch at 3:05pm on Monday 3/20. There was one person sitting in waiting when I sat down five minutes later somebody asked me why I was there and I said to open a new account. He told me that I would have to make an appointment and come back later in the week because they would be closing at 4 PM and would not be able to see me. Today I tried to set that account up online. I went through the entire process, got as far as sending the code to authenticate my ID and validating it and then I received a message that says "looks like you're not able to apply online. If you'd like to apply, talk with a banker at your nearest KeyBank branch." I guess there's a reason why there's only one branch in Manhattan and not many elsewhere. Not a real bank.

Someone high up in the NY state government must know someone at Key Bank, because I can't imagine how somewhere with ONE location in the city got the contract for the unemployment debit accounts. It doesn't make sense. I appreciate supporting small businesses, but there is so much going wrong here. When I first received the unemployment debit card, I was surprised that the one location of this bank happened to be a block from my house. Cool, right? However the line has been consistently an hour or more long since April. Better options: use an All-Point ATM at CVS/Walgreens. Soooo I've been using those and it's been great...until the ATMs start charging me. It literally says NO FEE on the front of the machine. I've got $10 in fees that the bank won't waive saying it's my fault for using the ATM. Huh? I've basically been on hold with them since October and then this happened again today. Making me crazy! Terrible customer service. I've got perfectly nice people on the phone who can't do anything to help, so I feel bad ragging on them. But I can't be the only one this is happened to!
