I can't believe I'm reviewing a Best Buy but the lack of attention to customers at this location is insane. Worst customer service I've had in a long time. Needed help finding the right screen protector for my phone, got sent person to person. No one was able to help and no one was available for check out - but all the workers were busy talking to each other and ignored all the customers. Not happy

Had the worst Best Buy experience I've ever had as a Best Buy customer for 20+ years at this store. First off, the lack of employees at the checkout and customer service aisle was mind blowing. I don't see how you are going to have a combined customer service and checkout table and only have one employee working it. The line when I got there was very long because the poor employee was helping with a lengthy return and everyone in line waiting to check out were pissed. When it was my turn, after about 20 mins of waiting, I also needed to do a return on an open box item. Something that I have never had any issues with in the past. But this time, after a back and forth between different departments and employees getting frustrated with other customers and the line growing quickly, the vibes were horrible. The employee who was helping me was trying her best but the lack of communication was crazy. Eventually she called the floor manager and told me I can't return this item here because of a mistake in the receipt that the store I bought it from made. After a few mins of back and forth and asking for them to call a manager, which they told me they can't do. He helped me set up a return via ups and print the return label. Throughout that time, the employee helping me was just saying bullshit to me to make me feel "cared" for. But I saw right through him. He just didn't want to do the work. I proceeded to go to UPS and pay $20 for a box for the return of this item. Which I'm now being told will take 10-15 business days to process. I regret not putting my foot down a little more and getting the return to happen in store. But I think this may be my last time shopping at any Best Buy. I am thinking of cancelling my credit card and membership and just sticking to other retailers like B&H or other smaller stores in the city. Over the years Best Buy's customer service has continued to drop and it's a shame it's trickling down into every single store I visit.

I bought a shredder at the Best Buy at 86th and Lexington and paid with my debit card. When I looked at my checking account, the date and amount were correct, but it was listed as In home golf. I hate golf.It appears that a number of people have had this same thing happen to them.What is Best Buy doing? and why can't they get a proper listing in my checking account? Their Geek Squad must be failing.

In order to purchase a new smart tv I needed customer service expertise. A customer service agent with patience, knowledge of the product line and a soft sell approach. Thanks Gabriel for your assistance with my purchase and for doing what you do. keep up the great work and thanks again, it was greatly appreciate.

Terrible experience trying to get a new laptop set up. Was told it would take an hour or two and that someone would call to let me know it was ready for pickup. I went home and waited for a call. Nothing that day. The next morning I logged on the app to check the status and saw no one has started to work on it. I've tried calling for an update. It is impossible to actually talk to someone who works in the store. A call center rep transfers you to a voicemail. My next step is to go and sit in the store and wait for them to complete the setup to see if that will get things moving. Such a waste of time. I'm very disappointed.UPDATE: tTe Geek Squad member who set up my laptop when I went to the store to find out when I would be able to get my laptop had it nearly ready and spent about 45 minutes with me getting some applications set up. He was polite, super helpful and great to work with. Updating my rating from 1 to 3 stars solely for this experience. That said, the store would benefit from having status updated in the app and a direct number to someone working in the store to answer the phone as dealing with a call center rep who is unable to help is a waste of time and a poor customer experience.

After 5 attempts to fix my computer remotely the Geek Squad said I needed to bring it in and reinstall the OS. I go to the 23rd St store and tell the guy that I want it restored to exactly the configuration it is in now, same desktop everything. He asked did I back up my files, yes I did on the EasyStore hard drive the Geek Quad recommended and sold to me. I ask him to check that everything is backed up. He reinstalls the OS and then tells me I have download the backup manually. I said I wanted him to do that, like we discussed. He said he can't do that, I have to go to the 5 th Ave and 44 th Street storeI go to the 5th Avenue store and they tell me they can't do it. What the guy at 23rd Street should have done was backed everything up on one source and the reinstalled the OS and then everything would have been fine.Now I have lost data. Also the remote help was staffed by arrogant people who did not even listen to me and it took 5 attempts by 5 different people before they realized they could not help.So the guy at 23rd street does not know what he is doing or what Geek Squad is and is not capable of doing. The phone support is full of arrogant useless techs. They sold me a hard drive that in the end was useless. They should be ashamed of themselves!!

I think this is the only large electronics chain left. The nice thing about Best Buy is you can actually see the product as opposed to buying it online without seeing the physical item. Another good thing about Best Buy is they actually have the lowest prices I could find on many items. Additionally, if you can find the item online at any lower price, they meet it what's better than that?

I went into the store on 23 Street Tuesday looking for three or four things. One guy in the blue shirt worn by Best Buy employees asked me if I needed help and I told both of them I was OK. It was after I had selected the three items which collectively were worth hundreds of dollars each that I got to witness the real dysfunction of this store. One checkout line had multiple registers but no one manning them. Another location had two registers with two people both helping a single customer. When I got the attention of one, he said to come to the register on the left. He looked at my three items looked around and said, "actually, go to the registers on the other side of the escalators." Thinking he was going to follow me over to the other registers, I proceeded there to find he was nowhere and this station was also without staff. Next to it was another desk, ironically labeled "customer service" but those people said they don't ring things up. I don't understand the business model. They have people who will help you find things to buy and they have other people who will help you with problems related to things you bought, but with all these blue shirts, walking around, everyone seems to be some kind of a specialist with a talent for avoiding eye contact. There were more staff members in the store than customers. talking in clusters, looking busy, but just with each other. Somewhere, there has to be a manager in the 23rd Street Best Buy store who has an awareness of what's going on on the floor. That person must be out to lunch either literally or figuratively. After waiting by the un-staffed registers for a minute for someone to show up, I literally threw my items down on the checkout counter and walked out. No one should have to work that hard to get someone to take their money. I am not going back there.

I went in to buy a simple screen protector. For some reason the covers they offer do not specify exactly which phone it's for so I waited to ask someone for help. I wandered around the store for 15 minutes looking for someone. The only person available to speak said "I don't know. Buy it and return it if it doesn't work". What a waste of time. Don't bother coming in unless you want to get annoyed.

Worst company ever. Bought a refrigerator from them, paid for delivery, installation and taking away the old one. The delivery guys didn't know how to reverse the door hinges (which was pre-ordered), took 1 1/2 hours to do it wrong, destroyed the fridge door in the process, and damaged our kitchen cabinets and the floor getting the thing in the kitchen. Left before installing it because "they were running late". Now we have a damaged fridge that we had to hire other people of a) install and b) repair. Finally they issued a total refund for the damaged fridge except they refunded nothing. Spent 65 minutes with my credit card company today disputing the (unrefunded) charge. This whole thing has been going on for 6 weeks. Total nightmare. These people are criminals

This Best Buy closes far too early at 8:00 PM. This is about the time most young professionals in NYC finish at work and leave to spend their disposable income, so it is surprising that Best Buy doesn't remain open until at least 10 PM.

Customer service is a joke. I received a gift with no return information. They had all the info in the system and could easy help me make an exchange or get store credit. The manager came over and offered zero help. Just told me to try to call a 1-800 number. Offered no other solutions just wanted to get me out as soon as he could

i bought the keyboard for my computer and when I opened it up at home it was missing pieces and a battery Do not shop here unless you time to waste!!!!!!!!! trying to speak to someone on the phone is next to impossible when I did get someone on the phone They could not care less Last time I shop here!
