Employees are late to open. They are supposed to open at 11:00 am on Saturdays; but there is no one here. It seems to me an incredible lack of respect for the time of the clients.

A touch pricey but once you're hooked on the good stuff here you're hooked. On a work trip I swung by here to get some shave cream and other stuff...the staff was kinda more in a rush to push product on me to buy and get out than to chill and ask questions. I knew what I wanted and knew it existed because I've bought it from the San Francisco store but they were rather dismissive. But hey...I guess it's New York.

This review is for an on-line delivery order. I discovered this product line, Malin + Goetz a few years ago when I rented a short term condo rental in Philadelphia. They supplied this product for bathroom use and it won me over. Immediately smelling the gentle scent in the bathroom was very pleasing, subtle and not overpowering. Yet it is easily one I can live with all the time, and I'm not big on scents. The fragrance that attracted me is "rum" and interesting in that it doesn't particularly smell like rum to me, more fresh and not heavy. Using the web site to navigate a purchase is simple and very user friendly. I had an account already so that did help. Placing my order was as easy as one, two, three...done. They immediately confirmed the order. I purchased two pump bottles of the "rum" hand and body wash and one bottle of the "bergamot" with subtle citrus overtones and keep both options for guests in a main bath if and when guests ever return! From a previous order I also keep a pump bottle of the vitamin b5 body lotion, not greasy and easy to apply. I also purchased a "rum" candle that I intend to use in the main part of the house to replicate that sensuous scent from Philadelphia. Great product. The only downside, and I don't blame them entirely, is they use FedEx and my package transversed back and forth across the United States before finally arriving after many days of waiting.

SEVERELY LACKING in customer loyalty. To Whom It May Concern, Good Afternoon. I have just received my items and am excited to try them out. Upon reviewing my invoice/receipt, I would appreciate some clarification. 1) Upon placing my order, I was given the opportunity to select THREE samples to try. I selected: a) NEW. ADVANCED RENEWAL MOISTURIZER; b) REPLENISHING FACE SERUM; c) VITAMIN B5 BODY MOISTURIZER. I only received the face serum & Body moisturizer. Is there a particular reason I didn't get the third sample? I ask bc no explanation was provided. Did someone 'forget' to include the third sample or was the decision simply to not include it... just because? I have made purchases in the past from and actual M+G store and received excellent service and got TONS of samples - anything I wanted... and few new things to try. However, online, I place an order and I can't even get the THREE samples promised? Not cool. 2) When I placed the order, part of the allure was that if I was to spend XXX dollars, which I well surpassed, I was to receive a free 'Mojito Lip Balm'. As you can also see from the invoice/ order slip, this was not included, either. Part of the perk for spending over $100 on products is because I would get to try new a new product. So, 1st, I was slighted with the advertised samples (mentioned above) and now, the 'extra goodie' i was looking forward to trying was not included, nor mentioned anywhere. Can someone explain the gap in communication. 3) Upon reviewing the receipt, am I to understand that if the product does not work for me, I cannot return it? The ONLY refund M+G permits is an 'exchange' or 'store credit' --- IF AND ONLY IF --- the package is returned unopened? So the customer can't even TRY a product from M+G? If the customer buys a product, tries it, and it doesn't work for their skin type, too bad? Is that really how I am to interpret the disclaimer on the receipt? The exact statement being, "Except where refunds are required by law, we will offer an exchange or store credit on unopened and unused items providing that goods are returned to us within 30 calendar days of receipt with proof of purchase". "Except where refunds are REQUIRED BY LAW"? Really? (i.e. "If we really have to, then fine. Otherwise, your money is ours once we get it'). What is the world kind of 'best practice' is this? These are not drug store products. M+G has a relatively high price point... but the company doesn't offer a return policy to get money back? Therefore, if a product doesn't work, bullying the customer into getting another product (by way of 'exchange' or 'store credit'), is not the way to gain customer loyalty. This policy is essentially saying, 'thanks for the money. We really don't care if you like it or not. Not our problem anymore'. Please correct me where I am misunderstanding this policy. I look forward to your feedback. UPDATE: I NEVER received ANY feedback. Retention must not be important to the brand. They lost a loyal customer.

Hey I'm never f****** ordering from you guys ever again. THE WORST. I am beyond f****** annoyed lmao...I know right annoyed over a package?! Maybe it's fedex idk...I've been waiting home for 3 MOTHERFUCKING DAYS...Thursday Friday and Tuesday....fedex telling my my package has arrived and also telling me no one is home...which is absolutely impossible because I have been home on the delivery dates all motherfucking day. I want a refund or I want my f****** package. All I wanted was to order this candle for my boyfriends birthday...that's all. He loves the smell and now this has turned into a huge f****** issue. F*** you guys and f*** fedex

I had a great experience at the SF store (Hayes Valley) with knowledgeable staffs who generously gave me a few samples of the advanced renewal cream, moisturizer and serum to try. I loved the products so much that during my recent trip to nyc, I stopped by the Chelsea store to pick up these products. I spent over $200; however, thinking back, I wished I'd waited and purchased these products from the friendly, knowledgeable staffs at the SF store. During my visit, I inquired about other products, but the staff either said they don't provide samples on certain products and gave me 2 other samples to brush me off. Sorry to say, he could've turned me into a more loyal customer by opening my eyes to other products.

Today I have been greeted with a warm welcome by the service-oriented associate, Freddy. Not only was he genuinely seeking to discover my reasons for my visit, but has also provided supportive detail that best highlights the history of the company, the authenticity to its products and the informative knowledge to better assist with my complicated skin type. What was initially a one item purchase, turned out to be a $200+ multiple sale that was well invested. In truth, I love your products for which I am completely loyal to and with the unforgettable experience I received, I would not hesitate in recommending your brand to others. Thanks again Freddy!
