Lazy lazy lazy. I left my shoes overnight and the guy left a lot of shoe shine caked underneath the monk strap from not undoing the straps and doing things properly. He then argued with me when I pointed it out. $5 not worth it Will not come back.

So, generally this place has been okay. They'll put protective soles on the bottoms of your shoes and shine them up, fine. Their prices are not cheap but they are conveniently located so I've used them. A very big HOWEVER: It appears that even if they cannot adequately repair your item they simply give it back to you half assed and keep your money. I left 2 bags. 1 had 3 zippers to be replaced. They replaced 2 zippers. I got a blank stare when I asked what happened to the third zipper (which I had paid for). I had also left a leather bag with a tear - the repair looked worse than when I'd brought it in. To that, I received a shrug. I am still confused as to how a local shop that advertises a craft/skill could be so unprofessional and complacent with crap work. If you still opt to use them and they have the option to only pay a deposit upfront, I recommend doing that because they are spotty in their delivery and evidently lack pride in their product once they have your cash. Over it.

Marcos gave me an initial price of $25 to change a zipper slider. He said I did not need a ticket and trusted him. When I went to pick up my coat, the price was raised to $30 with no explanation.

I just moved to NYC. My belt broke today and the proprietor was able to fix it within 30 minutes. He was friendly and charged a reasonable fee. Definitely would recommend Marco's Leather Lab

This is a delayed review, but wanted to contribute. Useful neighborhood place for simple shoe fixes. Took in my husband's worn down work shoes - uneven sole wearing, holes, heels gone - about three pair. And they looked great when done. Even took in two leather belts to have more holes put in as I shrink/leather stretches with time. For I think $1 per belt and about 3min of time, I had three new holes in each belt. One belt had one hole slightly out of alignment with the others, but hey you get what you pay for and it was an older belt. Wouldn't take any of my really expensive shoes there, but for simple men's shoe re-soles and belts, it was fine.

I brought my favorite leather jacket to Marcos with a broken zipper, tears in the shoulder and sleeves and terrible wear in the leather. Honestly, I thought the coat was way beyond repair, and I didn't have much hope. I took a chance in the restoration as I figured the $180 would be better than finding and spending over $500 on a new jacket. To my amazement and joy, Marcos brought my jacket back to life. Not only did they fix the noted issues, but they also replaced my pockets which had tears that I forgot to mention. The leather was reconditioned, and now it looks great! My wife has had many pairs of shoes fixed here, and she raves about their work. This shop is a gem with very skilled leather artisans. I highly recommend Marcos. This workshop is a huge win for Harlemites.

Awful service. Awful work. This is not a lab but a slaughterhouse for leather. I brought in a jacket, and was very specific as to what I wanted done. These clowns spray painted it. They ruined a favorite designer jacket. I took it to a few places for help and hands down was told these guys did the worst thing you can do to a jacket. spray paint it instead of hand treat.

Horrible place. Found my gf's expensive bag just laying on the floor at the time of pickup which was probably there for 2 days because they completely forgot to fix it. The bag could have been fixed in 10 minutes. Will not be returning to this crappy place.
