I understand where the staff are coming from, but the store doesn't close at 8:45pm, it closes at 9:00pm

Staff seems less friendly and engaging , than other NYC locations. Times Square store is friendlier to me.

A horrible customer service experience, I purchased a sweater, got a helmet and had a defect in it, so I took it back, new wick, tags, and receipt, I walked around to find the identical sweater to exchange it for, and then the receipt was gone, and they refused to exchange it. do not ever shop at this place, it is a tragic customer service nightmare.

I love Muji. It's one of the coolest stores I've seen. Whenever I walk past one, I must stop in. This is a nice one right on 5th Ave between 40 & 41. It's actually a Japanese retailer. They carry everything from stationary to clothing with something here for everyone. A big selection of generic products. Great kitchen gadgets, drawer inserts, private label aromatherapy. One stop fun shopping and great prices too

I love the 20% discount clothing section. Some good find stone had! This store is pretty big. Checking out downstairs is usually faster than upstairs.

Typical Muji store with really nice decorations and displays. There were many new offerings and a few discounted items with additional discounts. This location has household supplies and furniture. It even has promotions for the Muji Hotel in Japan. Overall, really cool shopping experience.

One of the bigger MUJI locations in NYC - love that they have the MUJI Labo clothing line here. One of my favorite stores to visit!

Had one of the worst customer experiences i’ve ever had at this location today and for someone who worked in retail through school, this is saying a lot.Bought $200+ worth of clothing and realized upon returning home that one small item ($14 worth) was missing. When i went back to request a refund for the item (which i no longer needed as i’d done laundry at home) and a shirt — 2 hours after buying it mind you, and wearing a couple items i had bought earlier that day — i was first made to wait 15-20 mins. when the manager came down she had reviewed grainy security footage where 1) the sales associates back covered the transaction for 70% of the time and 2) the quality is so low that you couldn’t possibly discern whether the item was put into the bag, or accidentally pushed off the table or onto the ground. She insisted that all items were put into the shopping bag and refused to refund me for an item that i never received that most likely was accidentally tossed onto the floor by one of her sales associates!Found it very insulting that after watching footage of a customer buying multiple items — the logic was to then grill said customer, who has no incentive to come back the day of the transaction for a $14 item except if i actually hadn’t received it — she chose to create a situation where i was made to beg for my money back and then try to prove to her that the footage was so obstructed and difficult to see that she couldn’t possibly be certain it had been included. Not to mention that she didn’t bother to bring the sales associate who had rung me up down to confirm that nothing had been dropped before i left AND she didn’t seem to have looked at footage following my exit to see if the sales associate had picked anything up.Why was the responsibility on me to prove to them that i didn’t have a $14 pair of underwear? Why would i have come back so soon after buying it if i was trying to cheat them. Really bad customer service and very rude manager.

A very unpleasant, deceptive and disrespectful shopping experience at MUJI.On August 12, 2023, I came to the MU JI store located at 475 5th Ave in Manhattan, New York to purchase goods. After paying the bill, I picked up the bill and saw that the price of the first product was $24.9 . But the price on the shelf of the product was $19.9. I raised questions at that time, but the casher(JiaZ) immediately argued that it must be wrong! I immediately asked her to follow me to the shelves to check the prices. But when she saw that the price on the shelf was $19.9, she still refused to admit that she was wrong, and she was still looking for various excuses to say that someone had put the wrong clothes. The same material, how could it be misplaced?". We went back to the cashier and this time a young man with glasses (AntonvP) came out and without asking me any questions just said they were right about the price I was charged! In order to prove that I was right, I took him to the shelf to check the price again. When he saw that the price was $19.9, he was still there, making all kinds of excuses to try to sift their faults. In this way, I was in front of the cashier, and because of their "mistake" I was delayed for about half an hour, and they couldn't find any excuses, and finally refunded overcharged me $5.I took this refund receipt and asked the cashier (AntonvP) “Because of your mistakes, I was delayed for about half an hour, and I ran back and forth to the shelves several times for this. don’t you think you should apologize to me”?The cashier (AntonvP) refused rudely and coldly saying: “no necessary !”A male cashier next to me also interrupted and said to me: "There are a lot of people queuing up behind"! Means let me leave as soon as possible.I am so angry to be treated with such rudeness and disrespect! It was the "mistake" of your MUJI staff, which wasted half an hour of my time. The price on the shelf is clearly marked at $19.9. Why did you charge me $24.9? After being discovered by me, they also found various reasons and excuses to shirk responsibility.I don’t know how many customers who didn’t read the receipts were deceived by you and overcharged by $5. Is this kind of dishonesty the purpose of your MUJI’s service to customers? That man (AntonvP) knowing that he was wrong, not only did not apologize to the customer, but also had such a bad attitude, is he worthy of continuing to work in the store? Customers come to your store to purchase based on their trust in your store, not to spend money and be insulted! Finally when I went to that shelf again, they removed the $19.9 price, but they forgot that I had a refund receipt to prove it. I hope that everyone will also check the receipt after purchasing things in the future, so as not to be overcharged by them without knowing it!

Worst muji customer service experience I was at the store around 1pm and one of the staff members at the fitting room was very rude. I was taken into one of the fitting rooms by another staff and a few moments later someone started banging and knocking on my door and asking me to open while I was still putting on clothes. When I opened the door the woman (with short black hair, wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses) just stared and asked me how many pieces I have in the fitting room. I said 3 and she just went away without any context or greetings whatsoever. After I finished trying on the clothes and came out with the pieces to return, she just snatched them away without any words. I used to like Muji a lot and this store has a good selection, but honestly this is shockingly bad customer experience. I've visited Soho and Cooper Sq stores as well and have never been treated like this. I won't buy any clothing items from this store again since this really deters me. As a customer, who wants to be glared at and and being given an attitude for no reason? Is this how you train your staff members?

I love Muji. Their products are always minimalistic with superior quality. This location has aroma diffusers at front so it’s very appealing when you enter the store.

So many home goods, art supplies, and a lot of good basic clothing options. Not very colorful, but quite good quality.

Muji is a Japanese minimalist brand that offers a wide variety of products, from home goods to clothing to stationery. The store on 5th Avenue is located in the heart of Manhattan, and it's a great place to find simple, stylish, and affordable items.I love Muji for its functional and well-designed products. The store is always well-stocked, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I've found everything from great travel gear to stylish home accessories at Muji.If you're looking for a unique shopping experience, I highly recommend checking out Muji. It's a great place to find quality products at a reasonable price.

This place is 2 levels with plenty of stuff. The clothes are very light and good quality with sizes up to 2XL. The stationary is unique with excellent quality. I like this branch because the employees are always available and helpful.

I brought three shirts in different colors for size M for my husband. Unfortunately, one of the shirts didn't fit right. It looked like they labeled for the wrong size. My husband didn't try all three shirts. He cut the tag off because he assumed they were all the same size. Today, I took the shirt back to the store with the receipt. The store refused to let me exchange it for a different shirt because I cut off the tag. The manager was quite ruled. I feel like I'm paying for their mistake.
