Great museum to learn more about the history (and present!) of New York City. Some displays feel a little outdated, that’s why I give four stars. But the compilation of movie fragments depicting various aspects of life in NYC (moving, making money, relationships, work, entertainment) is a must-see and makes the museum definately worth a visit!

The movie on level G is very well done. I love the shops and some of the artwork and exhibits on level 3. The video compilation exhibit is overrated.

A little-known place in New York that is worth visiting, curated settings, unpublished stories of the city, a very beautiful location and an original way to discover the true history of the big apple

My bf and I really enjoyed our visit to the museum. I commented to an employee that it felt fresh and relevant now that the exhibitions were diverse. It finally reflects the NY of today and yesterday, which was fabulous to witness. The Ginger Bread contest was also fun. The lobby smelled delicious!

Lots of stories from the city. I particularly Lives the room that shows movies filmed in NY, film runs for about 15-20min and its so good.Make sure to scan QR to get full lost of books, films and music. There is a ginger bread house temporary Expo and it's just so cute.Entrance is 20usd but up to you if you want to pay less. Store is nice too to grab souvenirs.

Visited a year plus back and just today and was wowed. The current exhibits are especially great - main level covers the history of NYC (with some fantastic data visualizations) and on the top floor they have a wonderful exhibit on NYC in the arts and pop culture.Take advantage of a docent tour or two on the main level - they are passionate and knowledgeable story tellers who will enrich your experience.Highly, highly recommend for New Yorkers and visitors.Budget at least three hours. I was there for nearly five, but was really enjoying immersing in the exhibits.
