I recently started bringing my cat, Olive, here because they partner with Thrive. I used to bring Olive to a Thrive Affordable Vet Clinic when we lived in Denver and was very happy with their care.Through Reade’s Thrive program we are able to receive unlimited free exams, 10% of services, and $5 nail trims. This has already worked out very well as I recently had to bring Oliveto the emergency vet. While the emergency vet was able to rule out certain things, they discharged us with instructions to get a biopsy from our regular vet.Reade was able to fit us in for an appointment the very next day. They treated Olive with care and explained what tests we would need to run as well as things to keep an eye on at home. The only complaint I have is that they don’t seem to have payment plan for large expenses. I have a pretty tight budget and $350+ ($500+ without the Thrive membership) up front is definitely not in that budget. Fortunately, my family was able to help me out, but it would be great if Reade could offer Scratchpay or CareCredit for things like cytology, blood testing, etc.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this veterinarian. We got our first dog a year ago and they have been incredibly helpful for us navigating all of his care and needs. The vets and techs are so gentle with the dog, providing him great care every single time he needs a shot or a blood draw or treatment. They treat me and all the other owners with respect and thoughtfulness -- they always call and leave voicemails and send emails about test results and appointments. Super helpful in providing clarification about medication and conditions and development. Especially when he was a puppy, I had so many questions and they made me feel comfortable and supported and let me call as many times as I need to. Can't recommend them enough! They are always able to get us in for appointments (even last minute) and did a great job with his neuter operation.

Dr. Xanthos was great, but at least two of the veterinarians now working there seem to have little interest in thinking outside the box to help their patients, or in providing care in as cost-effective a manner as possible. When our cat developed feline infectious peritonitis, the vets showed no interest in letting us know about, much less obtaining, a possible, if unapproved cure. This contributed to us giving the cat the medicine, which has a high if not a complete rate of success, too late in the game. Also, Reade Street performed at least one expensive x-ray that may have been of questionable necessity, given that by then, the diagnosis of feline infectious peritonitis was established. Then, they kept on sending me mass e-mails for months reminding me that care was needed for a cat that they had diagnosed with a terminal disease! When I wrote one line to tell them that the cat was deceased and I was dissatisfied with his care, they didn't express any sympathy or make any attempt to reach out to discuss matters, rather they "fired" me as a customer. So overall, I'd say give the current incarnation of Reade Street a big miss, unless you like fairly indifferent care/attitude and have a lot of money to spend.

Samantha you are a super star! Every time I call or came in it was like a friend was answering and I love that so much! Everyone here is so friendly and smart but she is really on top of her game every tim. Can not say enough good things about this person who seemed to know everybody that came in very well, the answer to my questions without missing a beat and that is so reassuring to me. Every hospital needs a Samantha!!! I have horror vet stories so believe me this is no exaggeration (given wrong medication doses that almost killed my baby but thats another story). These people have a gift, every one of the crew. There was a nurse that helped me that was amazing too but I never got her name - dark hair up in a bun and very friendly. Hope to have some more positive experiences when my boy comes back from being a country dog thank you all and congratulations on your beautiful baby!!!

This place is the best care you can receive for your animals. They take the time to explain EVERYTHING during the exam and after. I have even showed a videos to the vet to see if I needed to be concerned with certain symptoms. They never treat you like they are in a hurry. Your babies will not be stressed during the visit or traumatized after. It is worth every penny. Most caring staff to you and your pet.

Caring and competent. They schedule apprpriately, so there are no big lines as other vets sometimes have. They return calls in a timely fashion.

Appointment happened on time. Everyone was very attentive and i felt like my dog was in good hands. The doctor was very thorough, explained everything to very clearly and just very pleasant to deal with. The vet assist showed me how to apply the medicine, which was super helpful and more than what most vets do. Post visit, there was good follow up to check in and continue to monitor. Very good experience, very comforting. I have confidence in them.

Made an appointment for several services for my cat not even realizing after I made the appointment yesterday the woman never gave me a quote for said services. When I called to ask they told me over 700$ to get neutered and it depends on the health of the cat. I wills gladly go somewhere else. For further reference when a new client makes an appointment over the phone you should ask if the animal has insurance and if not give them a quote so they know what to expect beforehand. Glad I called and didn’t waste my time.

A word of caution for everyone - the positive reviews here are from the last 2 owners of this business. If you read reviews from mid-2021 you will see everyone is unhappy by the lack of professional care they have received. I wanted to bring this to your attention: The business is now owned by Thrive Vet Services. When you enter they are cold and the Dr won't speak with you. They take the dog to the back, run tests and after all is done, the Vet comes to talk to you. Used to not be like this. My impressions is that they now have young inexperienced Veterinarian doctors - random ones that are in their mid-20s - 30s. I brought my dog for a simple UTI, they ran all sorts of tests for Urine/Blood and gave me 7 days of medication ONLY. The dog responded, but the problem didn't clear because the medication didn't clear the bacteria. I called for refill and they want me to take my dog in for another $500 culture tests because the first time that they kept my dog, apparently my dog didn't give them clear sample. Its not about the money. Its the fact that they gave only 7 days of meds, didn't do their job correctly and now want to charge more to repeat it. I know my Dog picked up UTI from a trip and all I wanted was a few days of anti-biotics to clear the problem without bringing my dog and putting her through hell / a cage so they can charge me. The prior Vets would always give 10 days of meds and this had never happened. When I finally spoke to the doctor (Dr Romero) via phone and brought all of these up, she abruptly cut me short and said she was "offended" and that I was questioning her too much and should speak to the Hospital Manager. Can you imagine if I had a life threatening problem with my dog and your Vet would say that? This businesses was founded by Dr Xantos and later Dr Sign. I was a Client for 10+ years and even though I moved away I was bringing my dog here. My current neighborhood has a Vet on every block in Williamsburg, but I stayed loyal to them. Loyal no more. I am extremely disappointed that a Vet would pass on the phone to a Office Manager in middle of a well toned discussion. I thought I would write this as a word of caution for anyone that wants to take their pet there to know - it has sadly changed. Their new owner is: Thrive Vet Services - 512-828-7255 for anyone else that wants to call them and complain.

This Veterinarian hospital which really isn't a veterinarian hospital because they're not open during emergency hours and their emergency hours facilities are often closer or on bypass and cannot take animals in emergency situation. They used to be a great vet when Mary Zanthos was running it. Now that she isn't you stand the risk of losing your animal if you trust in them. Especially if your vet is a part time, a fill-in, or Temp. I know we did. .....;( RIP Aggie, we love you.

I wrote a review prior about Reade Street AH. This is a follow up - After making efforts beyond normal to obtain my pets records. I finally succeeded with the help of a vet that called on my behalf. I have feedback from all those that attempted to assist me well documented to show the questionable behavior of this business. This is In consideration of its ethics which was beyond the pale and mockingly libelous.

We brought our cat in who was seen the same day that I called. The appointment was right on time. Even though we could not come into the appt, Dr P and the vet techs carefully explained to us what tests needed to be done and then called us with the results. So far so good!
