TERRIBLE AWFUL PLACE!! Pharmacy often makes mistakes and NEVER answers their phone. DO NOT send any medications here. You cannot get in contact with pharmacy and they are not reliable in processing prescriptions accurately or even processing billing through insurance. Also all of the in store items are locked up in cases and they typically run out of essentials like toilet paper or tissues. Associates are always busy and hard to flag down in order to get them to unlock the toothpaste for you. It will probably shut down soon.

I've never seen anybody walk up to the counter and walk away with their medication without a problem from this place. Nobody answers the phone. No prescription is ever filled and waiting. Have your medication delivered. Yes, optum rx is stupid too. But the combined stupid of the pharmacy and optum rx is greater than the sum of its parts. It's cosmic stupid folks.

Never answer their phones. They don't return calls. Techs are slow. Never working with them again.

If I could give zero I would. The pharmacist must be over whelmed. My son is recovering from the flu now having issues with asthma. Nothing new as far as the meds were concerned. Called yesterday they claimed they didn't receive the prescription. So called this morning no answer. My husband went in to inquire about our son's meds. We were given the run around told our doctor perscribed the wrong med we don't have that. Told go to your doctors office and complain they need to fix the script. We contact the clinic they say it's the same med your son gets whenever he's ill. For an hour later to receive a text that the med is no longer in stock. MY SON CANNOT BREATHE. Who do I hold accountable? I'll be taking my needs elsewhere. Giving a child with asthma family the run around. Shame on you.

Understaffed - but they do their best to deal with client needs in a professional manner. With a little patience, they’re a better alternative to other pharmacies in the area.

Much like every other Rite Aid I’ve ever been in, it’s messy, understaffed, and generally miserable to be in. 2 stars because all the staff that I’ve encountered are pleasant.

Reasonably good store, they have a lot of problem customers and people either stealing from them or trying scams ( I heard manager complaining a bout this and believe him.)

Consistently best of the national chains with locations in this Upper West Side area. Pharmacy and pharmacists are particularly pleasant, thoughtful and thorough -- and actually call you personally when it's time for immunizations or boosters! Store prices on items such as vitamins are frequently better (lower) than competitors or offer better deals (e.g., second one at half-price). When I recently needed attention to a product problem from a manager, the manager was empathetic and responsive with the kind of customer service attitude that is rare in NY these days. Store location is somewhat distant for me, so I don't use it for all my drugstore shopping, but always seek it out when I can or for anything important.

Unfortunately this Rite Aid location has closed. There was a lot of shoplifting at this location, so the shelves we're always empty.

This was a great store and it's unfortunate that we have horrible elected politicians that are soft in crime making it hard for business to survive in an environment where theft has no consequences. RIP Rite Aid!

Rite Aid at 301 West 50th is my go to store when I'm shopping around Columbus Circle. It's very close to Central Park and lots of tourist attractions. There's plenty of public transportation going up and downtown if I'm tired of walking. This is a busy store like everything else in this neighborhood. It's the typical merchandise with a lot of their "Big Win" brand labels. I'm not a fan as there's too many additives in the food. I usually get a bottle of water or a snack. I'm just glad it's open for me in case I need something fast. I get points on my rewards card.

Wish I could give zero stars. I had a prescription that I was having a hard time finding in stock anywhere - spent hours calling various pharmacy chains and being sent all over the city by incompetent employees. Well, last night, one of my calls was to this specific Rite Aid and I was totally appalled by the way I was treated. Explained to the pharmacist what my experience had been after 6 hours of unsuccessfully trying to fill this Rx. I was exhausted, and by the time I called, I only had 24/7 pharmacies left as options because it was so late. The pharmacist very condescendingly said that he didn't have the medication in stock (even though a much kinder pharmacist at another Rite Aid said it showed in their system as being in stock at this location...), and he responded so quickly to my inquiry that it seemed pretty apparent that he didn't even look it up. When I reiterated the hell that I had been through and asked him if he could give me some guidance or tell me where it might show as being in stock at another location, he simply said "nope, definitely can't do that" and hung up the phone. Creeps like him are why being sick is often easier than navigating through the healthcare system. There are many careers that people aren't a good fit for, but if you're a disgusting human being you shouldn't be working in the medical industry. (P.S. if you ever do need a competent pharmacy that's 24 hours, there is a really nice pharmacist at the CVS at 253 1st Avenue who took the time to search in their system and gave me a list, with phone numbers, of area pharmacies that showed to potentially have my medication available, and even checked to make sure they were open. He was empathetic and an actual patient advocate. Take your business there instead).
