We had plans to attend the cinema and first enjoyed the beautiful bar and had a couple of drinks. Jazz band trio playing in the large open area adjacent to the bar. Really unique atmosphere. Theater was great. Little cold for the winter time lacked heat and I usually don't get too cold at places like this. Food selection at the theater was good except no butter on the popcorn which at the end of the day is probably a good thing but I was disappointed. Bathrooms for the theater were very very nice; a pleasure to use.

The AMC and Regal are nice, but sometimes an independent movie theatre brings charm to the experience that a chain can't. Perks of going to the Roxy for a movie are enjoying the live music in the lobby beforehand, no movie trailers, and the opportunity to watch movies on film.In exchange for the vintage theatre atmosphere your seats don't recline and aren't as spacious or plush as an AMC seat. Independent theatre are more selective about the films they show and usually screen independent films instead of blockbusters. All things considered I think the small sacrifices are worth it to enjoy the experience and I will be coming back! The Roxy Theatre also holds events where they interview filmmakers and is available to rent out for private screenings. For the popcorn fiends, Popcorn is $7 for a small and $10 for a large.

Loved the experience...has a nostalgic feel ...if you're into the old Hollywood scene.

If you want to pay $20 to see 1/3 of a film then this should be your go to!! Just a sorry excuse for a cinema

Nice intimate theater. Shows recent fare as well as some older (80's). Concession stand overpriced, bathrooms clean but only one faucet sink, though big.

The Roxy Cinema is inside of the Roxy Hotel. You enter through the front door and walk straight to the back. There is a stairs and elevator to go down one flight to the cinema. The cinema has very comfortable seats. The bathrooms are extremely clean. It's a very comfortable environment to watch a film.

I was there last night for a screening of a film. I was immediately put in a relaxed mood with the lighting. Super comfortable seats and absolutely immaculately clean. Really cool popcorn stand too and just all in all fabulous.

The smell of old carpet is not even close to bad enough to ruin the experience of a lovely place with fantastic selection of movies

Hidden gem of a theater in the basement of the Roxy hotel. It takes you to another time both with the decor and the movies they play. A fun evening will be going to the movies here and then to the jazz club/bar above.

Amazing hidden Jem theater! I went to see Padre Pio on Friday night. Small room but classic. A little thing I wish they have better blind to cover the door. People are walk in and out during the movie and I was interrupted by them. The theater is in basement of Roxy hotel and more than just cinema, I entertain by the interesting cozy vibe of all bars and decoration. I don't really hang out in the area so much, now I will probably be checking out Tribeca more.

Theater is nice enough for an art house (the usual small screen) but the aisle lights were not dimmed during the movie, ruining the ambiance of low light scenes. Won't go back unless they fix this.
