Wandered into the church courtyard on a balmy Saturday to read on a bench and eventually met the church’s new priest Christine Lee. She is so kind, warm, inviting, real. The works! Anyone who attends this church is in such good hands. Now that churches are back for in-person services, I look forward to attending one in their storied, beautiful church.5 stars!!!!

St. Peter’s Church - better know as the Christmas Church - is a living link to New York’s 19th century landscape. Clement Clark Moore, who penned the poem popularly know as “The Night Before Christmas” deeded the land for the church’s construction and served as the church’s first organist. It was his family estate, “Chelsea”, that gave rise to the modern day neighborhood.
