Great branch to get your needs taken care of. Jack O, the banker, was very helpful. I highly recommend him!

While visiting NYC, I used the ATM at the Madison Ave location. It gave me two $100 bills. After discovering it was hard to get change on such a big bill, I went into the actual bank to get smaller bills. I was informed that because I didn't have an account with them, they could not give me smaller bills. From my perspective, I was charged a fee for using the ATM and feel they should have exchanged my bills for smaller ones. If it was only going to dispense $100 bills, a warning would have been nice - I would have gone elsewhere.

Santander Bank on Ditmars & 31STREETI have been banking at BS for the last few years and it has been good but I would not say amazing...The BS on Ditmars in Astoria, Queens near the train station runs at a different beat ...as long as Keith is there it will not be smooth I went there a few weeks ago and needed a transaction done and as you can see from the pictures attached there was not ONE (1) teller to assist me and I could not wait or else I would have been late for work and then I would be docked from my paycheck...as I was a few weeks ago waiting for help when my Card was stuck in the ATM machine Keith is not a manager material (and I lost money being late to work because of Keith) Keith ..needs more training because he does not know how to handle his job...and he causes a lot of problems and more work for himself...and I do hope that the Corporate office reads this posting...They need to replace KEITH he needs to be removed as a Manger due to his work inadequate work actions...and customer service actions he does not follow through at the right time and does not know how to OPERATE A BRANCH..Do not open any accounts at this branch ...if you read this posting.

I was met by Laila and not only was she unknowledgeable about the issue, she was also extremely rude. She raised her hand more than a few times when I tried to help her talk with the representative she called on the phone. I wasted my time in the branch talking to her trying to figure out where my money that I transferred between my two checking accounts through Zelle went. It was not in my Santander checking and it was not in my other checking account and there she was not able to give the answer. She is not only a stupid lady, but she is also very ill-tempered. Someone like her who cannot handle a frustrated client should not work in any client-facing roles. I’d recommend Santander to evaluate Laila’s performance and interrogate her on her interaction with me. Anyone coming in here please ask to meet someone other than Laila.

WORST BANK EVER! I opened an account in Secaucus NJ branch after receiving a promotion indicating a $300 bonus after 90 days. I met all obligations of the offer (direct deposit, monthly transaction, etc.) and never received the $300 bonus. I received an email 60 days into the promotion stating both the evaluation date and posting date for the $300. The $300 never came. I called the bank. I was told it would be 3 weeks more AT LEAST. I spoke to a Supervisor. I was told "we will honor the promotion" but we "can't tell you if/when the money will be deposited". So, even with marketing material in my hand and an email from the bank stating the deposit date of the $300 they did not deliver the money and now I'm told they can't tell me if/when they will. THIS BANK IS A BUNCH OF CHEATS. Apparently they will SAY whatever they need to in order to get your money but, they do not honor previous statements/promises made IN WRITING on THEIR letterhead which led you to put your money with them. LIARS and CHEATERS. They owe me $300 and I will be taking every legal remedy available to get my money. I kept my end of the deal and all they did was take my money!!!!

Santander is the fourth largest bank/building society by marking share back home in the UK, despite being based in Spain and being named after the town where they were founded of the same name I was still quite surprised to see they have active branches in the US, so I called in while passing their branch on Madison Avenue to see how they compared to the UK stores. They are pretty much similar while also considering the differences between UK and US banks being implemented here, one thing I didn't like was the ATM's seemed more difficult to use and they didn't make you aware about the fee (because I wanted to use an international bank card) until physically entering your card, pin and requesting the money for example. They also seemed to lack smaller notes which other banks like Capital One seem to do, so that was a shame. It does close pretty early too, considering this and the disinterested staffs (didn't seem to care for a non-US customer like myself) and the fact they probably have the worst ATM's in the area with many other banks nearby (still charge a fee but easier to use), I'm struggling to find many positives regarding Santander at 330 Madison other than the fact it's one of the few high-street names I recognise from back home, and that alone doesn't warrant an extra star! 1*

Worst ATM ever and worst bank ever. The machine ate my card for no reason. I inserted my card, I waited and the Machine just shut down and my card was gone. I was abroad with no further money for more than a week and I was going to leave NYC to visit another country. Worst experience I ever had in my whole life. I called the bank customer service, they first told me that I had the wrong number (I didn't) as it was the help line number on the ATM) and when they understood that I had the right number, they didn't do anything to help me, just told me "come back when the branch is open for help". It was useless as I was leaving NYC the same night and no help was offered. They just told me to call my bank to block my card, something I would have done regardless if I couldn't get my card back. Another scary thing about this awful experience is this: While the ATM system was shutting down on the screen there was the Windows notice "this copy of Windows 7 is not genuine". How is it possible that an International Bank in the most important banking town of the world (NYC) allows a branch ATM to operate in this manner?
