If I could give a zero, I would. Our high school rented the space for graduation. The experience in planning was harrowing. Though Pace has values of inclusion, responsiveness, caring it seems that the theater operating team are exempt from embodying their own vales in their operations practice. For example, enacting them for getting the rental, but not in partnering with rentals. Despite repeated requests for turning on, in June, the air conditioner -- we had to wait until we had to demand it. Despite restrictive covid protocols that required active surveillance by theater staff upon entering, the theater was oppressively warm. Plans were not responsive and tone deaf to the needs of the rentee. My personal experience: Your security, primarily Black people - a team of officers who were wonderful, warm, welcoming and kind enough to be responsive as I was looking for my vaxx card and id. After after descending the stairs however, I took two steps into the vestibule before entering the theater when I was accosted by a female theater person who, with arms crossed, asked that about my mask. I was carrying bags, sweating, out of breath and she was asking me about my mask. I asked her to step away from me so she continued to wait and watch telling me I needed to put my mask on "now." I complied, but it was so startling and to be honest as a client in this theater that is supposed to be welcoming; a theater that survived a pandemic and an institution that would benefit from the money we paid to be there, a consistent embodiment of values for advancement, it is astounding to see staff so focused as to alienate rather than create welcome. Additionally, as a WoC who has had her share of surveillance and unwelcoming spaces, I did not need her to literally stand there waiting for me, like an inmate, to mask myself in order to enforce and have me comply. When I proceeded to relay my experience with her manner, she disagreed -- with my experience -- which I relayed including that there was a way to speak with folks and that her manner wasn't the way; I told her she needed to read the room before she pounced on me. She lacked basic hospitality, cultural comp and a severe lack of embodying anti racist principles which center the narratives of experience for those historically minoritized. In synthesis there are a plethora of performance spaces who will receive my funding and this will not be one of them. For values to be real in an institution all of its members must embody them otherwise they are performative.

Except for the fact that there was little to no a/c & paying for a hot bottle of water. I saw an amazing show. Nice venue. Seems like every seat.was a good one!

It was a wonderful venue. First time there. Didn't know about this place. Noticed they have a lot of shows there. My only problem was no air conditioning. So most of us including members of the group I went to see where fanning ourselves. Also the venue should post a sign that there is an elevator for the handicapped. If there is one noted in lobby entrance, i apologize some handicap visitors didn't see it & had trouble maneuvering the stairs. Otherwise would definitely visit again. People should get on their mailing list. They have some great comedians, it is also close to subway & parking lots close by at reasonable rates.

Went here with the rest of my documentary crew to screen the film we made. Very clean and upscale, good acoustics, and plenty of seating. Large lobby to mingle with guests or set up a space for photos.
