The security has much to be desired but the nursing staff is amazing. My mother has dementia and they take phenomenal care of her. She has been the healthiest in years. They don't do what typical nursing homes do druging her up, they treat her like a person when I'm there or not. They braid her hair and polish her nails. Very happy with selection for my mother to live out her life.

The staff bought me back to life! The food was excellent snd the nurses truly cared for me. At my lowest point, a Honduran nurse told me catracho no llora. Would love to find her and thank her.

The old woman that works as a security guard during the day is EXTREMELY rude beyond what is reasonable. I was walking the island and needed to use the toilet. There was a toilet right at the entrance to the facility and i wanted to use it. Instead of being helpful and either allowing me to use the toilet or directing me to a toilet she yelled and screamed that it isn't her problem and that i had to leave. She said it was because of the virus. I was wearing a mask and besides, every other place on the planet has moved on so it is a very thin excuse and no excuse for being rude. I simply don't see what harm there is in letting someone use the toilet. Yelling does not intimidate me and i asked her to call the police. It is better to de-escalate then escalate a situation. It is people who act like this that cause people to hate the police and authority. Calm discussions can really do more.

Whoever works the Mobile COVID Testing & Vaccination Unit NEEDS to be fired.Waited 2 hours in line in the freezing cold where they ran out of swabs. They then took peoples' phone numbers down and after the swabs arrived, they called each person's number 1 by 1 and waited 5 minutes in-between for them to arrive. Didn't test the people on line while they waited. This resulted in 30 minutes of no one getting tested. Then the guy said "we're having lunch now" and refused to take any phone numbers to call people back. They said we had to wait until they finished lunch even though there were elderly people waiting in the freezing cold during this time. Also the guy taking down names walked slower than the elderly people on canes. Really took his sweet time while everyone was waiting in the cold.

My best friend, “Dan,” spent his final months here, cared for by compassionate staff. Although he would rather have died at home, that was not possible. I was glad that his friends and family ( from Brooklyn, fromWashington State, New Mexico and Vermont), were able to visit him on a regular basis (this was before Covid, during the Spring and Summer of 2018). We were able to wheel Dan outside, to the park in front of the hospital, by the East River, where he enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air.

I had a very good experience? Idk what’s the problem. The staff was beyond kind . They went above and beyond . They were great . Bc of Covid you can’t go up to the rooms , hopefully that changes soon , but they brought down my mother and she was very well taken care of . They brushed her hair , her nails were clipped and she was well dressed . My mother was relaxed and had nothing bad to say ! …. at the end of our interaction , she said she wants to go back to her room . I felt very comfortable with her there . I don’t understand the bad reviews . My only complaint is that the location is terrible . Take a tram , a red bus , the q102 , the f train . My lord ?

Rude staff members with bad attitudes and terrible communication. The facilities are drab & outdated and that just adds to the unpleasantness. There is very little accountability with all NYC health & hospitals but this one takes the cake.
