I was pleasantly surprised! A lot of the grocery stores uptown are cluttered and the produce is sub par, I walked into this store and was greeted by the neatest most pristinely shelved fresh produce I've seen uptown. Both levels are very well stocked and well kept and I'm happy that this store is the go to for my new home. The seafood section looked very fresh as well, can't wait to try next time!

It's the best grocery store within several blocks of the area. The food is always fresh, and they have a better than average selection of produce, fresh meats, and organic foods.

This supermarket is one of the few options in the Washington Heights area frequented by students of Columbia Medical Center such as myself. They do have lots of options in terms of fresh fruits and veggies, but the prices are pretty steep compared to Trader Joes. I only come here if I don't have the time make the trek down south for Trader Joes. I have bought eggs, veggies, frozen waffles and veggies, cheese, and bagels here but the meat looks a little sus so I avoid. The staff can be nice or dismissive depending on who you get. Also the escalators to go up and down sometimes creak a little and that scares me lol It's only redeeming quality is its proximity to the medical center. I only come here out of convenience.

I ran into this supermarket by accident about 1 month ago, I went in for some fruits and fell in love with it. The supermarket has two floors and a great selection of merchandise. The fruits are fresh and the prices are reasonable..I live a few miles away and I took a cab to go there again, I don't regret it!

If this place were just compared to the other supermarkets in this food desert it would rate at least 3 stars - but that's only because the other neighborhood options are even worse. I can't help but give this Foodtown 1 star because it's so totally lame compared to the Bronx Kingsbridge Foodtown. The Bronx Foodtown is very professionally run, very clean, everything well stocked and fresh, and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. This Washington Heights Foodtown on the other hand is poorly stocked, the meat department reeks of rot, and the staff are curt and dismissive. Night and day - give this Foodtown a miss....

My all time favorite place! You are guaranteed to get anything and everything fresh and nice! Whether be it the veggies, fruits, dairy or meat you get it all. I come to this location specifically to get all my weekly groceries. The ambiance is so great, something about it feels very friendly and comfortable. I bet you go there and don’t feel that welcoming vibe then I’ll personally pay for your groceries!!!

THEY SHUT THE LIGHTS OFF 15 mins before the store actually closes, in order to RUSH you out of the store. But this has the opposite affect, because now I'm moving SLOWER because I can't see the products front of me. I had to use my phone light to see what I was buying. Not only is this HORRIBLE customer service, it's SAFETY HAZARD to turn off the lights so your customers cannot see. Especially if you are visually impaired or if there is a wet spot or something in the aisle.

They are the best supermarket in the area for fresh bread, dairy free and gluten free products. The last visit however resulted in bad smelling organic chicken and a onion rotten on the inside. The produce is ok to good depending on the rotation. The cashiers are polite and helpful.Update: I again purchased meat that once I removed from the package didn’t smell fresh. Be careful.

Good grocery story with friendly staff. I do like the fact that's its open late and has most of my grocery needs. My gripe though is that the expiration dates on the food (from bread to meat) are definitely not correct. The food expires way too quickly than what is reported on the product. It's frustrating to pay full price for food that expires the next day after purchase (regardless of what the expiration date says).

The store's floors are clean, and the aisles are wide because of the dual level layout. The clerks, many of whom are local high school students, are always sweet and helpful. The produce section wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so expensive. But, the butcher and seafood sections have had a pungent bad odor that's persisted since the store was opened. I have been served meat that has already gone bad from the deli section. Also, the shelves are often bare, making finding the basics difficult. I only go to this store for items I know they have reliably like cheese blitzes. There are other grocery stores in the area that are more sanitary even if they look more crowded or disorganized.

The store offers a great selection of ready-to-eat meals. It's perfect for busy nights when I don't have time to cook.

The butcher lady who work in the meat section very rude she needs to improve her customer service. She’s very lazy to get something for the customer.

I paid to travel here to do ten minutes of shopping at 11:40, needed some vegetables and eggs. At 11:48 all of the stores lights inside were turned off. I asked if I could still get eggs and was told they are closed. I asked if they close at 12:00 like the hours posted say, and was told the crew leaves the store at 12:00 so everything is closed early and I have to pay and leave.
