Definitely has a cozy, neighborhood-bar vibe that we really enjoyed!

Great little spot for some beer or watch sports. I loved the $2 popcorn as a snack. Would come again.

Came here on St Patty's day. The vibe was amazing, great bartenders. Only downside is that the bar area is not designed well. Can barely stand or walk past people in the narrow entrance. Outside patio has better seating though.

Killer little Irish pub on the Upper Westside. Guinness is always flowing and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive.

Ugh! Really sad to be writing this as I've been coming here for a few years now and considered it to be my go-to neighborhood spot. My girlfriends and I stopped in on march 2nd and were chatting for about forty minutes with our drinks, then we ordered water, and were about to order another round of beer when our waiter cut us off mid-order and said "Here's the thing ladies, it's going to get really busy in here soon and what we're not gonna do is have you sit and order waters from me all night." I'm not sure what brought this on as I didn't feel we were taking up too much space, it wasn't crowded, and we had finished our first round very recently. I haven't seen this server before, so maybe he was new, or a manager or something, but it just felt unnecessarily pointed, patronizing, and unkind. I'm a former bartender and my priority was always the safety and sobriety of my customers. Especially as a young woman, it sucks to be spoken to this way in a bar setting by staff who should be looking out for us.I, too, wish I could slam a beer quickly and order the next -- but alas, my pals and I are small people! The Dead Poet has always been so welcoming and I'm not sure what was going on, but I hope that there's a bit more awareness of customer service and safety moving forward.

We loveee the dead poet - so cute and intimate. Fun for a date night, week night drink, after bar drinks whatever you name it! It's a pretty chill vibe and a tiny space so not much room to stand but we love it here as a late night spot

Came to The Dead Poet after a show at the Beacon Theater. The hike was well worth it as we were greeted with an incredible ambience, friendly and professional staff. Great range of mixed cocktails (The Dead Poet and JD Salinger were two we got that were outstanding) as well as what could be the best pour of Guinness that i've had in years. Definitely check it out if you're in need of a cozy pub with a tucked away feel - a hidden gem with great cocktails and Guinness. If so, you won't be disappointed. cheers!

Good drinks. Hot dogs are a great drunk food. The fact that they cook them behind the bar makes it that much

This establishment is a cozy comfortable neighborhood bar. The specialty drinks are delicious! And the service is really good.
