The showers are designed in such a terrible manner that you can easily flood your bath or even your own room. And don't you dare try to say it's for accessibility as an excuse, because the draining design is quite moronic if you're to maximize the showers accessibility.Overall the room and location is great but the showers will make this a one and never again for me.

The New York EDITION hotel offers a cozy stay with compact rooms due to limitation. However, the standout features are the impressive bar and excellent service. The attention to detail and quality amenities contribute to a satisfying experience, making it a notable choice for those valuing a lively bar scene and top-notch service in the heart of New York City.Food & drinks: The Edition Bar impresses with its vibrant ambiance and top-tier service. A standout choice for those seeking a memorable and enjoyable experience in the heart of the city.

The rooms are smaller than a typical Edition and the lobby and bar sections can feel quite cramped. This also limits the service and serviceability of guests. It’s and Edition for the price but probably more value for the price at nearby Marriott properties.

I stayed here August 2023. Hotel lobby felt high-ended and reception was friendly. Location was close to Nomad, Union Square, Gramercy… The king bed room I stayed in had high ceilings and was very quiet at night. However, there were stains on the carpet, and bathroom design seemed a bit odd. I redeemed with Marriott points, not sure if I would pay it with cash.Rooms: Sitting areas not clean.

I travel often work for but decided to give this place a try. The hotel operates very well. Rooms are a decent size for NY and are very quiet. All in all, exceptional. Unfortunately one of the bar staff Ishmael was incredibly rude - otherwise 5/5.

I stayed there in 2016 and again in Oct 2023. The hotel aged and was not renovated or maintained well. The AC in the room sounds like u r sitting in a washing machine. The towels were dirty twice in my 5 day stay and the curtains did not black the full light in the

EXTREMELY HORRIBLE VALET PARKING EXPERIENCE! paid $60 and discovered a flat tire in the middle of my dinner(i am pretty sure the tire was in perfect condition when I got there, and these whole issue ruined my whole night!)The valet attendant's attitude was unprofessional and aggressive. Instead of offering assistance or taking responsibility, the attendant hastily handed me my car key, implying that it was my problem to deal with(even my tesla app got clear evidence). What made matters worse was the complete lack of apologies from the staff. I was bounced around between different managers, none of whom provided a viable solution. It's been a week since I was promised a follow-up, and I am yet to hear from anyone.when I requested that my car be parked on the side just for one night due to the flat tire and dangerously low tire pressure, I was met with an unreasonable demand to move it so I have to call to tow away.

The hotel is stylish and comfortable. The rooms are quiet and spacious (by NYC standards). The on site dining is decent (including room service), though not remarkable. Only issue during my stay was that I ended up spending a lot of time at reception because my room wasn’t ready until over an hour after the check-in time.

I recently stayed at the New York Edition hotel, and while it's a nice place, I wouldn't rate it as a 5-star hotel. The rooms, though small, are clean and pleasant. However, a downside is the absence of in-room coffee, meaning you have to trek to the lobby for your caffeine fix. Elevator wait times can be frustrating, and the lobby, although clean, doesn't exude a high-end hotel vibe. For those with cars, be prepared for a lengthy wait to retrieve your vehicle, often taking at least 45 minutes.Considering the drawbacks, the New York Edition's relatively high prices don't seem entirely justified. However, if you adjust your expectations and don't anticipate an ultra-luxurious experience, you'll likely find your stay here satisfactory. It's a decent choice as long as you're not seeking the pinnacle of luxury.

Pros:- Good service: Hotel staff emailed and asked if we have specials requests like late checkout or room upgrade before arrival. The hotel doesn’t provide complimentary breakfast but honors most of the Marriott elite benefits.- Hardware: Room and bathroom are spacious and clean, we love the Le Labo bath products.- Location: Many cafe, restaurants, and bars nearby, quiet area at night.Cons:- Many parts of the hotel are not well maintained despite opened only back in 2015. Wood floor damages, carpet stains, dirty wall paint, water damages in tiles.- New developments next to the hotel obstructing some of the views.

So many good things going for it. I appreciate the simplicity of the rooms and furnishings. Bathroom is large but not cluttered with mounds of towels or product or ceramic Kleenex containers. Simple. The rooms are very soundproof, which means a lot in NYC. What IS noisy is the AC. There is only one fan setting. On or off. The hotel is extremely well located. Madison Park is across the street. Two issues. The doors are large, heavy and wooden and when the door to the adjoining room closes you will wake up if you are asleep. Second, the food is not that great. Lots of panache in the dining room, but not the cooking. I had steel cut oats one morning and it was lukewarm. Like it had been sitting in a Bain-marie for a couple hours. The BLT was sandwiched in huge slices of large dry toast and is spartan inside, very far from comfort food. The fruit plate had thinly sliced apples that were already turning brown. Not sure what is going on the kitchen. I might have not ordered the signature great dishes.

Beautiful hotel across the street from Madison Square Park. The lobby is a sea of comfy cream sofas and lounge chairs. Rooms are well appointed per usual with Le Labo bath products and comfortable beds.

Such a beautiful hotel. It smells amazing too. It is very clean. The staff goes above and beyond. Tina Burbridge took such great care of us. She was so friendly and outgoing. Definitely an amazing new York experience. Highly recommend!!

I cannot comprehend how someone that has stayed in several top NY hotels could objectively call this one the best. The hotel’s obsession with casual and understated luxury translates into being very lite on amenities. That also forces a comparison to properties like the NY Park Hyatt which has larger, more technologically modern rooms with more amenities. In fact, they both even have top floor fitness fitness centers but the Edition does not have a single window up there while the Park Hyatt (along with its pool) provides one of the best views over Central Park in the entire city. I agree with the growing number of reviews that just found the property very standard… very lackluster, un-noteworthy.

The golden standard for New York hotels. The Edition really deserves its five star hotel diamond status and then some.Location is fantastic, you are central to everything, overlooking Madison Square Park, and near two subway lines within a block.Staff is super friendly and helpful. Room service is top notch and always replenishes towels, toiletries and water bottles. The room itself is super modern and clean. It is a bit small but given the sizes of rooms in New York it’s nothing out of the typical. Everything is super warm and inviting and really makes you feel like you’re at home.Amenities are great and the hotel has all the bells and whistles like a gym, lobby bar, restaurant and much more to make it feel like a complete trip. Can’t wait to stay here again soon!
