I wasn't able to go inside, but this place is really nice I think it compliments the vessel and Hudson yards. I've seen in right about this place online and had to go see it while I was in New York. My job host events inside and I've seen the inside because of the projects I've worked on and hoped that I could just take a peek inside but not this time?Such a beautiful structure!

Well, nothing spectacular when I was there, I just finished the High Line and no exhibition was taking place. But I do admit it has a cool concept with the rail and the wheel !

How do you rate a theater? This one is new and shiny and therefore far more comfy than most NYC theaters. I'm a bigger gal and the seats were comfortable enough. High for anyone who has trubs getting up and down too. It's a smaller theater so no bad seats. I was on a far side and kinda had to crane my neck a lot but still could see everything. You can walk through the Shed Shops aka mall to get to it. Lots of places to eat in there as well as the Spanish eating area. A few places to eat open after the show but it's limited in that area.

My friend and I went to see Here We Are, a Steven Sondheim play with some music. The seating was great. The theater was small enough that the stage can be seen well from any angle. The restrooms are easily available. There are bar stations on different floors and there's a table service restaurant on the first floor. The Shed is in Hudson Yards near the 7 train at 34th street. There are plenty of elevators and escalators. I would definitely enjoy going back for another event.

Beautiful venue!!! A little confusing as to where to go inside for the show. We saw Here We Are and barely made it, honestly I’d recommend leaving like 30 minutes earlier than you normally would if you don’t live super close by!

I actually really enjoy coming here to work from home at the cafe. This is a review specific to the cafe. Its a very relaxing area with so many options for sitting and working. This would be a great place to read a book or just grab a quick drink bite or coffee. Its actually a hidden gem if youre not looking for ‘think coffee’s long lines, tourists. When shows start theres people waiting and chatting hut not loud enough to bother, maybe sometimes kids but you can always move to the other areas. Quiet enough to take a call. The wifi although it says full bars is not great but I use my hotspot for the day when I come by with 0 issues. They also have a small happy hour for like half off bites and drinks…. Im telling you gem.1. I’d love to see it open earlier I think it could be a staple in the area but makes sense that it doesn’t2. The free wifi is not great

Comfortable theatre space doing innovative productions and gallery shows. Nice community addition to Hudson Yards. Plus acoustics are good and seating and sightlines are comfortable. However, not enough bathrooms on the upper floors. What were they thinking people would do in intermission? Another gripe: very annoying ticket system where bar codes are only texted -- if ever -- within 24 hours of the show.

Nestled within the bustling landscape of Hudson Yards, The Shed emerges as a beacon of innovation and artistry, seamlessly blending state-of-the-art architecture with groundbreaking performances. From the moment I entered, I was struck by the venue’s fluid design, which aptly symbolizes the ever-evolving nature of the arts it champions. Each exhibit and performance I encountered seemed meticulously curated, aiming not just to entertain, but to provoke thought, stir emotions, and challenge perspectives. It became evident that this isn’t merely a venue; it’s a living testament to New York City’s dedication to fostering and celebrating creativity in all its myriad forms. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, guiding visitors through the multi-faceted experiences on offer. The movable shell, an architectural marvel in itself, allows for a dynamic space that constantly reinvents itself, much like the city it resides in.Beyond the visual and performing arts, the ambiance of the space was captivating. Subtle lighting, acoustic brilliance, and thoughtfully designed seating areas made the experience comfortable and immersive. In conclusion, The Shed isn’t just a visit—it’s a journey. A journey that encapsulates the spirit of contemporary art, the genius of modern architecture, and the vibrant pulse of New York’s cultural scene. It stands as a testament to what happens when vision, art, and innovation converge. A day here is not just time spent but an investment in enriching one’s soul and broadening one’s horizons. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to experience the pinnacle of cultural immersion.

Took in a show at The Shed which is the performing arts center at Hudson Yards. Beautiful venue and there are no bad seats in the house. Easy ample parking for those who drive into the City.

Came to The Shed with friends to check out Sonic Sphere given all the hype on how cool this was going to be. Paid $60/pp for The XX which of course was the hottest ticket as it was constantly sold out but we were able to get a slot when new dates opened up.Overall, the experience was just ok. Yes it was cool to it sit above ground in a sphere to listen to music and watch the lights change in sync. But 40 minutes of just listening to the original album was a disappointment. Had expected more out of the experience overall. We were able to sit in the middle of the center net (hoping not to fall through the entire time) vs sitting in the seats. Seating is first come first serve. Please note that there are flashing lights so so may not be suitable with anyone who suffers from epilepsy or bad migraines...Use the restrooms before you enter the sphere as no exit until the end of the event. Also, keep small items in a bag as they may fall through the sphere and onto the ground below. Definitely can say that I checked it out...

Absolutely loved this place! So check this out .. I came here randomly tonight while walking around the highline and was absolutely blown away by the shear size and liveliness of the space. There was giant chess, dancing, incredible views and tons of people having a blast outdoors. If you ever are looking for a free and unique afternoon activity, I highly suggest The Shed. I didn't go downstairs but I hear they have a delicious cafe downstairs.. saving it for next time!

The Shed is a fantastic addition to the idea of community, by Hudson Yards and off The Highline in a bubbly looking plastic wrap of a building. Inside, it's highlighting community through art, and platforming artists who might not have the same opportunity elsewhere in New York. We went for the Sonic Sphere, which was a leap backwards into future technology, a throwback to 1970s experimentation, on par with San Francisco's world famous "Audium", or the Exploratorium's Tactile Dome, and other explorations of sensory and stimulus from a bygone era. This isn't a modern freak out of technology, vs the novel use of it from an era of Pink Floyd laser light shows at planetariums. I think the most interesting aspect of it is the stillness, and the silence... the ability to sit reclined, just staring at something other than our phones for about 45 minutes. It felt less of a technological marvel than it did a personal meditation with calming visuals. It was a perfect addition to our busy trip, and a welcome and wonderful respite from the heat, the crowds, and the constant, unyielding movement through the highline and city. Some people are not impressed with the experience or the technology, but I am sure they are thinking 2023, not 1973. Go with a sense of wonder, awe, calm, and simple auditory and visual tech. With that attitude, it will be a winner.
