Scam company. Returned a car with a full tank of gas but there was no one there to check me out and verify gas tank. added $82 in fuel cost. Corporate thieves. Rent from someone else. I called to complain but it's impossible to get a human on the phone. They suck.

Booked the car two months in advance and paid for it when I booked it. But since I booked it with my debit card they charged a $500 deposit, and then charged me almost $400 for insurance, which I had declined as my insurance covers the rental. When I pointed this out, the girl said she would refund it and it would take 24 hours. It took a week. When I went out to get the car, they were out of the size I booked and gave me a "free upgrade" which was a banged up Jeep Compass with scratches and dents, very worn mismatched tires, chipped windshield and non functioning backup camera. The girl that waited on me at the Denver CO branch was extremely rude and demeaning towards me, and I got the impression that she just hated her job apparently, because she clearly had no customer service skills. Won't rent from them again.

Booked a car last week for 2 days this weekend at LGA thrifty location and the total came to $503 (including additional insurance). Reservation pickup was for 7pm Friday, but my flight was delayed, which was completely out of my control. Tried to modify the reservation and pick up the car 8am Saturday morning, but they told me my price would be increased... meanwhile I would have the car for LESS time. I could not pick up the car and they would not allow me to add another driver to the reservation to pick it up. Had to completely change my form of payment and the name in order for someone else to pick up the car for me. When my partner arrived to pick up the car, they said the new price was $845. I'm utterly shocked and disappointed at how abysmal their policies and customer service handled the situation. They officially charged me almost $850 for a rental car for only 2 days. I will never use thrifty car rental again and will do everything in my power to inform others of thrifty's horrific business practices.

I made a reservation a month before a family wedding and stopped in a week before to verify the reservation. On the day of the wedding, there were no cars with others waiting too. They said to return in 2 hours to check for cars, they do not give out their phone number. When I returned, no cars at all. As far a a refund, they could not do it and told me to call customer service. I called and the line disconnected. I would not recommend Thrifty if you have an important event. The whole transaction was a disappointment and I missed an important family wedding. The staff seemed used to apologizin.

PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!! thrifty car rental at LaGuardia airport DOES NOT HAVE A SHUTTLE BUS from La Guardia airport to the car rental facility after 7 pm at night. There is no way to call them. YOU WILL be STRANDED at the airport without realizing this. you must take a taxi or Uber for $25 minimum. I and another person were stranded last night and had to uber to the thrifty facility. the manager shrugged when told the shuttle bus never appeared after waiting 1 1/2 hours and we got there within minutes of it closing. Tge counter people were wonderful. The manager could not care less and never said he would look into it. offered me payback of the cash Uber mi ey spent . but says it does happen that the shuttle decides not topick people up. this was confirmed by budget, allami and hertz shuttle drivers that they get daily pleas from people to take them to thrifty. BE AWARE!!! b

On two occasions I declined extra services. only after signing the contact, did I see they put "accepted" for the two services I declined. They would not let me change it. Fort Myers Airport specifically and their customer service via the phone number was awful.

Great price and Kenny & Kaelin were super calm in spite of the chaos that is a Saturday in Manhattan! Remember,THIS IS MANHATTAN, NYC! Just because you've reserved a car, doesn't mean the car has been returned on time. Be patient, and plan ahead - give yourself extra time. Thanks Thrifty.

Pickup the car at the weekend. Was told no gasoline car. Only electric car is available. This will waste my a few hours to drive to Toronto.

If you live in Manhattan, you don't have to go to an airport to rent a car!! Nothing more convenient if you live in UWS than this Thrifty--they're the normal rental car place (so complete rip off) but at least they're more convenient than jfk!

Reserved a car weeks in advance but somehow they didn’t have a car when I arrived and they weren’t able to pull a car from another location. I feel like they should have a legal obligation to call you in advance if they don’t have a car. I ended up having to pay $400 to use a Zipcar for my trip instead.

Terrible experience. So many different agents told me different things. When i made the reservation they told I would not have to the underage fee with AAA but when I picked up the car they said it was not a thing. I also did not get the car with a full tank of gas.Never using them again.

These people literally stole my money along with Expedia. Avoid at all costs, oh and even better, they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. So, you can't speak to anyone or get the matter resolved with anyone over the phone or even in person. This company is a scam! Save yourself time and money and just go to Hertz or something. It's a bit extra but you can have more peace of mind with them. I booked a car through Expedia to go on a trip and on Expedia I was told the deposit was $50, when I arrived to Thrifty to pick up my car, they said the deposit is actually $250!!! So I told them to cancel the reservation and give me my money back - seems fair right, I never drove off the lot - well, nope. They decided to keep my down payment which is like $127 and not refund me at all. SCAMMERS!!!

I was skeptical of this place because of the Reviews on here. My Credit card company suggested them or else i’d have to take an Uber to the Airport to get a car. It was a great experience renting from them. I’ve rented twice now. Both times my reservation was handled by a Bald dude with glasses named Kenny. That dude is efficient and quick. Whether picking up or Returning the car I’ve had no hassles thus far and will likely rent from them Primarily because it’s easier to get to them via the Train as a person who lives “Uptown.” They have good vehicles also.
