I would like to go and the music be motivating. every morning there's just Latin music playing as if someone's playing their own music selection. 175 a month please change the music !!!! i literally left blink for this reason . it's not ok. there should be all genres of music playing. I should not be subjected to have to bring my own music to gym that cost 175 a month let's work on that please .

As a founding member of TMPL Hell's Kitchen, I remain thoroughly impressed by the ongoing efforts of the staff to uphold an exceptional gym environment. The recent remodeling of the men's locker room, the addition of the new juice bar, and the rejuvenating saltwater pool have all contributed to an elevated experience. Moreover, the reorganization of gym equipment deserves special mention, as it has greatly improved the layout and feng shui of the space. This thoughtful adjustment allows members to focus on specific body parts without the need to travel around the gym, enhancing the efficiency of workouts. I am also grateful for the warm welcome and support from the new General Manager and her team, who have been instrumental in helping me achieve my fitness goals and creating a welcoming atmosphere for my gym guests. Even after years of membership, TMPL remains my top choice for fitness, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to join. - Amery M.

Finally made the trek to see what the hype was all about. Although I'm from out of town while TMPL is far from where l live, it's worth checking out if you live in or visiting New York City. Two of my work buddies come here on occasion and suggested I try it out. Enrolling online for a day pass was simple. Once I got a confirmation email/text, I then met with JD who is a Membership Consultant. He signed me up for a daily pass which is $35. Anyways, I'm happy I came here. To my surprise, it was super spacious, with state of the art LF Machines, spa-like locker rooms, plenty of complimentary towels, and two levels of training space with a dedicated Leg Area same level as the Cardio, Group Exercise & TRX Room. TMPL also has a swimming pool, Sauna & Steam, Juice Bar and much more, might l add very clean facility. One of the reasons I have this love hate relationship with gyms in general is how dirty it can get. Just knowing the feeling of how clean it is here and having this option is a major plus for me. This is a three level full service fitness club that's located in Hell's Kitchen. The spot lights give it a nightclub vibe with cool neon lights on the walls. This is what I would call next level gym! It's definitely not on the affordable side, and I'm already aware of weekly and monthly rates. But you get what you pay for. I'd consider enrolling if I was in town more than 4x a month or lived here. All in all, it's a great gym in New York.

Received a pass from local hotel. Venue was clean, front entry staff were welcoming and friendly, tremendous amount of weight lifting machines and barbells. Pool, steam room, lockers and shower were functioning. When I revisit NYC, I'll stay at that same hotel to access this gym again. It's one of the largest and cleanest I've visited in US.

Two years, and this is my main gym. The gym charges way too much for the quality of service they provide. This should be about a 80 per month gym. The facilities are revolting, the men's locker room is constantly a mess (even on the slow days). Grime, hair, bandaids, dirt, mold, mildew.....There is a cracked glass shower partition that has been cracked for years now, the screws that were used to install the shower partitions are rusting, the caulk is pealing off, the locker room and swim area constantly smells like mildew and the stairway from locker room to swim area is always filthy with dirt and grime. They recently "updated" the men's locker room which was a joke. New flooring and cheap fixtures for the sinks and showers (which are already breaking). NO HOT WATER. This happens all the time. In my two years the water has rarely been warm, even on slow days. They blame the landlord but it's a Commercial lease, so like I would just get instant hots installed if I was them or any business with common sense. The new shower fixtures they installed a few weeks ago are already failing because they are cheap and not commercial grade. Some of the fixtures are mismatched to the other parts of the fixture (brushed nickel to chrome). This is supposed to be a LUXURY gym experience and they are failing at even being a decent basic New York gym. Oh an average of three of the eight or so showers are always out of order at any given time. There other locations are having problems with their saunas (read: mismanagement and incompetence with permitting) so this is the only location with a spa right now. It's dingy, but it works. Doesn't feel very luxurious. I'm probably canceling soon because it's giving planet fitness meets NYSC, and it's not worth the expense.. Classes are ok and used to be great but a lot of the good trainers have left since I have joined. They aren't delivering what they promise and they will try to point to the contract and say that parts of facilities may or may not be available at times but they still advertise those parts of the facilities, so they kind of are scamming people. I want to support my local chain gym, but they make it really hard when they give you absolutely no value for your money.

My hotel gave me a day pass here and had a great overall experience. Pretty good selection of clean and kept equipment. Even knowing I was only visiting, the General Manager took the time to show me around for a mini tour. This says a lot about their level of service. Only knocked off a star for the limited free weights space on all 3 areas Ive seen them in but that maybe on me for going at 6:30pm on a weekday.

Best Gym i've been a member of in regards to both quality and service. The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful with all questions or concerns. The facilities are great and kept up to date with some of the newest kinds of equipment I have seen. I am a big user of the lap pool and this is one of the rare gyms that has a Saltwater Pool, which is a lot less harsh on your skin.

The staff lied to me and told me that the pool is closed for “ maintenance”. Today I saw it was shut down by Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. I also remember another paper like this one, 2 weeks ago, but they removed and reopened in between an hour. I called the Department of Health and they told me TMPL is under violation and are not allowed to open their pool, sauna or steam room. Very sad they won’t inform properly their members.

TMPL Hell’s Kitchen is a wonderful gym to belong to.Beautifully designed, originally by David Barton who knows how to make gorgeous spaces. The music is eclectic and fun without a droning beat, at the right volume to enjoy in the background or tune out if you’re listening to your own tunes. The crowd is mellow, respectful, considerate and dedicated. And most importantly, the staff cares about your experience and takes pride in their work. Jack the GM is super approachable, with great substance and a twinkle in his eye — so a happy guy runs the show here. And he’s clearly invested in taking excellent care of the members. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive - always with a “hello” and “goodbye” and well-staffed; they reach over and check you in without delay even if they are in the midst of discussions with other members. The women’s locker room is clean as a whistle, the maintenance staff there are pros, very friendly and helpful too. I’ve forgotten items in the (gorgeous & roomy) showers and they’ve returned them to me when I inquired. Once I left my cap and goggles poolside and the lifeguard recognized that it was mine and saved it for me for the next time I came to swim! Plenty of fluffy towels, high-quality great smelling shampoos, conditioners and body wash. Sauna, steam room, massage chair. There was a problem with the hot water - the gym is part of a residential building that was having difficulties with their system. The management worked hard with the building to resolve the issue. Assistant manager Rai took my concerns seriously and brought me straight to Jack. Ari at the front desk put me on an email list to keep me posted. The hot water is back and all is well at TMPL - a nice community to be a part of.

I’ve been a member here for six months, and this is by far the nicest gym I’ve ever been a member of. The staff is friendly (shout out to Jack, JD, and Stephanie!) and helpful and the whole facility is sparkling clean. It’s in the heart of Midtown and very near public transportation. What sold me on signing up was the salt water pool (very refreshing) and the fun lighting and music that makes you feel like you’re in a dance club. They also have a sauna and steam room, in addition to all the other usual amenities (strength training machines, cardio machines, and free weights). There are also regular classes, my favorite is the dance cardio. You can try it out with a free day pass if you live in New York.

The General Manager at TMPL HK, Jack Grounds, is exemplary. He's the consummate manager we all want at our gyms: Jack is responsive, he will ensure your needs are being met to the very best of his ability, and he will hear your feedback with genuine care. I emailed Jack regarding an issue at the gym and he soon emailed a response while also leaving a voice message so that we could talk and, hopefully, find an agreeable solution. When we met in his office, he could not have been a warmer, more professional manger. I felt he did everything he could to make me feel heard and valued as a gym member while explaining the current challenges. He offered a great solution (which I accepted) and even offered to check back with me in a few months. The TMPL executives are very lucky to have him for these reasons because, after all, we (as gym members) just want to know we're being heard, management is making an effort, and members' patronage is always made top priority. A special shout-out to Jack for being a top-notch manager.

Used the gym for a few days on vacation. It's got great equipment, though they only have single dumbell sets over 60 lbs, so you end up waiting. The main reason I gave it four instead of five stars is because they treat the gym like a club: the lights are always dim and there's music blasting. I could understand doing this Friday nights but not at 11am in the morning. If I lived in the city, I'd probably get a membership at Equinox because it's nicer and more refined, even though it's more expensive. However, TMPL was still good for a vacation and I'd go back, since they charge less for day passes.

This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had with a gym, and I’ve been a member at Planet Fitness, several Blinks, and an Equinox in NYC.I cancelled my membership in February since I was moving farther uptown. I found out in July that I was getting charged $209 every month since Feb, and I just noticed. I called back and calmly explained my situation, and someone told me it would be taken care of and that they were very sorry. Now, in September, I see I’ve been charged $209 again. I called back and I got met with someone who said they’d call me back once they looked into it - they never did. Now I have been on the phone with them for 20 minutes ON HOLD as I write this review - at least one thousand dollars wasted on this gym that I don’t attend, and that I cancelled in person. If this is the only way that I can reach someone at this gym, then so be it. But no one will talk to me or refund my money back.

Love this gym and the amazing vibes. If you are looking for an amazing trainer then please look no further than Juan Torres. Love his sessions and my uncoordinated self love taking his boxing classes. In a few months hopefully I will have the coordination down and be ready to flow like a butterfly but sting like a bee.

This gym is perfect. It so big with 2 floors everything is spread out, I’m genuinely never waiting to use something. It has every machine i could ever need. There’s a pool, sauna, steam room it’s great. Definitely one of the best TMPLS.Additionally the staff is incredible. Every time I come they are extremely welcoming and helpful. Recently I was hit by a car biking to this gym and I can’t believe how the staff helped me. The car drove away and I didn’t have many other options than going inside, where the staff immediately sat me down and got me a water. The managers Alex and Jake cleaned all of my literal wounds and helped me call the police for help. They even went to the store to get better bandages for my injuries. They let me sit in the back and watch TV to calm down and get some privacy as I waited for the police. I still can’t believe how kind and helpful they were and I don’t know what I would have done without them. They went so above and beyond and I will always be grateful for them.
