About the restaurant & décor: The former Nino's Tuscany has been remodeled and upgraded. The space is simple and elegant, with white-washed exposed brick, arches and dark wood details. Nooks and crannies in the dining room provide tables for large parties or special events, and the bar gets a buzzing after-work crowd.Likes: Porterhouse for two; thick cut Canadian bacon; martinis; tiramisu with schlag.Dislikes: Can get very crowded.Food & Drinks: Tuscany Steakhouse may have an Italian region in its name, but at its heart the restaurant is a classic New York City steakhouse. On the menu are jumbo lump crab cakes, a seafood tower and a steakhouse wedge. The extra thick sizzling Canadian bacon's crispy outside yields to a meaty interior, even better dipped in the restaurant's signature steak sauce. But really, it's all about the steak. They dry-age the beef themselves, marinate cuts like a well-marbled rib-eye and a porterhouse for two, cook them skillfully and serve the meat tableside. Sides like onion rings, asparagus sautéed in garlic oil and crispy hashed browns come in generous portions for sharing. Tuscany Steakhouse mixes excellent martinis. The wine selection, housed in a pretty glass room, includes bottles from around the world, but the Italian bottles really shine. There's more of Tuscany to be tasted in fluffy tiramisu, served with a giant cloud of homemade schlag.
