I can buy to by boxes and the young man at the front desk has phenomenal customer service skills by far. 10/10 experience, you would’ve thought he was the manager !

Do not use this facility, total rip off. There are hidden charges like facility fee that they add to the final charge. Completely disappointing.

Awful experience with Kirk. I have never been talked down to worse than in that store. He was sooo condescending to myself and the people behind me in line. It's honestly unbelievable that a human would talk to people like that.

If you need a truck, this U-Haul will give you onr, but it definitely could have been a better experience. After we paid, they told us to go outside to find our car without any hint as to where it was. We looked around the parking lot for about 5 minutes without seeing it, and after asking someone inside about it, they couldn't find it either and eventually directed us all the way down the block. When we returned late at night, we used the app to "return" the truck, but found out that this location does not have a key drop. We called U-Haul corporate, who weren't even aware of this and were as confused as we were. As a result, we had to park it overnight, and then drive it over in the morning.Also, the car had a cracked blind spot mirror. Something pretty important in a giant truck. Their solution to the crack was to put a blue sticker over the mirror ?

Your new online check-in system is a really unenjoyable way to start the customer experience. Added 30mins to the check-in process. Plus with in-store staff just standing there looking at you blankly while you wait for approval; definite room for improvement.

Horrible. Made reservation online and began check-in prior to arriving. Upon arrival counter service workers were rude, dismissive and unhelpful in guiding us to rent the truck, or providing a simple answer or solution. Had an international driver, was ok’d for this driver prior to arrival, upon arrival told only US Citizens can rent truck. Stayed for 2&1/2 hours trying to figure out what to do for our 8am reservation. Our reservation was 8am to 8pm, on-site they told us this location closed at 6:30, so truck had to be returned prior to that or you’d be charged for the night rental. Don’t rent from U-Haul go to CC Rentals instead. Faster pickup/drop off (person-to-person checkin instead of online check to person checkin) cheaper rate, kinder people.

Liars, jerks, idiots.I literally never write reviews but this experience has been so absolutely heinous that if i can save even one person from making the mistake of choosing uhaul, then It’ll call it a win. I would give zero stars if I could.*note - all of the following phone calls that I mention were recorded by uhaul, but they refused to take action for their negligence- called uhaul customer service while I had my van to extend the time. Man on the phone asked for my drop off location because “not all locations have after hours dropoff”. Told him it was Chelsea, and he took a moment to check and confirmed that I could in fact return after hours. I asked him again, (my words exactly) “are you 100% sure that I can drop off my van after hours at this location because I’m not keeping it over night”. He assured me that I could drop off after hours at this location.- went to drop off van at 10pm (the time I extended it to) and found out that no, you cannot in fact drop the van off after hours.- called customer service to fix this because the previous man assured me that I would be able to drop it off later. First woman was excessively rude, told me I needed to keep the van overnight, and that it was my fault. I escalated the call twice. (Because where the hell do you store a uhaul van overnight in Manhattan…)*note- there were two other women that showed up at the same time that had also been told they could drop the van off after hours, so I’m not the only person that this is happening to.- Finally spoke to the first person that was not incredibly rude and condescending. She found me a dropoff location in Jersey City to leave the van. She also gave me a phone number to call during operating hours and she warned me that if I didn’t call that number, they would charge me for a wrong location dropoff.- called the number 2 days later when the charge went through, and spoke to another almost comically rude uhaul employee. She cut me off repeatedly and said “I have no idea why they gave you this number to call. I can’t help you and I don’t know who can”. From what I can tell, the customer service woman had just given me the phone number to the jersey city location that I dropped it off at. Told me to dispute it with my bank- I disputed it with my bank and they sided with uhaul and now I’m out an extra $200- this all happened in late July/early august and I was about to let it go because I’m tired of dealing with these freaks, but I just got the re-charge from my bank and I’m furious again.Rudest employees I’ve ever dealt with, completely incompetent customer service, and some pretty shady business practices. U-haul at your own risk.

Absolutely horrible service. Employees were so rude, not helpful, blaming the customers for being confused on process. Just horrible all around. Never come here - absolutely shocked at how bad the employees are. I could go on but I'll leave it at that.

My experience was sub par. I made a telephone reservation one week prior to my pick up date and was told I could drop off overnight. The Chelsea location called me the day of the rental to say I could not drop off overnight but had to drop off the next day at 7 am “no charge to me”. Well my time is valuable and cannot be replaced. To add insult to injury I had to give telephone numbers of people I know and wait for UHaul to call or text these people before allowing me to rent- despite my rental history with the company. This took a half an hour. No one wants to be treated like a criminal or suspected criminal. I was extremely disappointed with my experience.

They make you work through an app and remote support centre to verify your license. It wasn’t working for us so instead of just manually verifying us in person (and we were the only ones at the u-haul), they made us go through it another 3 times before they finally processed us. This took a whole hour to finally then get the van

There hours were completely incorrect and they wasted my whole day of making the trip to drop off my rental equipment. Completely bad business when you can't tell if your open or not. Reflective of poor management.

Uhaul first timer. Came here to rent a small truck, the seats were damaged and terrible and interior beat to hell but it's a uhaul & just needs to work.Chelsea staff was friendly and return was simple, drive through their garage and leave the key.4 stars because they took a long time to give me the key.
