I had a return to do and I wanted to do an exchange. I got to the register and the guy named Diego was so rude. I got to the register and i told him what i wanted to do with the exchange he completely ignored me and told me “to give me one second” rudely and as he was was scanning my items he scanned what i wanted to return and he acted confused and i offered to show him my online purchase he said “ i got it” then flicked the return paper back to me. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

The store itself is fine. Clean. Well lit. Glorified drugstore with a few high end brands. My issue is with their BIZARRE RETURN POLICY!I was returning 2 bottles of high end $60 foundation within 30 days of purchase date. All was going smoothly at the register until the clerk asked me for the gift samples back!!! I was confused and speechless. They were promos that came with my order, so why would they want them back??? Macys and Sephora has NEVER asked for that stuff back and even looked at me in horror when I offered it back! But the Ulta manager was condescending and insistent about getting the used or empty samples back and refused my return! UNBELIEVABLE!I made sure to read the return policy 2x beforehand and nowhere does it explicitly say that "gifts with purchase" are required for returns. The manager was taking a liberal interpretation of "components". To me, "components" of a product are its packaging, product and any applicators that came packed inside with the product. Thankfully I still have the empties but this is a complete waste of my time to have to make 2 trips! So be mindful NOT to throw away the promos if you might return product that you ACTUALLY paid for or you'll be stuck with them.I would've returned by mail IF they made THAT process logical or easy! 99% of big chain stores offer free returns or will deduct $6 from your refund to use their prepaid label but Ulta makes you go to USPS and pay for actual shipping weight. So you're Screwed if returning something large or heavy items like bottles since anything thicker than 1/2" and rigid is considered Priority Mail and automatically cost $12 minimum!NEVER AGAIN WITH ULTA! Sephora is not as petty!

Made decision to purchase curlsmith hair products solely due to the offer for a free microfiber towel - they told me they ran out of the gift at the start of the month (why is the sign still up everywhere??)Also came to Ulta cause I saw the email for my birthday gift. They were also out of the birthday gift. They said they couldn't even offer as a replacement. When I pushed they offered this plastic bag thing - like legit something that looked like it was supposed to come with something in it but they were just offering me the packaging.

Let’s start off with the fact that this store is out of stock of plenty of things everytime I walk in, not just that but the cashier “Kianna” who “””took care of me””” needs to learn good costumer service. I wasn’t greeted when I approached the register so I decided to say “how are you” not a single word back from her, she proceeded to have a nasty attitude as she was ringing me up and can’t seem to do her her job properly in terms of finding prices of items. Someone please train her and teach her mannerism and friendliness as that is a big part of her job.

Tried to return something here for my girlfriend WITH THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT. Moronic cash register lady tells me I can’t return an item this big (it was a blow dryer brush, like tf?) for someone else. It doesn’t say this anywhere on their store policy btw. I tried to give the buyer’s email/phone too but no dice. Idiotic staff and customer service. Would not recommend.Also, their blow dryers are straight garbage.

As an out of Towner, I was super excited to be in an NYC Ulta...however, the MANY sales associates cluttered the already crowded aisles to gossip, while shelves were empty and shoppers were left to fend for themselves to find products. I was surprised to not be able to find products I normally have in my Virginia stores. The store was clean and checkout was very quick and efficient. Not that it matters, but I won't come back the next time I'm in the city.

In terms of an physical ulta it’s fine - but the staff was like…in the way. 2-3 employees standing in the aisles in the way chatting. Didn’t move when asked politely to get products behind them. No offers to help customers. I was in the store for 30 mins and two big clumps of employees stood in the same place chatting in the way in two different parts of the store. One employee outside of these clumps asked if I needed help but it was really clear she didn’t have any product knowledge. She was basically like, “read the back of the box.” I know it’s impossible for anyone to have knowledge of the entire store but she could have helped me dicipher between two products or asked another employee for their input.

I bought gucci bloom parfume on June 2023, and I didn’t open it until I go back to my country. When I open it this month, I tried it, there’s no fragrance or smell. It smells like alcohol 70%, there’s none of gucci bloom scent AT ALL. I wonder if I got the fake one from this store.I even tried to shake the bottle, but still no fragrance except alcohol smells.

Very uncomfortable shopping experience. I was in the lotion and nail polish section and I noticed a lady (short older lady with curly hair) STARING at me. I looked back for a second wondering if she wanted to talk before realizing she was an employee. It was very unsettling so later, I turned to look at her again and found her looking over her shoulder to watch me. She made it clear she was suspicious of me and I don't understand why. The experience was very hostile and I saw she was watching me even as I went to check out. I understand the need for security but her treating me like I was trying to steal was incredibly uncomfortable.

Its an oasis of an adult playground. Ulta contains every beauty product from hair to toes. Their staff is so welcoming & friendly. The makeup artists are beyond professional & the hair specialist is phenomenal! Everyone should go to ulta & see the hype & good prices & beautiful decor. :)

I had a very positive experience for such a busy store. I was interested in E.L.f products which unfortunately had no testers and I asked an assistant for help and while she couldn’t provide the assistance I needed she was quick to offer the kind of assistance I would need. Shortly after the makeup artist came to assist! That was way more than I expected, and the cashier was very pleasant also!Thank you??

I had the worst experience today at Ulta beauty and I will never ever do my business with them again. I had a Ulta beauty appt today for to get my hair done and it was extremely important for me to make sure that my I get my hair done cause it was EID my holiday. Moreover, I schedule an appt for 1: 45 pm today and I made sure that I make it on time. I even called them while walking toward my appt and letting them know I am on my way and the girl at the receptionist told me don't worry you have a 15 mins grace period and even took my name and checked. She could literally have told me on the phone not to come in instead they waited for me to come in. Once I got there the front desk receptionist told me oh we are sorry we cant do your hair today cause the artist had a family emergency and couldn't make it and then they are like oh we don't have anyone to do your hair, good bye. This is the most unprofessional mannerism I had ever experience. Mind you I have done my hair at Ulta for my prom and its was an amazing experience. No compensation what so ever they didn't even called me to let me know that the person is not in today. They literally waited for me to get there at the front of the desk to tell me they cant do my hair. What rubbish is this? Like come on! I traveled from Brooklyn just so I can get my hair done for my holiday instead they ruined my special holiday! I will never do my business here any more.

If there is zero I will put zero .. I did apply for ultra master card at store and the manager said that I was not approved.she was very unprofessional and rude with hood attitude . I know she was lying bec my credit score is excellent.. couples days I received the ultra credit card by mail .. I will cancel it and I never ever go to that store again

Got my very first curly cut/reshaping with Ms. Stacey-Ann Houston and I couldn’t be happier, she was the sweetest, super educational and extremely talented. My hair hasn’t felt that level of love and care in a while. As an indecisive millennial I love that her IG page offered a lot of inspiration pictures. It was a pleasure being her client.
