It is criminal that a US government office should be allowed to be such a mess.

Went to the Roosevelt Island Post Office on Monday, March 4, 2024 at approximately 1:40 PM. For some reason the front automatic doors wouldn't open for two elderly ladies trying to access to the inside. After a few minutes, a young light skin female clerk came to open the door. She asked me what was I there for, and I told her that I wanted to purchase a money order. She then informed me that the PO was closing for a time not made clear by her. No proper explanation was given only "today we're closing for a while". Anyway, as I waited some TWENTY MINUTES PLUS ON LINE, there was just myself and an elderly woman still waiting on the line. This young girl kept sashaying back and forth playing doorman and gatekeeper with the front post office doors being busy doing NOTHING.Only one clerk (male ) was ACTUALLY WORKING with a male customer ahead of me.Then she got verbally rude with the elderly woman behind me when asked a question. When she FINALLY found herself behind the counter, she still played like she was busy doing something. This child played games avoiding taking care of either of us ONLY TWO CUSTOMERS IN THE ENTIRE POST OFFICE. Finally, after THIRTY PLUS MINUTES, the nice male clerk took care of me and a five minute transaction took OVER HALF AN HOUR TO TRANSACT. I'll give the male clerk Four stars for his professionalism and efficient service. That young girl gets FIVE ZEROS FOR BEING A TRIFLING LITTLE SMART MOUTH, USELESS IDIOT. I don't know her name, but whoever reads this, knows exactly whom I'm referring to. And I hope she reads this review and get her non-working self together. I hope her superiors see this post also. A Tip:...DO BETTER!!!

This is like a small town post office. They get to know their customers and are very helpful.

Today I had an appointment at 3:15 p.m. and we arrived like 5 minutes later for my baby's passport, the lady at the counter was very rude to my husband and me and my baby was there scared, why does she work like such a nasty person? My God. to argue that she would have helped us but no... plus our way to get there was long... we told her that instead we encountered a lot of traffic and she responded that that is not her problem... and other things. .. besides my husband begged her to help us and she was very rude at that time. I told my husband not to beg or ask for forgiveness...then he got angry and things got worse...and he told me to repeat what I told him. I told him no. I didn't say anything and we went from there...we were very sad and scared...I hope they hire nice people and love their jobs...

They lady at the desk was VERY very rude and we said we were a little bit late but they wasted our time for 20 mins by arguing and we could have used that time??♀️I am giving you advice to NOT GO THERE so you don’t waste your time. THERE IS NOT ONLY ONE PERSON WORKING THERE!!! As you come in you might see two or one person and the lady is always the one you have to go to but her attitude is (whatever better word to say mean).

This office operates like a fine tuned machine! Additionally, the employees appear to be absolute GO-GETTERS ready & willing to get the job done just like The USPS motto claims... ?

This place is great! All the best to Baptiste for all her help and professionalism, the whole passport process took less than 5 minutes. All the people who gave this lady a poor review should rethink their opinions.

Lady who works for passport services should be fired. She went home before our passport appointment, husband and I took a day off to take our childrens passport. She didn’t even call to let us know she is not going to be there. This is the 2nd time we failed to get our passport with her in 10 days. DONT GO THERE, find other place to apply for passport.

Do you need a passport ? Oh you do ? Well don’t come to Rosevelt island post office, if there was an option to give negative starts I would, the woman who does the passports is awful, condescending, unhelpful, and rude, I have never had a more infuriating experience with a postal worker in my life, every question I asked was met with an exasperated sigh and half hearted response which rarely had any information of any use, as if IM the one that does this multiple times a day, I managed to stay polite and respectful throughout the experience as I feel she possesses a sence of power entitlement that surrounds her job, kind of a (im the way to get a passport, don’t piss me off) attitude (lovely) I understand there’s one person doing the passport application but why give appointment times if they can’t be upheld and seen to on time ? I’d rather wait on line for an hour in the freezing cold to speak to someone respectful and who cares even a tiny bit about their job, rather than have an experience like this again, don’t wast your time coming here, you don’t want to be there, and they certainly do not want you there either .

I noticed you guys are complaining about passports, let me school you real quick…There is one passport agent, she is ONE PERSON!! stop being so entitled! There are other post offices you can go to get a passport done, but y’all choose to come to Roosevelt Island. She has to take lunch it is mandatory by law, it’s either y’all wait or leave the choice is yours!!
