They only let you use the self service kiosk to drop off pre-paid shipping. The issue with that is the package doesn’t get scanned in to show USPS has possession of the item. 3 TIMES NOW my package has gone missing/lost because it was never scanned in. Then when going back to the post office to ask what happened to my package they say all packages leave the post office. How is that possible without the package ever being scanned???? Idk if someone is stealing or what but it’s actually ridiculous and the staff is so rude. Do not ship your stuff from here.

At every post office, it seems there's a mid-career clerk who appears disheartened by serving the public, fervently wishing for the day they can retire—and this location is no exception.Today's peculiar encounter unfolded as I approached the vacant teller at 9:02 am, armed with a medium-sized package. Instead of a warm welcome, the clerk promptly scolded me to join the line for the self-service machine. Perplexed, I questioned the logic of queuing for a machine when he was available and there was no line.To further confound matters, he insisted on withholding a drop-off receipt because I hadn't used the machine. Just as I turned away, he abruptly called out, handing me the receipt with a delayed "wait."Perhaps it's time for this individual to consider retirement or a transfer; dealing with the public may no longer be a suitable fit for him.

Update 10/06: The parcel I dropped off was eventually sorted and scanned down the line of delivery. Changed from 3-4 stars. I wasn't aware they relied on a kiosk to circumvent wait lines to scan parcels at a kiosk prior to drop-off. As all clerks were serving others, there was no way someone could inform me. The scanner is on the opposing front end of the drop-off shoot. It would have been helpful if the sign warns patrons to scan first.Wish I read the reviews before I dropped off a USPS return parcel with a pre-paid label yesterday. When I entered, it wasn't busy, but each attendant had a patron. I saw a clear door that had a sign to leave drop-offs, which I did. It seemed too simple. I would have preferred a receipt that it was received at this location at the counter. It's over 24 hours later, and I entered the tracking number, and it shows that the label was created, but it's not in the system. I'm worried. With the lack of customer service I've read about thus far, I really hope it doesn't get lost in the rabbit hole USPS in known to be.

Staff are very lazy. One of them denied to ship my package with QR code through the counter because there is already a machine there. The thing is there was no one on the line and there’s lines of people at the machine. She kept saying that we can’t fo that. I’m very dissapointed because any other branches were able to ship your package regardless of having a prepaid QR code. Such a waste of time…

I will never ever forget my horrible experience and mistreatment at this USPS location. I got my passport done here almost a year ago. The staff were so rude and narcissistic that I cannot fathom how they even got a job in customer service. It was my first time renewing my passport so I wasn’t completely sure on how the process worked. When the lady asked if I had a passport already, I misunderstood her question and said no. She accused me of lying and completely misunderstood my intentions. She started badmouthing me to the other workers while I stood there helpless trying to explain myself. Then when my papers got transferred to another lady, this lady was even MORE rude than the last. She was an old black woman with glasses. I couldn’t hear her because she was speaking so low so I asked her to repeat herself. She started rolling her eyes, scoffing, and threatened to turn me down. I was so appalled by this grown lady’s behavior. I was only a minor. At the time, I was desperate to get my passport done since appointments were booked everywhere so I couldn’t even defend myself as she shouted and humiliated me in front of others. Towards the end of my appointment, this lady had the audacity to make a prayer to God as if I was the one troubling her. I’ve never in my life met such disgusting hateful human beings. Both of them need to be fired

The most unprofessional rude staff you will ever encounter. Specially Agent Brown and Green in the passport department. They should be fired and not allowed to work customer service.

I came in to mail a money order and was not familiar with the process (I’m not from the US), I asked the Asian lady to help me do it since it was my first time, instead of explaining it to me, she just gave me attitude and started laughing in my face because supposedly “I didn’t know what I wanted”… that way of treating clients is very unprofessional

I came here to drop off a package, at the kiosk the lady refused to scan my package and send it off to shipment. Told me I have to use the machine, to scan the item. The machine does not confirm that the package was accepted by USPS and only provides you a receipt of the prepaid receipt that I don't need since I paid for it online. I needed the receipt that confirms that USPS has the package in their possession.

The staff at the Greeley Square PO (4 E 27TH ST NEW YORK, NY 10001-9994) have been incredibly rude and inefficient on more than one occasion. Today, a clerk refused to take a pre-posted package because I had printed out the label a couple of days ago; they said "it will look like I'm late." This comment was the only thing they said; they didn't greet me or provide clear instructions. When I inquired with another clerk, they yelled that I should place my package in an unattended pile of neglected, unsupervised packages at a remote window. There was no line and there were only a couple of other customers. I went to another post office location (Madison Sq 149 E 23rd St, New York, NY 10010) where they helped me with the same package with a smile, clarity, and efficiency. This is not the first time staff has been rude at Greeley Sq and helpful at Madison Sq. I commend the Madison Square station! For the good of our community, please improve the poor management, morale, and manners at the Greeley Square station.
