Can't say enough about this old school mom & pop hardware store. It's been around since the invention of Dirt! Family owned and you know that you can go there for that particular thing and if you also need some guidance on the task you're undertaking as well, these guys know their trades and will happily, patiently explain how to go about the task at hand. Sure, I could hoof it over to Home Depot and possibly save a few shekels, but to walk out of this store having been fed a helping of old school customer service, the kind that is so rare these days, you may have forgotten what it is! And it strikes me, "oh yeah, there still are a few stores run like this. Whew!" That's worth more than the few shekels extra you may have paid here, bc that kind of feeling that all is well in a lil pocket of the neighborhood is basically priceless! It's no wonder it's been in business all of these years, they treat the customer right!!

If I could give this place 100 stars I would! Luis and Thomas helped me unscrew a bolt that I had tried forever to do! They didn't even charge me for the job! I will be back to buy any tools or locksmith stuff I might need in the future. I am so thankful for them!

I have been using this neighborhood hardware store for 10 years, and their stock and service are excellent. No only do they sell items, they also tell you how to diagnose any problem so that you can order the right items. Two brothers run the shop: one funny and the other solemn--but both true pros. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Super friendly and helpful. Always has a solution to any question. Willing to give you the right answer and not push the most expensive / profitable item. Trust them with all my questions

Great local hardware store with friendly service and a better selection of hard to find items than neighboring hardware stores.

This is the way hardware stores used to be, family run, chock a block with every hardware item you could need. Great for browsing. We’ve been coming here for years since we moved into Gramercy Park in the 80’s. And for service, forget about Home Depot or Lowe’s. They just drilled a hole in a stainless steel plate saving me a trip to a metal fabricator in Brooklyn. They did it in the store. It took all of five minutes. Can’t beat that.

When I got home at 5:46 our house cleaner told me that she accidentally made a hole in the bathroom sink drain pipe. I removed the damaged L-fitting and dashed 5 blocks to Warshaw Hardware before they closed at 6. They graciously let me in at 5:55, found the correct replacement fitting, cut it to size, noticed that I needed a reducer and provided one, then let me pay with ApplePay. I've lived in the neighborhood for 24 years and only visit Warshaw Hardware when something is broken. Everytime I visit they are unfailingly thoughtful, knowledgeable, helpful and kind. My wife is so happy that I was able to fix the sink before she got home. Thanks a million Warshaw Hardware! I can't recommend these guys highly enough!

This hardware store is amazing! The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Over the past year, they have solved three difficult problems in my apartment with a friendly can- do attitude. Additionally, each solution cost under $15. Skip all the franchise and chain competitors who do not have Warshaw's expertise and make this the first stop for all your hardware needs.

Warshaw Hardware is the last of the great family-owned and operated businesses in the Gramercy Park neighborhood. They cater to the building supers and non-pros alike. They were able to fix a lamp attached to the wall after telling me exactly how to remove it and bring to them. Today, I brought my Water-Pik in. After I knocked it over, the pik broker off, a small piece remained. They popped it out in no time. They are the most competent, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and nice merchants - just like it used to be but they still are.

Warshaw hardware is absolutely the best and only place to go to. Everyone who works at this family owned business is amazing. They all go out of their way to figure out what you need. My recent experience with Megan was terrific. She spent a lot of time tracking down a piece I needed and gave me the info to order it. Any encounter I have with anyone there is so incredibly helpful. This is a neighborhood gem. And if you don't live in the neighborhood, it's worth the trip.

Five star for repairing and restoring my mid century modern lamp seen in the pictures attached did wonderful work and now works like it did originally in the 1960s

Last week I broke my wife John's vanity while she was putting on lipstick. I wanted to show her a yo-yo trick that I learned (Walk the Dog) and accidentally hit her in the back of the head/shattered the mirror/split the antique tray in half. The bump on her head can only be healed with time and the mirror is done for, but it's within my reach to fix the tray so I got on the train to head to my favorite hardware store in Stamford. Well I fell asleep on the train and woke up in Midtown Manhattan. I decided to try and find a hardware store in the city. I was already there, wasn't I? Why not make a day of it. The big city... I was already there so I thought why not. Why shouldn't I? What could go wrong. I walked for 45 minutes before happening upon Warshaw Hardware. I was delighted by the service. I showed Ed the tray and he helped me find the supplies I needed to make sure I could fix it up good as new for John. I realized at the end of my commute back home to Danbury that I accidentally left the tray at the shop. For John and I's anniversary in the fall I will go back to get it. Excellent brass selection. I will also grab a bag of grommets when I am there as I think they look nice in a bowl as decor. Family-owned and founded in 1925. Say, 1925. Nothing like a family-owned business. Will be back - Greg

The very BEST neighborhood hardware. The staff is WONDERFUL. Very personable and knowledgeable. They are quick to share their expertise and the shop has an amazing range of products in stock. If they don't have it today, they will order it for you and it arrives within a couple days most times. I've been going to them for years as I live in the neighborhood and they are always my first go-to.
