Horrible pharmacy. They say you don't have refills when you do. They say your doctor hasn't sent the right approval/authorization when your doctor has sent it numerous time. You show up during the business hours posted on the website and that are given when you call but they are closed. Not just closed for an hour or two - entire days and no one can tell you when they'll reopen. If you call to speak to someone in the pharmacy department the wait is always at least 20 mins late if anyone answers at all. You'd think the app would be helpful, but the information is often incorrect as well. It will say your rx is being processed and no action is required on your part and then days later the rx still isn't filled. So you wait 20+ mins to speak to the pharmacy department and they tell you that you need to call your doctor/insurance despite the app clearly saying no action is required and THEY are contacting your insurance/provider to resolve the issue. It's always a nightmare dealing with them.

My partner has cancer and her life DEPENDS on her medication. There have been more than a few times there has been a lag in filling the prescriptions for her, telling her they are "OUT OF HER MEDICATION." And there have been times, right now for example, which is why I am leaving this review, that she was supposed to go in to get her medication and the pharmacy is arbitrarily closed: Friday she arrived, after speaking to someone that said (after 3 days) it was finally back in and ready; and there was a piece of paper taped to the closed gate, with a hand written note that "the pharmacy is temporarily closed, sorry for the inconvenience." This is not a mere inconvenience when you need your medicine and you have tumors in your lungs and on your spine. She is in major pain, pain I cannot fathom, because this pharmacy is "temporarily closed". (They were still closed yesterday when they were supposed to be open and today, too.)

I had a terrible experience with Covid shots at this Duane Reade. The first time, my family waited for an hour past our scheduled appointment time. I figured this was a fluke and scheduled my daughter's second shot there. When we arrived 15 minutes in advance of her second shot appointment, the pharmacy was closed. No one could explain why.

What's the point of scheduling appointments for flu shots if you make people wait an hour? And then give you attitude for it?

This place from inside and outside is terrible. Inside the lines are long and slow. the staff has no preparation to answer your questions .... Here in the parking lot they allow you to smoke drugs, drink alcoholic beverages and power your favorite music at full volume until dawn ... the store prefers to spend thousands of hours cleaning up disasters they leave every night (bottles of whiskey, tobacco packages, condoms, food scraps.) instead of depriving their parkin and letting the whole community rest. that's the image of this Duane Reade .... just close the parking lot at night with an effective system .... I don't think this multimillion-dollar company will find this mission very difficult. now we are under the covid-19 and here people enter without a mask and the staff still gives them their service.

Sometimes the workers are rude & lazy .I go to store almost every day most of them know me , George always welcome me with a nice smile & the lady that help out with cosmetics & make up too!

Bad experience after bad experience!I really do not come in here unless I have to... they are extremely slow and the employees here hide, and avoid helping people.Anyways, I had to pick up a package that FedEx left here for me. I showed the lady at the register the slip that FedEx left and she took like ten minutes to find the tracking information on her handheld device. She, then, stated that she was the one who did the mail, and that it showed that the package was there. However, she could not find the actual package. -- That made me feel uncomfortable... What do you mean you cannot find my package? The first thing that crossed my mind was that a random person came into the store and stole it, since they leave the packages thrown there, near the exit door.When I saw that she had gone through the mail more than twice and could not find it, I asked to speak to the manager. I was told that the manager was at another store. The assistant manager, Angella, was there and she just looked at me like I had ten heads. She did not even respond to me or acknowledge me. Angella, learn how to manage a store... The same way you all protect the store's merchandise, PROTECT PEOPLE'S PACKAGES!

Pharmacy: doctor called in prescription at 4:30 PM. Called the store a few times, went through the automated prompts, kept getting the same message "we are still working on it. Please call back in an hour." Finally came to the store, because they close at 8:00 M and I needed the meds today still. Prescription wasn't ready, they worked on it, I waited another 10 minutes. Not impressed.

This Duane Reade is nothing special. Customer service is nothing to write home about. I almost never find what I'm looking for. The last time I was in here looking for deodorant, there were 3 huge boxes in the aisle blocking the deodorant shelves. Only positive thing I can say is that it's clean. DR is really expensive too. I went shopping at Target one night and planned to pick up a Neutrogena body oil. When I got there, they were out of stock. On my way home, I popped into this DR and they had it. But wait... The oil I was purchasing at Target? 16 oz for $9.99. DR? 8.5 oz bottle for $12.41. The ultimate scam.

This Duane Reade consist of hardworking, dedicated, kind employees with a truly warm environment, with the unforgettable and unfortunate lack of customer service provided by the tall, African American woman by the name of Solange who works at the register. Solange is truly an unkind personality who has worked at my local Duane Reade for months. She does not speak kindly to customers, instead yells at them to come to her register; she charges full price for items, even though customers ask her to check the price; she clearly loathes her job and I'm not sure why or how she continues to work here. I am actually more surprised that more complaints have not been listed here. Every time I'm on a long line, all the customers are whispering to one another about her incredulous behavior in providing basic customer service. Solange spends her day at the register looking angry, unhappy, and obviously taking all her aggression at others. I've observed the rest of the staff roll their eyes at her behavior, sigh in despair, and gasp at the many behaviors she displays to the general public, and often other employees find themselves apologizing for her behavior because they're embarrassed to work with her. I will be calling the main office to report this behavior. The only reason I posted four stars was for Solange's lack of basic customer service skills which I personally feel ruin the image of a late chain store. Solange should not be working at the register; she should not be the face of the store.
