Photos of inside won't do the place justice. Incredible selection, prices may have location tax though. Near Union Square.

While they have a great selection of brands, their own in-house products (pre-made foods like soups, etc) are waaaaay too sweet. My most recent attempt was the chili, which was so overpowered with sugar that it tasted like ketchup (and this is coming from someone with a sweet tooth).

A mainstay market I find myself coming back here often because of the location, selection, atmosphere and widely available hours.

This is a nice convenient 24 hour grocery store that is just expensive enough to keep the aisles less populated for easier shipping, especially late nights. It has a Manhattan gourmet shop feel to the place. Excellent prepared plates.

Purchased 2 different soups with sell by dates well in advance. Both were sour and rotten. Had to throw away. Ew

Some of the best deli salads and selection of cheeses anywhere. They even have hot foods that they make. If you like fresh healthy food this is the place you need to come

My go to place for late night grocery pick up. This supermarket is freezing cold regardless of the season outside. I think it discourage people from hanging around too long and just pick up and go. The check out is fast and no-nonsense. Vegetables and fruits are fresh as they come.

They do not display prices on most merchandise, especially when it's sold at inflated prices. Example? 90% of beers do not have price tags. I know what their strategy is: they think people will not want to go back to the relevant aisle for lower priced merchandise and line up again at the cash register, or go to another store two or three blocks away. I bought a 6-pack that would cost around $15 in other local supermarkets and cost $20 at Westside, and it was nothing fancy, just regular beer. Corporate greed at its worst.

Westside market's business model is simple: don't put price tags on like 95% of the items in the store, overcharge massively for those items relative to local competition, and hope that customers just don't notice this or can't be bothered to check prices. Makes Whole Foods seem cheap.
