Disgustingly irresponsabile unprofessional behavior - they lied to me told me to come get medicine then decided at closing time (my dog is very sick and now everything is closed ) sorry not going to give you the meds.after wasting precious time. I have never seen such cruel behaviour and lies in my life.

In spring 2019, my puppy was attacked and bitten in the face. They arranged for us to be seen very quickly. Dr Lauren seemed very caring and patient. 4 instead of 5 stars because they separated me from my dog to clip the wound area and flush it. I would have preferred to stay with her. Will go back there. It was clean and the staff were helpful and nice.Jan 2020: Last week I went back to the clinic when my dog had an ear infection. Dr Lauren moved to California so I saw Dr. Rutherford. She was kind, gentle, patient and thorough. Two things stood out:1. At the time of the visit, my pup was also due for shots but they could not administer all on them at the same day so Dr Rutherford arranged for the next round of shots to given by a nurse - no appt necessary and no visit fee.2. Dr Rutherford phoned three days after our visit to check up on how my pup was doing. It was a nice touch and I plan to make her my pup's primary caretaker in the future.Highly recommended!

. On the positive side . I think the veterinarians there are probably very good in what they do. My pet was seen for over a year by Dr Rosenthal. The Dr has treated our dear friends pets for decades, Dr. Rosenthal has always said, that one contact her by email or phone. My dog recently had an 11pm Thursday night emergency visit due to extreme shaking and panting. I left a message for Dr. Rosenthal although she did not work the next day or over the weekend her voicemail specifically states that one is not to leave a message, but just a name and number, Th e Dr called me on Monday afternoon chastising me for not leaving a detailed message. I called back within 15 minutes and she was gone for the day. I left another message. I never heard back from her. I left her another message on Wednesday, still no response. Dr. Rosenthal finally called me early Thursday morning and was extremely disinterested. I asked her why she didn't call me back when my detailed message on Monday stated she was in emergency urgent late Thursday night and I was very concerned. She quickly got defensive and biting and said that I should've brought the dog in so I could see her shaking. Said the dogs shaky occurred sporadically during the day, no set time She did say she did not know the cause but it could be many things, but refused to elaborate which made me even more concerned. No apologies, no nothing. It went downhill from there and she basically dismissed me and my dog. My dog now has a medical issue being attended to by another, more courteous and responsive practice. I received a copy of pets records from Westside Veterinary Center where even the Drs notes were petty and personal. i should also add that this Dr failed to give my dog her due vaccinations until I reminded her.

I would overwellmingly recommend this vet practice to any animal parent. I've been a client for three cats, including my present one. Being a group practice, Westside has the advantages of peer consultations with many specialties, extensive facilities and their staff is great, from reception, vet techs and nurses to the doctors. But one aspect of this practice enrages me. They send an email reminding you that your pet's rabies shot is due. You make an appointment a week and a half after the due date for a check-up. You attend the appointment. Three days later you get another email reminding you your pet's rabies shot is due! You review the invoice: sure enough, no shot was given. Why should I be responsible for reminding them to give a shot they reminded me was due?!? Inefficient record keeping at best, a flagrant bid to charge for an additional visit at worst. This is no slight inconvenience for us: a vet visit means a pre-surgical fasting regimen because my cat is so traumatized by travel he voids from every orifice unless he's already empty. Fun times. Recommended, but with this warning.

My cat was diagnosed with cancer and her old vet gave up on her. We were then recommended Westside by a friend and they quickly took us in. I could not imagine going through such a journey anywhere else. Dr. Rosenthal is so caring, careful, and honest. The care, attention to detail, and love that pours out of this place is unparalleled. Lenox ultimately passed away but we gave it all we had with the help of Westside Veterinary. She received the love and attention all animals deserve and passed away peacefully.

Our dog Bubbles loves visiting Westside Veterinary, whether for medical procedures, boarding, or just to stop by for a treat on our walks. She loves the staff and the staff loves her back. Her teeth cleaning went smoothly and she recovered quickly. Office administration is always efficient and complete.

We are lifelong customers of Westside Veterinary Center and we would never go anywhere else. Our relationship is with Dr. Rutherford. She is available by email for questions and our annual check ups are always a total delight. Dr. Rutherford is so gentle and kind with our Kitty and the sensitivity she exudes when she speaks to us is very comforting. We are devoted customers.

Recommended by a friend, we went for initial appointment for wellness checking and annual vaccination with Dr Friedman. The whole process was in such a rush. All health exam and vaccinations were finished in about 10 minutes, including preparing vaccines! I don't think Dr Friedman even carefully looked my puppy. I mentioned my puppy is in diarrhea, and Dr Friedman gave a quick answer about eating one kind of meat only whole life. That's it. No explanation on how to find the ONLY right meat. (By the way, the health checking they charge $125! Then plus vaccine $61 each.) I was told by Dr Friedman to come back to get balance vaccines in 2 weeks. But when we checked out, nobody show me the bill or remind me to make follow up appointment. But they kept calling me, only because they miss-charged 1 vaccine. That's the only thing they care! I emailed them that I would pay during next appointment for that missing vaccine. Also, after I got emailed bill, I found we didn't get right vaccine we need, but other vaccines that are not due yet. I emailed Dr. Friedman for 2 days straight to get visit report and vaccine schedule, but no reply for far in 3 weeks! Now in the middle of annual vaccine, I have to change vet. Worst experience ever! They don't care about animals, and are not professional by not answering emails.

This place is not where you want to take your precious one. Two years ago we told Westside Veterinary Center that our (then) 11 year old Maltese was bumping into things, scratching his head, and acting stressed at night. Our vet diagnosed him with cataracts and mild arthritis. The former only had surgery as an end point, for the latter they prescribed pain and anti-inflammatory meds. Then, suddenly, last month, he went completely blind in both eyes. Turns out, when we took him to another doctor it wasn't cataracts and they immediately diagnosed him with Glaucoma using a simple pressure test. The Glaucoma had gone undiagnosed and untreated the entire time at Westside Veterinary, leading to his blindness and our vet had never performed this simple eye pressure test (small dollar item) to rule out Glaucoma. They also never suggested seeing an opthalmologist for further diagnosis (our bad on this as we have learned never to accept one vet's opinion). Our experience - Westside Veterinary Center goes through routine check ups in a rushed manner, does not have experienced vets, does not allocate thoughtful time to assess all the data and all the possible aspects of the symptoms. They will take your money alright, but, based on our case anyway, do not adequately provide care.

We cannot say enough good things about Westside Veterinary Center. The medical care is first rate, and the administration is top notch. Most importantly, our dog loves to visit either for scheduled appointments or just to grab a treat from the friendly staff.

My cat Goose has serious anxiety about getting his nails cut. The team handles him so gently. He’s never upset when he comes back out to us. Staff is always friendly and informative.

Over the course of 25 years, I’ve been to several veterinary practices . Westside Veterinary Center is by far the best. I transferred my dog’s care here three years ago (when Buster was 9 y.o.) and only wish I had done it sooner. Westside Veterinary Center is a principled, five star practice that has maintained a superb reputation over decades. They have a large staff of top notch veterinarians, including many with decades of expertise. They are supported by a terrific team of vet techs during visits and procedures, and a knowledgeable administrative staff who are efficient and polite no matter how busy it gets. WVC is open 7 days and has extensive evening hours. I don’t know of a private practice that offers more access to quality care. Fees are standard. I am most and forever grateful to Buster's extraordinary vet, Dr. Kim Rosenthal. She took Buster on knowing his was a complicated case, and has looked after him tenderly and beautifully, visit after visit, and following 2 life changing surgeries, performed by Dr. Kosovsky.Veterinary care is not more or less the same everywhere.Bring your animal here.

I took my dog, Ernie, here for a false alarm, but Dr. Rutherford was so kind and patient! Even though nothing was (thankfully) wrong with my puppy, she was kind and took the time to meet him. I’ll definitely be using this amazing center as my vet in the future!!
