Hours: Hotel Nyack - JDV by Hyatt is a great modern hotel with an arty interior design. It features good looking public spaces, a spacious lobby and restaurant, and outdoor seating. The nice looking rooms have high spaces and are beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds. The property has a nice restaurant bar on scene, a pool, and free, extensive parking, though the back lot is not well lit. The hotel serves an excellent a-la-carte breakfast and good drinks, with excellent bartenders. It is located just off the thruway in a village, not in the center, so a car is needed. However, some rooms lack certain expected facilities. They did not have a mini fridge and oven for personal use, as the mini fridge was filled with drinks to purchase. Items like toothbrushes, slippers, and robes were not provided. A significant issue is the lack of sound barrier between rooms, allowing noise from neighboring guests to be clearly heard, which made stays uncomfortable for some. The room's AC/heat unit sometimes did not respond to adjustments. The carpet under beds was noted as a potential trip hazard. An unexpected "destination fee" was charged on top of the room rate. While the staff is often praised and occasional nice gestures like complimentary gifts occur, the experience can vary based on neighboring guests and event noise from weddings. The venue sometimes features live music that may not suit all crowds. Overall, it is a good hotel with a nice aesthetic, but the details of the renovation can seem cheaply done, and the noise issue is a major drawback for many guests.
